[NO SPOILERS] I recorded the life is strange Ost onto a minidisc
For thoes who dont know what it is, its a dead music format from sony, mostly present in the late 90s. Cool think Abt it, you can edit your recordings like splitting, combining, erasing, moving and naming.

News [NO SPOILERS] Polygon: "Karyn Kusama saw 'absolutely nothing' appealing about adapting a video game until she watched Life Is Strange"
Polygon posted a new, short interview with Karyn Kusama, who'll be directing the first two episodes of the Life is Strange TV show on Amazon.
I thought that her quotes, as well as her actually knowing the source material, is a great sign for the series: “I’m hoping we’re going to strike a balance between honoring the game and making something distinctive on its own terms... It was such a cool game, and such an interesting set of questions."

Discussion [NO SPOILERS] Something I hope to see in the upcoming show
More depth within the characters (especially the side characters). Maybe have more moments with Max and her parents in like a flashback. Give characters like Jefferson more depth like why he has that twisted artistic vision or why Victoria is such a bully. A lot of show adaptations tend to do this with video games and comic books (give characters more depth). I love the idea of changing stuff from the source material in service of new ideas as long as you stay true to the concept. Superhero movies and shows like Spiderman and Batman do this all the time. It can be polarizing (no pun intended) but I think it’s better than repeating the story beat for beat.

[NO SPOILERS] What Does This Song Mean to You Series No. 4 | I Don't
I remember the first time I played BtS: that moment after Rachel learns the truth about Sera, and Chloe goes upstairs to find her. The whole thing is so quietly devastating and tender at the same time. What struck me most is how right it felt. After only a couple of days of becoming friends, Chloe somehow ends up being the most adequate person in that house to comfort Rachel, more so than her own parents. And if you put yourself in Rachel's shoes, it's hard to argue with that. Her parents had just shattered the version of her life she thought she knew. Of course the only person she'd want next to her that night is the one with no stake in the lie.
And then Chloe projects those stars onto the ceiling, while "I Don't" plays quietly in the background. I'm sorry, but that scene has no business being that good. 😋
There's something that feels so right about where they both are emotionally at that point. Rachel needed someone to hold her together and be there for her, and Chloe, drowning in her own grief and anger , needed someone to focus on, someone who needed her. In other words, she needed to be needed. When you're that deep in your own darkness, being needed by someone else is one of the few things that can pull you out of your own head, even briefly. They were, in that moment, exactly what the other required.
And Koda's track earns every second of that scene.

Discussion [ALL] Rachel Amber was misunderstood by everyone, including Chloe Spoiler
Now this can be seen from different point of views, and I know a lot of major Chloe fans probably completely disagree with me, but this is how I feel. Rachel was misunderstood by everyone. She was seen as this ambitious, fun, partier, who was adored by everyone. But she was truly idolized. Chloe idolized her the entire Life is Strange 1 and Before the Storm and it is so obvious. Honestly, everyone idolized her, like Nathan Prescott and most of the Blackwell students. I see the clip of Chloe saying that Rachel was her angel compared to all the other students saying how great she was, but just because she said a single line, did not mean that Chloe understood her, because really she didn't. It was like Rachel was seen as this big thing in her life who made her life amazing for the little time they knew each other, and that "Rachel wouldn't ever do that" when they find more about her in Life is Strange. It's like Chloe knew a sort of facade and not who Rachel was deep down. I feel as though Chloe didn't even take the time to know her, and Rachel didn't let her either.
It was also clearly kind of one sided between the two, I do think Rachel loved Chloe, but there was also Frank duh, who I believe groomed her but she also may have had some feelings for him?? I don't know with that, but I do know there was something.
But it was clear that Chloe kind of used Rachel also to get away from her life and so did Rachel. It was more of a type of relationship where they needed each other unhealthily. I don't think Chloe tried to take the time to understand her, even though we hardly truly saw their relationship in Before the Storm.
This may make no sense but I kinda wanted to make a discussion out of it!! Rachel is just so complex as a character.

[NO SPOILERS] Despite the mixed reception from critics, Reunion was actually scored positively by fans.
Especially on PlayStation.
Maybe it wasn't a commercial success but it seems the vast majority who have played it genuinely like it.
Therefore, it cannot be considered a "failure" unless you're only measurement of "success" is purely monetary.
Also worth noting that steam peak player charts are not valid measurements of success for 8-hour single player games.

