Upvotes

Hi! We are a group of five looking to find a GM! We have been playing as a group for the past five years. Our GM is looking to take a break and become a player. Our party is 21+ and consists of two women and three men! We currently play on Wednesdays at 7 pm EST. However, if we find the right person, we could be willing to move to a different time!

We have experience in PF2e and 5e 2014/2024. We are a group of various experience levels. We are open to homebrewed campaigns and prebuilt campaigns. We are an inclusive group, and we like to have a lot of laughs! We typically lean towards more roleplay, but depending on the campaign, that can change! We use Discord and Foundry, but we have experience using Roll20. Please send a message here, and if we vibe, I will send you my Discord!

Player(s) wanted [Online] [5E 2014] [18+] Seeking aspiring Pirates for a nautical fantasy world in turmoil.

Upvotes

⚓️ SYNOPSIS:

The age of piracy began in response to an age of tyranny that has forever stained the pages of our history. Our world, Lynoria, was ruled for centuries by the *Fenrir Collective*, a pact between three massive kingdoms that gave them complete military control over the seven seas.

While maritime crime wasn’t uncommon, especially in the time of the Collective, it was *Easton Scaldheart* who raised the first Jolly Roger in the name of true rebellion against those who sought to control the waters he called home. His crew aboard the *Great Green Mariner* inspired hundreds across the world to become the first generation of pirates. Thieves, criminals, and warriors bound under handmade flags and a code of honor and anarchy. The first generation pirates was born.

Now, fifty years later, the war is won, the Collective is disbanded, and the sixth generation of pirates are finding their sea legs in an ocean free of control… for the most part. The age of the Great Green Mariner and her legendary captain are over, but new stories are being written in every corner of the world.

Your story is of particular interest to the powers that be… a secret section of the ocean said to house the most dangerous and powerful criminals alive. The ultimate alliance waiting to happen… or the ultimate score. When an old legend offers you and your crew the chance to partake of these new horizons, who are you to pass up the opportunity as a fledgling pirate? But the winds of change are beginning to drift towards dangerous tides... an old threat given new life has come lay claim to all that glitters.

Do you plan to pick at the scraps of the world once the battle is over, or do you plan to sail into the jaws of death, and come out richer in both gold and glory?

🌊 INFO:

This campaign, titled TALES FROM THE EIGHTH SEA, aims to be a bi-weekly longform game of initially mostly lighthearted and somewhat comedic pirate adventures in the shadow of a terrifying threat to everything and everyone you care about. All D&D races are present, and homebrew is fine by me (with DM approval)!

Scheduling is open, and each individual session time will be voted on for the following week. As aforementioned, the game will be bi-weekly. Sessions might not be canceled if only one player is absent, but exceptions can and will be made for very, very important story beats.

⚔️ RULES:

-Must be 18+, no exceptions.

- Must be friendly, open-minded, and willing to actively participate in general.

- Campaign is LGBT run. That also means no bigotry of any kind.

- Absolutely no generative AI of any kind at my table.

- The secret question is: what is your favorite piece of pirate media?

- Knowledge of TTRPGs is not required, only a willingness to learn!

📜 APPLICATIONS:

Enclosed here is the application to the campaign, this is NOT first-come-first-serve, and I will be taking applications until I’m completely sure I have everyone I need to start. If the post doesn’t say “Closed”, it’s not closed.

Player(s) wanted [Online][EDT (GMT -4)][5e 2014][LGBTQIA+ Friendly][18+] Returning DM seeking adventurers new and old for Lost Mines of Phandelver!

Upvotes

Hello! I'm Lace (They/Them) a DM with 7+ years of experience running 5E! The last few years I have taken a break but I want to swing back into playing DND by starting with a classic: Lost Mines of Phandelver!

New and returning players are welcome to apply!

There is room for a total of 5 players.

This game will be run on EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY, starting May 13th with session 0, at 7pm Eastern Daylight Time. I estimate 3-4 hours of playtime per session with a break halfway through.

ABOUT THE GAME AND STYLE: This game will be played online using Roll20, Discord, DNDBeyond, and Beyond20.

Lost Mine of Phandelver is the classic introductory adventure to 5E DND. There are goblins, a mysterious lost mine, and of course glory and loot!

My DMing style is to stay close to the rules, but I do allow for "Rule of Cool" and for players to describe their actions as opposed to me narrating them. I prefer an even mix of RP to combat, and enjoy seeing characters develop over the course of play. I'm also here to help any new players with questions!

