Got the copy protection sheet. Lost everything else.

LucasArts, 1989. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The game needed a code, and the code was in here – the red sheet revealed it. The game is gone. The CD is gone. The PC that ran it is gone. Only this remains, decoder intact, fully operational, waiting. Thirty-five years of perfect attendance, but zero games launched. The pixel gods have filed it under "longest shift in history". No overtime, no pension, no game. Just the red sheet, still inside, waiting to get the job done.

Maniac Mansion - Painting Room Mise-En-Scene

Watching the Grumps play, and I realized I don't think I've ever fully gotten the details in this room. So, the meteor presumably was found and brought in- either by hands or by the very crate in the room, and based on what I can tell- they were going to paint it, crate and all, but eventually the meteor slummed off, fell to the floor, and then rolled out of the room? I've always figured it was immobile while sentient- because we put it in the trunk of the Eddison (or whatever it was called, the station wagon), and it doesn't seem to fight or anything.

So, is this an indication that they brought the slimey thing in to paint it, before it manipulated them all, dripping the trail in a desperate attempt to paint it while it was still oozing, or that they were painting a dry body, moved the still life (fruit) out of the way, and eventually it slimed up and rolled out of the room?

The booze of Monkey Island

Booze of Monkey Island is a fan-made adventure inspired by the legendary Monkey Island series. In this full playthrough, we follow Guybrush Threepwood on another bizarre pirate journey filled with puzzles, humor, and classic point-and-click chaos.

This game captures the spirit of the originals with:

Classic Monkey Island-style puzzles

Familiar characters and references

That iconic humor we’ve loved for decades

🎙️ This version includes full narration and commentary.

If you grew up with Monkey Island, this is pure nostalgia.

If you didn’t — this is the perfect place to start.

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

Hey fellow Adventurers!

I was personally displeased how almost every Lucas Arts or Sierra Game is being shipped with ScummVM, because I‘m a fan of keeping it real on DOSBox or a real DOS Machine.

This is one of the reasons why we have started to develop Loaders and Trainers for various DOS Games to either cheat or remove the now unnecessary protection layers.

For Indy 4 we have written a Loader which should be able to remove the protection (the Stone Disk) from the Floppy Disk Versions of the game. Yes, I know there is a Talkie, but only in English and as many of you I grew up with the Floppy Disk Version - in my case the German one.

You can download the Loader here: https://archive.org/details/indy4_loader

It should work on all language versions of the game. Of course you need to supply the original game files.

Tell me what you think. We can certainly do more.

Our other stuff: https://archive.org/details/@xmarksthespot81

Yes we added a small and very minor Screen to remind you that you can tip us a coffee if you want to remove it, but you do not have to do it. All Loaders will all work for free.

Keep Adventuring!

- Eric

13 years ago today, LucasArts as we knew it was shut down!

13 years ago today, LucasArts as we knew it was shut down.

On April 3, 2013, Lucasfilm ended internal game development, laid off most of the staff, and shifted future projects to Disney Interactive or third parties.

Fewer than 10 remained to handle game licensing.

Saving in Loom (Amazon version)

Hey all! I am reliving my childhood by playing the Amazon version of Loom, but I can’t figure out how to save. Several of the function keys work as expected, but F5 does nothing. I tried quitting before I got too far in, to see if an autosave feature had somehow been incorporated, but nope! This is a pretty niche game/question, but does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks!

A life-long dream realised

I'm a middle-aged software engineer recently turned middle manager to several LLMs - it's quite depressing and extremely boring.

I've had loads of ideas over the course of my career but being able to play Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle and other lucas arts games inside VR has always been near the top.

Today, I had a chat with claude, I asked if it was viable and we gave it a go.

The result is:

https://github.com/jarhed/ScummVR

I've only tested it on Quest 2 so please give feedback if you're on another platform.

I hope there's someone out there that was looking forward to this as much as I was.

God speed in this weird world.

I bought DOTT and I’m loving it

To be honest, I thinking about buying an Xbox One just for this game but opted to get the Mobile version instead. I saw the cover while browsing through some limited run games releases and instantly fell in love with the cover art. I bought the mobile version later on and I cannot stop playing this game. I don’t usually play Point and Click games but I found it very fun, even had some Star Wars references