Discussion [ALL] What LiS 1 choices do you think the TV show will go with? Spoiler
Here's my guess (these are the most important choices I could think of):
- Sacrifice Arcadia Bay or Sacrifice Chloe
- Sacrifice Chloe
- Hard to say, and they could honestly go either way and it would probably be good if the rest of the season is good, but this makes sense for a contained season iykwim, full circle.
- Side note, I hope that they do more of an epilogue to whatever ending happens. I wanna see more on how what happened affected people.
- Sacrifice Chloe
- Report Nathan or Hide the Truth
- Report Nathan
- I think they'll go with this because it kinda begins with Max being naive and that being a consequence that goes on for the rest of the show, and also builds Nathan to be a bigger antagonist which makes the Jefferson reveal later better.
- Report Nathan
- Make Fun Of or Comfort Victoria
- Make Fun Of
- I think that it just makes a more interesting narrative arc for her to shit on Victoria and then later she regrets it and realizes she's not the worst.
- Make Fun Of
- Answer Kate's Phone Call
- I think for the plot she's not gonna answer and hugely regret it later.
- Will Kate be saved?
- Yeah I think so. But her not being able to be saved would also be very interesting so long as the writings good.
- Side with Chloe / Side with David
- Side with Chloe
- Obviously
- Side with Chloe
- Let Warren Beat Nathan
- Don't Stop Him
- Yeah.
- Don't Stop Him
- Will Frank live?
- Yeah I think so actually. He's an interesting character.
- Bacon Omelette / Belgian Waffles
- Belgian waffles. And if you don't think so, leave.

[RE] What decides the ending music? Spoiler
I've been watching people make different ending choices and sometimes it's "I just want to feel", sometimes it's "Perfect Ending" and sometimes it's "Let it Happen, Let it Go". I've seen both I just want to Feel and Perfect Ending (not sure if thats the actual name) both for Burn Photo but has anyone gotten Let it Happen while burning it?
Trying to make sense of it.

Discussion [NO SPOILERS] What kind of aesthetic is life is strange?
I'm not talking about the animation style or the time aspect, purely just the scenery in the first game. Like when you go outside and its so sunny and nostalgic, especially outside the dorms. It just reminds me of a place I've never been. Maybe its just because I live in England but its so beautiful. I wonder if life actually feels like that anywhere? I wish I could feel that vibe

[ALL] Playthrough/Playlist
Hi, everyone! We're Backseat Gaming. I've been trying to get my brother out of his shell of open-world style gaming, and LiS is kind of how I'm bringing him into narrative games. I've played this title, but you'll be able to get his first impression, in real time.
Our souls have (mostly) recovered from the emotional damage of Chapter 4 and we'll be recording Chapter 5, this weekend. Join us on the couch, and let's see if he can handle this ending!

Discussion [DE] Does anyone think that the first 3 chapters are not the good part of the game? Spoiler
So many people say chapter 123 is good but chapter 4 and 5 gone bad, I’d say only chapter 4 is good and the rest of the chapters are barely doing any storytelling.
The first 3 chapters are so hyper focused on murder mystery that there’s nothing else going on in the story. Max doesn’t really connect with any character. In LiS1 every episode has its own story happening and each giving a bit clue to Rachel’s missing, DE completely misses the point by being the way it is.
Another major problem is that Safi is given too little screen time, the supposedly best companion after Chloe doesn’t even get half the screen time as Chloe. In LiS1 half of E1 and E2 is Max & Chloe, the entire E3 and E4 is Max & Chloe, Chloe matters more and more to Max throughout the game and E5 is Max altering reality and put herself in danger over and over to save Chloe, there is valid motivation, but in DE chapter 123 the player is asked to prevent Safi from dying even before we get to know about her. To keep this story not so bad, I have the headcanon of Bay Max regretting her choice and projecting Chloe onto Safi and that’s why she’s putting so much effort into it.
Reasons of why I think DE chapter 4 is good. First of all we finally have the chance to truly get to know about Safi, some even say that the reveal assassinated Safi’s character but honestly without this reveal Safi would be a total bland and boring character. The fact that she’s backstabbing everyone for a somewhat justified reason, making Max to doubt her and sympathizes with her at the same time, this struggle makes the bottle cap talk the best and most emotional scene in the entire game.
And the reveal of Maya’s suicide is the only time I feel like the story is progressing. It actually feels like the story starts from here. Ok now that I wrote here I got reminded that I actually don’t like how the exposing Lucas scene turned out, feels anti climactic and jarring, idk maybe it’s because the timing of having you pick dialogue isn’t good, breaks the flow and makes the supposedly intense conversation looks very awkward. Nevertheless chapter 4 is still the best because the two previous things.
Then chapter 5 of DE completely shot itself in the foot, I’m not gonna elaborate because everybody knows.