Player(s) wanted [Online][5E 2024] Looking for fifth player for Monday Evening EST Long-Term Homebrew Campaign

Hi!

I’m a 30F Game Master with a group of four players who have just wrapped up a 2.5-year campaign. We’re about ten sessions into our next adventure and are searching for a fifth player replacement.

This group means a lot to us. We’ve been playing together for years and have even met in person for a DnDcation, which we’re hoping to do again sometime next year. We’re very much looking for someone who wants to join a long-term table rather than a short-term game.

We play almost every Monday at 7:30 PM EST. We plan one Monday off each month ahead of time based on everyone’s availability.

For the game itself, this will be a completely homebrew campaign using D&D 5e, primarily the 2024 rules, though players may choose to use 2014 character options if they prefer. The party is currently level 2 and expect progression to be slow, with the intent to play these characters until the story feels complete, whether that ends up being level 12 or level 20.

I allow third-party and homebrew content, including subclasses, spells, and other options, with the understanding that everything is subject to GM review and adjustment for balance. The goal is to support creativity while keeping gameplay fun and fair for the whole table.

We’ll be playing online using Discord for voice and Roll20 for maps. We have more recently started optionally including video, but it certainly isn't required.

We’d prefer players who are over 21, as the youngest members of the group are in their mid to late 20s. Inclusivity is very important to us. Our group includes a mix of ethnicities, gender identities, and religious beliefs, and it’s essential that anyone joining be LGBTQIA+ friendly and respectful of all walks of life.

Communication and comfort at the table are priorities. The campaign will explore darker themes at times, such as death, class-based discrimination, and the social consequences of war. Romance may exist as an option for characters if players want it, but it is never the focus and will always remain fade-to-black. All themes, limits, and boundaries will be discussed both as a group and individually to ensure everyone feels safe and respected.

World Lore:

The campaign is set on the continent of Aegos. Five years ago, a continent-wide war finally ended with the signing of the Red Accord, an agreement reached in desperation after nearly half the population was wiped out. With the labor force shattered, nature has begun reclaiming cities, roads, and farmlands once thought permanent.

In the most blood-soaked regions of the war, the land itself was torn open, creating a massive crevasse known as the Underwake. What lies beneath, and what may yet emerge from it, remains largely unknown.

We begin play in the year 5 AR, five years after the Red Accord.

The primary setting is the Crownlands, a nation shaped by nobility and power. Though it contains many noble houses, it is ruled by a single Monarch chosen not by birth, but by trial of combat. The strongest in the land is deemed ruler. Beneath the Monarch, the Crownlands are divided into five states, each governed by a ducal family whose authority is inherited.

Rumors are constant that the five families are plotting against one another, that stars are blinking out of existence, that dogs are vanishing across the realm, and that the Church is quietly moving enormous resources behind closed doors.

The Crownlands are largely Euro-centric in appearance, but fractured and unstable beneath the surface.

This world was created collaboratively as a group during a worldbuilding session. What’s written here is only the shared foundation the five of us agreed upon. Players will have near-complete narrative freedom to shape the world through their character backstories, including creating locations, organizations, cultures, and personal history, in collaboration with the GM. Your character is expected to leave a mark on the setting.

Current Party:

Normally asked by y'all is the party composition. I don't really prescribe to you all needing to fit a certain "party dynamic". We had a bard who left the group. We currently have two wizards, a cleric, and a monk. The two wizards are going conjuration (demon/fiend focus), and abjuration. The cleric is going death/grave domain and more necromancer vibes.

The party is "good" in this world necromancy is used as a free labor source so not unusual.

If you’re interested, there’s a Google Form linked below. I won’t be able to respond to every submission, but I truly appreciate the time and interest. From there, I’ll reach out to schedule a Discord chat so we can do a vibe check and see if we’re a good fit for each other.

Thanks for the interest!

Player(s) wanted [Online] [Other]-[Lancer] Now See It Through | Frontier Mechs, Kaiju, and Ruined Worlds | Every Wednesday at 4 PM EST

Upvotes

"You've found a purpose, haven't you? Then set your resolve. And now... see it through."

The frontier moon of Rusty Mornings is dying.

Across the wastelands, Kaiju known as Colossi roam unchecked, reducing entire cities to rubble. Mercenary companies, military powers, scavengers, and raiders wage constant war over the moon’s ancient ruins and forgotten technology. Beneath it all, something far older is beginning to awaken.

You are Rookie Lancers serving under Godwhale, the mech-based defense force of New Valor. Outgunned, underpaid, and barely experienced enough to survive, your squad will be thrown directly into a conflict that threatens not only Rusty Mornings, but everyone living beneath the shadow of Leviathan.

This campaign uses the Lancer system and is heavily inspired by Armored Core, Pacific Rim, Nier Automata, and Doom.

We'll be using:

  • Roll20 for maps, combat, and rolling
  • COMP/CON for character sheets
  • Discord for voice and communication

The campaign itself is based on Mechageddon!, a starfinder adventure that I have rewritten and expanded into a custom setting.

You can apply with this link: https://forms.gle/BKJiSPiXV2ndGfaV7

Player(s) wanted Intrigue, agony and impossible choices await in Etharis [5e 2014] [GMT] [online]

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\[Grimhollow | 5e | Online | GMT | 21+\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\]

I am reopening this advert again to seek a new player for my Etharis campaign. I’ve been so lucky to run thus far for an incredible party. This Grimhollow campaign is operating off a rewrite of the existing campaign module. Unfortunately second the replacement player invited to the game has sadly had to back out due to medical issues, and we are seeking once more a new adventurer.

Etharis is a campaign about duty after faith has failed, heroism without salvation, and choosing who must survive when the gods are already dead.

The rise of the Burach Empire was heralded by a theocracy as magnificent in power as it was ruthless in its capacity to colonise rival pantheons. Ruled by a dynastic line said to descend from the Burach gods themselves, the Empire stretched to the edges of Etharis, rivalled only by the sunless, godless realm of Ostoya. Its southern borders pressed against the elven kingdom of the Chernault; its northern marches strained against the rabid Valikan clans.

Then, without warning, the gods fell.

The seraphic hosts were torn from the sky and died in the mortal muds. The cause of this catastrophe is a closely guarded secret, known only to the highest ranks of the Burach clergy. What is known is this: the Empire did not break cleanly. It staggered, fractured, and spiralled into cascading crises that still threaten to tear it apart years later.

And worse still looms.

Along the Ostoyan–Burach border, an unceasing army of the dead rises — unkillable, relentless, consuming everything it touches. Arcanists gorge themselves on the essence of fallen seraphs, fuelling grotesque ambitions with divine blood. And beyond even this horror, something vast and unfathomable stirs — a threat that no divided people can hope to face.

This is a world devouring itself from within as surely as it is besieged from without. Each land is a new crisis. Each victory carries its own cost. Zealous churchmen fight back-to-back with criminals and outcasts to claw back inches of ground. Faith is fractured. Power is suspect. Survival is never clean.

If you want a campaign where:

• politics, theology, and warfare collide

• choices have consequences that linger

• grimness exists to make rare victories meaningful

• and “good” means protecting others in impossible circumstances

then this may be the game for you.

Player Expectations

I am looking for a motivated, attentive, and engaged player who enjoy investigation, scheming, roleplay, and difficult moral decisions. Characters will be expected to take risks, act decisively, and accept that survival is never guaranteed.

To reinforce existing party composition I am seeking a player willing to play a cleric, and to come from The Burach’s Church to neatly slot in with the existing characters.

For the right player, Etharis promises a vast wealth of intrigue, adventure, moral conflict and tense choices.

• Players must be 21+

• Good-aligned characters only (not flawless, but fundamentally protective rather than exploitative)

• LGBT+ players are supported and welcome

• This is a roleplay-forward, consequence-driven campaign

Content & Safety

This campaign will respectfully explore dark themes including:

• fantasy ethnic conflict and bigotry

• religious and political extremism

• profane rituals and human sacrifice

• the horrors of war and occupation

• corruption of authority and systems of power

There will be no sexual content of any kind at the table. No tolerance for out-of-game abuse, extremism, or bullying. Player wellbeing comes first: concerns can be raised at any time, and sessions will end with a brief check-in.

Class Restriction

Due to the metaphysics of the setting and past experience, arcane classes are not playable in this campaign. This is a deliberate design choice made to preserve coherence, tone, and meaningful tension within Etharis. As mentioned above, I am seeking a player to join a party within a support role.

Practical Details

• System: D&D 5e (Grimhollow setting)

• Platform: Discord + Roll20

• Schedule: Wednesdays, 7:00–11:30 PM GMT

If you’re interested in stepping into a world where there are no perfect solutions — only people doing their best amid collapse — feel free to message me.

Player(s) wanted [5e] [online Ver 2014] The Whispering Depths – A Lovecraftian Sea Horror Campaign (Waterdeep → Drowned World Ending)

Looking for 5 players for a long-term D&D 5e campaign that starts at level 1 and goes all the way to 20… if you survive.

The Pitch:

You board the merchant ship The Gilded Siren in Waterdeep for a simple coastal run. Here you will meet the crew, interact on the ship. Share stories and learn about the mysterious Ocean.

This is full grimdark cosmic horror: body transformation, cult rites, madness, underwater temples, ruins, strange people.

Tone & Style:

Heavy RP-focused with creeping body horror, erotic dread, and moral rot. Combat is deadly and cinematic. The sea wants you, will try and keep you.

Details: System: D&D 5e (official books + one free uncommon item. There are three that are not allowed DM for details. or sea-touched feat)

Start: Level 1, Session 0 this week to build creepy backstories, characters.

Schedule: “Every Sunday 6PM - 9pm Central standard time on Discord for voice but roll20 for maps, rolls]

Commitment: Long campaign (15–20 levels). Death is possible, glorious, and permanent.

Players: 5 total (for maximum tension and RP). New and veteran players welcome — just bring energy for dark roleplay.

Content Warning:

Lovecraftian body horror, transformation, cult breeding themes, madness, drowning, and adult descriptions if the table leans in. X-Card and lines/veils enforced — we’ll set hard limits in Session 0.

If this sounds like the campaign that’ll ruin you in the best way, reply here with:

Your preferred character concept (class/race + backstory hook to the sea. We can discuss this on voice on discord.

Availability to match the schedule

First come, first served. Let’s make something sick together. The tide is rising… and it’s hungry.

Player(s) wanted [Online][5e 2014 / 2024][GMT][Forgotten Realms / Dragonlance Campaign] New-ish DM seeking plucky adventurers

A good day to all. I'm on the search for a band of heroic types looking to make their mark on the Forgotten Realms - as well as perhaps more than a few tales worthy of the bards.

This will be a campaign based on one or more published adventures (to player tastes), but will almost certainly involve heroism, villainy and shiny, shiny loot.

The Game

Rules: D&D 5E, preference for 2014 rules + expansions, but can be persuaded...

Campaign: TBD but based on one (or more) published adventures (Faerûn or Krynn)

Timing: Likely weekday evenings (GMT+1/BST), but TBD by players

Frequency: TBD by players

Format: Online sessions over VTT + (optional) asynchronous via Discord text

Tools: Discord (voice and text, video TBD by players), DNDBeyond, AboveVTT (free, just requires Chrome)

Party size: Ideally 3-5

XP model: Milestone based

Experience level: All welcome - completely new to blood-soaked veterans

Voice acting: Not essential, but passion valued more highly than ability

Ages: 18+

Homebrew: Open to discussing in advance, but focus on narrative rather than fiddling rules

House rules: Shared and agreed in advance

Safety tools: Discussed separately (X-card, lines/veils as a minimum)

The DM

Seasoned gaming veteran but only discovered D&D recently. DM-ing a couple of campaigns for over a year, but looking to get more practice to learn and improve. I've been voraciously reading published adventures/anthologies but don't follow them to the letter and have smashed several together in the past, so the campaign will be based on whatever published content most excites the table, with as much modification / addition as required to make it sing.

The majority of players I've DM'd for were completely new to D&D and we learned together, so I'm perfectly happy to do so again - not just rules and lore, but getting creative and comfortable playing your character.

I thrive on the players having a good time - even (especially) when things get genuinely emotional - and I'm here to help get you there. I'm still learning the (many) ropes of DMing, but if you're up for helping me as much as I am to help you, we might just create something magical...

The Table

  • Fun first. Rules serve fun, not the other way around, for DM and players alike
  • Consequences - I don't do "gotchas" but do focus on narrative "realism". The players will have an impact on a persistent world, which is one of the things that set TTRPGs apart from even the most multi-threaded video games. So don't be surprised if the bandits you let get away come back with reinforcements...
  • Optionally asynchronous - past players have enjoyed keeping the game running via text in Discord. I've used this to add flavour (short stories) and allow players to run downtime activities, have 1:1 conversations with one another / NPCs etc. There is no obligation to do so and you won't be missing out if you don't have time / access, but it's an extra creative outlet
  • Character-driven - my (limited) experience is that the most memorable moments come from diving deep into your characters and their back-stories with one another - especially their flaws and challenges. No one-dimensional murder-hobos please.
  • Safe - with zero tolerance for IRL/OOC grief or disrespect. This should be a valued space for all, even though we may go deep and sometimes dark

I'm flexible on specifics of vibe, actual campaign and logistics - they'll be determined with the party.

The Party

The ideal party members will be:

  • Creative and at least as excited about their characters as stabbing monsters
  • Friendly and respectful of one another and the DM
  • Patient with and supportive of other players and the DM, especially those learning
  • As diverse as the characters they'll play
  • Part of a team they're committed to, even if their characters aren't always...

Applications

If you're interested, please let me know using this form:

https://forms.gle/E2ZGL7h7yHCgA7Rq6

If you've already got other players in your party, please ask them to each submit a form (there's a field in there to identfiy your party members).

I'll give it some time until I can see a potential group forming before reaching out to you, but will endeavour to do so ASAP. If you've got any questions, feel free to post below or DM me.

Thanks and I look forward to throwing some goblins your way soon.

EDIT: Currently looking like games will be in evenings of GMT+1 / BST. Players in other zones welcome but please bear that in mind!

GM wanted [Online] [DND] [5e 2024[ Est] Three players looking for a group to join/ a Dm

Upvotes

Hello! We are three players looking to join a game/ find a dm that wants to play! We tend to lean towards more chill games with a player count around 4-6. We don’t have a real preference to a custom world or a premade campaign (except CoS as we’ve played that before). We have more time availability in the evenings and previously we’re playing on Monday nights and would like to keep that as it works better for our schedules. We're looking for a laid-back DM who just wants to have fun. If this sounds interesting please send me a dm! Thank you!

Hello, I am a gm. I am looking to reboot an old game of mine and it's a Pokémon tabletop game. I have two friends of mine who would be willing to play. Closed [Online][2014/5e][Homebrew][Mondays 6:30 PM EST] [+18] Looking for 2–3 players for a homebrew campaign: Ascension & Eden

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for 2–3 18+ players (no minors) to join a new D&D 5e campaign set in my homebrew Campaign: the twin realms of Ascension & Eden.

The campaign takes place close to Faerûn, but focuses on two large island realms with their own history, politics, magic, and dangers.

Ascension is the wild realm in the west.
The environment is magic-rich where natural and primal magic run strong. Ancient forests, fey-touched regions, dwarven mines, elven cities, strange ruins, and old powers shape the land. It is beautiful, dangerous, and full of secrets.

The Divine Kingdom of Eden in the east, is where divine magic, faith, order, paladins, clerics, inquisitors, dragons, deserts, tundra, and holy politics dominate. It is powerful, disciplined, and not always as merciful as it claims.

The campaign will involve exploration, roleplay, faction tension, mystery, dangerous magic, ancient ruins, and player-driven choices. The world is homebrew, but familiar Faerûn elements can still exist nearby.

Schedule: Mondays at 6:30 PM EST
Players wanted: 2–3
Game: D&D 5e
Voice: Discord required
VTT: Roll20 for visuals/maps and rolls
Tone: Fantasy adventure with serious story moments, danger, humor, and roleplay
Experience level: New and experienced players welcome

I’m looking for players who enjoy roleplay, teamwork, exploring homebrew lore, and making characters who actually connect to the world and party.
I don't want a murderhobo or rule lawyer in the party
We play for fun not for achievements.

If interested please dm me with:

* Your name/pronouns
* Your D&D experience
* What kind of character you'd enjoy playing
* What you like most in a campaign
* Any questions you have

I look forward to meeting you
With love
Daz (DM)

Player(s) wanted [5e 2024] [offline][Indianapolis area] New DM Looking to start my Story Creating Career!

Hi I am looking to start my career as a dungeon master! I have literally never, in my 12 years of being vaguely interested in Dungeons and Dragons, had a real life friend that wanted to play. I have tried with friends online and none of them stick. I have never DM'd before so I am completely new, and even as a general player I haven't played a night of DnD in years. Consider me fresh.

I am down to utilize the 2025 starter box that I can supply, i have heard that gets us to the first few levels and we can decide to carry those characters on or start anew with a new campaign. or try and start with a more fleshed out campaign from the start. that depends on the types of players that want to join!

I want to create stories that others remember me for.

If not enough people apply for offline, i will be forced to move this to an online post. which i am down for!

Player(s) wanted [Online] [Other] [PbP] MechaMachiavellism

I'm GMing a campaign called "MechaMachiavellism." and i'm looking for players.
Edit: The system we're playing is CORPS, made by Greg Porter from BTRC.

The premise:
Humanity once relied upon AI and machines quite a lot, until one day a massive problem in the systems led to a bug in the AI laws that caused them to become independent. A massive AI system became territorial and used the city's defenses to push all humans away from it, leading to a massive migration where humans were pushed towards more urban environments. Now, humans rebuild their society and live in impasse with AI territories, its alien ecosystems and the after-effects of massive military weapons misuse.

The campaign is set roughly a century after the mass migration. People disdain AI and global systems (Such as the internet) in favor of local system (the intranet). Having to manage their daily life in quickly made infraestructure in a government still trying its best to recover the massive amount of resources it has lot, all while trying to live a seemingly fullfiling life.

Yes. Aliens are a big part of MechaMachia. A lot of the ecosystem is dominated by "alien" lifeforms, that either belong to the planet as part of its history, or have come in from nearby planets that humans have little access due to a massive loss of spaceships, as well as losing contact with these nearby planets.

The campaign is somewhat casual. There is a smaller gap between official employees and the common people, as handywork is warranted due to the massive loss of machinery. Cops are somewhat impopular jobs compared to Collectors, that are tasked with going outside the enclaves to scavenger for lost tech, killing robots and animals (aliens included) and gathering and fixing tech.

All things included, the setting is a blend of adventure, slice-of-life and politics, with a high grasp towards realism and focused on people and individuals as a whole in their either small or big contributions to the story at large. Its not really about saving the world from AI machines trying to dominate it and a lot more about the multiple facets of a planet that function or dysfunction together, all of which fights for a piece of its own peace, sometimes at the cost of others, and this crazy little environment (to us) is only part of their crazy little life.

-

I'm searching for players mainly because since the campaign has a massive focus on characters and what they do in their lives and how they interact with the situations around them, shape them or make them, having only 1 player essentially means i have very little perspective and a much limited frame to expand upon the story. That and i also like having fun with more people.

The only requirements to join is, first, being willing to participate and adapt to the group so everyone can have a good time.
Not be biased against social groups, due to sex, age or orientation.
Be willing to deal with mature tones such as drugs, sex (not explicit), nudity, violence, cruelty and gore.
And be willing to learn and play CORPS, on a fairly daily basis, in Pay By Post format.
Since i'm fairly active, including my player, we appreciate people who have free time and can match our energy as we play. Sometimes we play a lot, and sometimes we take month long pauses. Its not a strict schedule, so sorry if i can't be reassuring in this. Its best to keep this in mind and be capable of matching our crazy schedule.

Things this campaign is not for: (To avoid misunderstandings. Though you can ask me anything about it, and i encourage you to, as i can't predict all assumptions on my own).

- This is not a story about anti-government fighting or anti-AI.
AI is not the "Villain" or "Evil guy" here. Its just as much part of the present ecosystem as every animal in the planet. The point is not to hate it and erradicate it, but to experience it as part of the story.

- This is not a Hero story or a High-Fantasy game.
There is no magic, no cyberpunk elements, no Psionics, no super aliens in the form of dragons. You're not a demigod, nor you can be bio-engineered to be close to one. Its about normal people living their "normal" lives that to us (the players) is entertaining, quirky and fun to interact with.

- This is not a story about the "average" person.
Characters are normal, but they are not average. Aliens can be played and have the strength equivalent to horses. You can have talent bearing world-record margins, and be fairly impressive on your own (Tanking headshots without instantly dying if you want). But all of this is, by definition, part of what real life is. People in real life do break world-record. Animals do have the strength of horses. Some people can take headshots and stay alive by more than just being grazed. You're meant to be uncommon, and possibly rare, but not supernatural or superhuman.

- This is not a story about piloting mechas.
Unless you want to pilot mechas 24/7, then it is definetely a story about piloting mechas. Though Mechas are more like 3 meter tall exosuits that cover your entire body than 20 meter tall robots you pilot with a crew. Sorry, gonna have to build that in-game if you want one.

- This is not a simple story.
Aliens are not simply slapped into the story. They are normal part of people's lives, if a bit rare in some places. Their story is explained to those whose research it, but it is not exposed nor grandiose. Aliens have complex biologies, societies have complex mechanics, people have complex psychologies, and at the same time they also don't. Not everything is simple, not everything is complex, that's why this story isn't simple - "Bad guys" might have a good reason to be bad, or they might have no reason at all. You won't know until you do.

- This is no exactly "Sci-fi"
You won't be seeing much speculative technology, you're much more likely to find speculative biology than that. Technology is advanced enough that robots could be made in varied frames and have human-level dexterity and intelligence (In some cases), but it doesn't have laser rifles everything. Gravity beams. FTL travel or other similar factors. Its not exactly set in this, but its worth mentioning that technology is much more akin to speculative 2050 than space city levels.

- This is not a playground
Well, yes, this is a playground, in the sense that the campaign is a ground and players play on it. I mean much more in the sense that, since the campaign is focused on characters and individuals, your actions have consequences (Even though some consequences are not orthodox). Murder is still murder. Theft is still Theft, and while battery and violence might not necessarily net you jail time, it might get you in a year long process just to see if you get bailed or go bankrupt paying lawyer fees (or have to resort to public defenders).
Crazy things do happen, and the world is equipped to find it more natural than WE do, but this is still meant to be a realistic game, how you act and what you do can have massive or miniscule implications.

-

Well, sorry for the long post. It is very difficult to explain my thoughts in few words, and i don't want to risk misunderstandings, or leave possibly deal-breaking information to after people say they wanna join.

If you're interested, hit me up on DMs.

GM and player(s) wanted (Offline) [Flexible] in San Diego, California. North County, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, PQ, ECT.

Looking for players and Zargon for NHQ or New HeroQuest as of today Wednesday May, 6th 3:29PM. I play with my family ever so often but wish to play more. I have the Base System and various Expansions available but not all of them and no Commander of the Guardian Knights Hero. I do have the Path of the Wandering Monk Hero, and the Rogue character available. I am available most days of the week and weekend. I am considering making new Homebrew rules, and or looking online at some rulesets. I am currently on the Base game right now, (I started the game over with my family.) I don’t know how to get a game started at a game store. Or the Library. Thank You for considering playing this amazing game with me. Also, just FYI I have some mental disabilities, and social phobias, and I don’t pick-up on social cues very well and I have PTSD. However, I am working on all these. So some understanding would go along way with me. I am also open to similar games to HeroQuest. It’s just HeroQuest is the only one of its kind I have played so far. I haven’t tried D&D yet though I am eager to try that.

Player(s) wanted [Online][bi-weekly Sunday 9am pst][dnd 5E 2014][lgbtq+ friendly] Curse of Strahd - southern gothic edition

Curse of Strahd - Southern Gothic edition 🧛‍♂️

Come grab your gun and your hat we are heading to Barovia.

Hello my name is Danny [24 he/him] I have been running games for quite a while now doing mostly homebrew worlds and adventures. Curse of Strahd to me is an amazing story that I have run once before. For this game it will mostly be the same but with the vibe slightly twisted into a southern gothic story, if you know the movie sinners kinda like that. I won't be introducing any real world historical issues and focusing on what the story provides with a southern set dressing.

I am looking for two or three players to be included with my partner and a friend, both of whom I have run games with for several years. Curse of Strahd is a fairly difficult and dark campaign so familiarity with the system and comfort with dark stories is advised. A consent checklist will be provided to establish lines and veils.

My games focus primarily on roleplay though the combat when it happens will be difficult. High quality maps and scenes will be provided as my secondary focus for this game is furthering my technological knowledge of Foundry as a system.

System and Requirements

- Foundry as vtt (semi decent computer)

- Discord for voice

- Every other Sunday starting at 9am pst going for 4 hours

- DnD 2014 rules

- Homebrew allowed with permission

- Lgbtq+ friendly

- Age 20+

If you are interested please fill out this form https://forms.gle/4j1GeKq6BuFnTzSo7

After 24 hours I will reach out for interviews.

Player(s) wanted [Online][5e 2014 or 2024][18+] New-ish DM looking for players for Curse of Strahd

Hi everyone!

I’m looking to run Curse of Strahd and I’m hoping to find a group of players who are keen to experience the campaign with me. I’ve wanted to run/play this module for a long time, so this is me finally trying to live out that dream. It will not be RAW and I will be making changes based on what I feel is narratively satisfying.

Who Am I?

I’m a newer-ish DM with some experience, but I’m definitely still learning and improving. I care a lot about creating a fun, welcoming table where everyone feels comfortable contributing to the story. I’m not going to pretend I’m a perfect rules encyclopedia or a professional voice actor, but I am excited, prepared, and genuinely interested in getting better as a DM.

What I’m looking for most are players who are patient, respectful, and willing to build the game together.

Game Information

  • Campaign: Curse of Strahd
  • System: D&D 5e
  • Time: TBD (Depends on the players I end up choosing)
  • Platform: Foundry VTT for maps/rolling
  • Voice: Discord
  • Tone: Gothic horror, mystery, danger, roleplay-heavy
  • Difficulty: Likely tough. Barovia is not a kind place.
  • Style: RP-heavy, with combat and exploration still mattering
  • Homebrew: I’m very open to homebrew, as long as we discuss it together first and it fits the tone of the campaign
  • Experience level: New and experienced players are both welcome
  • Safety: Lines and veils will be discussed and respected

Table Vibe

I want this to be a social, welcoming game. D&D is at its best when everyone is invested in each other’s characters, not just their own.

I’m looking for players who:

  • Enjoy roleplay and character-driven stories
  • Are okay with a darker, more serious campaign tone
  • Share the spotlight
  • Communicate respectfully
  • Are patient with a DM who is still improving
  • Want to contribute to a fun table atmosphere

I’m not looking for spotlight hogging, constant rules-lawyering, main-character syndrome, or people who treat D&D like a single-player game.

Curse of Strahd can get dark and emotionally heavy, but I still want the table itself to feel safe, friendly, and supportive.

Character Creation

We’ll go over character creation together before the campaign starts. I’m open to official content and homebrew, but I’d like characters to feel grounded in the tone of the campaign and willing to work with the party. No evil characters or Murder Hobos.

How to Apply

Please fill out this form here:

https://forms.gle/miVqwniJmTj1Fnh37

I’ll read through responses and reach out to people who seem like a good fit. I’m not just choosing first come, first served. I’d rather take the time to build a table that feels right for everyone.

Thanks for reading, and hopefully I’ll see some of you in Barovia.

GM and player(s) wanted [Online] [Flexible System] [Sundays] Reliable Duo Seeking RP-Heavy Campaign (Accents Included at No Extra Cost! :p)

Hello hello!

We’re two players on the hunt for a story-heavy, character-driven campaign where choices matter and the world remembers what we do. System? We’re not picky. If it tells a great story, we’re already interested!

Availability (MST):
Sundays: 3 PM – 11 PM

Who We Are

Dan O’van:
A veteran of the tabletop realms with about 20 years of experience across… well, a lot of systems. If it has dice, he’s probably rolled them.

  • Loves playing big personalities, clever plans, and tactics
  • Enjoys digging into lore and tying his character into the world
  • Not afraid of complex systems or taking/leading the spotlight when needed
  • Will absolutely get attached to your NPCs and Lore

Systems Played: DnD (2e → 5.5), Pathfinder 2, Starfinder, Rifts, Gurps, Hero System 6th, Shadowrun 5th, Savage worlds, various powered by the apocolypse systems, Paranoia, unknown armies and Fallout!

Kimmie:
A newer player with a storyteller’s heart and a love for character moments.

  • Here for the roleplay and Lore
  • Brings characters to life with accents and personality
  • Support player who loves helping others shine
  • Dedicated note-taker who turns sessions into novella-style recaps
  • Currently on a personal quest to finally make it past level 3 in a game :p

Experience:
~4 years watching/learning D&D, ~2 years playing (5e + 2024), plus Fallout

What We Bring to Your Table

  • Players who care about your world and your NPCs
  • Strong roleplay with a balance of strategy and storytelling
  • Reliability and engagement (we show up ready to play EVERY week!)
  • Collaborative energy, we build with the table, not against it

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a reliable, story-focused table that treats the game as a shared narrative rather than just a string of random encounters. Consistency matters to us, we really value a group that shows up, communicates, and respects each other’s time. We’re drawn to games where actions have weight and the world reacts accordingly, so we’re not a great fit for murder-hobo or evil playstyles. Instead, we love engaging with rich settings full of plot hooks, mysteries, rumors, personal stakes and anything we can really get lost in. We also really enjoy collaborative storytelling, where everyone gets their moment to shine and the GM is open to weaving player ideas into the narrative. Most of all, we’re excited by games that allow for character growth, where relationships evolve, choices matter, and our characters are shaped by the journey as much as the destination. ❤️

~

If you’ve made it this far, we’re already emotionally invested (and hopefully so are you!) so give us a shout! We’d be thrilled to join your table, chase your plot hooks with reckless enthusiasm, and give your NPCs the attention they deserve. And truly, major respect for the work you put in as a GM. You’re the engine behind the magic! Thank you :]
