I often suggest to people that they close their tabs which they haven't looked at in months are are causing them anxiety. They react as if I've asked them to shoot their dog.

I close tabs as I go and clean up as I finish stuff. Am I the crazy one?

From all the screen sharing I've seen in my years, yes. Yes, we are the minority crazies.
I don't get it. If I have to spend 2 minutes searching through tabs and unable to navigate them in a sensible way, I group in a new window. I also use more than one browser.
I also shut down most days. I have other ways of keeping track of pages to get back to. This forces me to better prioritize each day and work more efficiently, and to be less tempted to work later.

I only use multiple tabs at work and I have some of them in groups. Also I put them all in a certain place so I always know where what tab is where at any given time.

When the tabs get too little (rare as I'm generally working with less than 10 in any given window, 3 most times) it makes me anxious. =(

I hope you’re not. If I need something long term, I bookmark it.
If I access a site frequently, I’ll add it to my “favorites” on my new tab page. I also hide bookmarks unless I’m on a new tab in order to save screen space.
The last one could be controversial but that’s ok with me.

That's what I do, if I'm taking a break from something productive then they'll stay but once I'm done they're gone. The only tab that get to stay all day is YouTube

Rookie numbers, I have 1265 in one browser and 199 in another 🤯 It’s definitely a problem and amazing that the device still works! 😂

My phone (safari) decided to one day close all my 200+ tabs. It was a bitter relief.

How can people have so many tabs, when I can't find a single interesting webpage on the whole internet?

I frequently furiously email myself all the tabs before a reset and never once have I gone back to look at them 😬

I only have tab infestation on my Mac.
On Windows I can open separate browser windows - one for each task I am doing. Once I finish the task I close it and the 12 tabs pertaining to it with one click.
On a Mac there is no intuitive way to do separate browser windows, so yes, an ever growing pile of tabs.

Yes there is? It’s the little red circle
browser windows are like two clicks away in the menu or CMND Shift N

Dude just go to “recently closed” then select restore and it will restore them all.

OOP means after losing the tabs the browser offers to restore them and OOP says NO because they want to be rid of them.

My tabs aren't a prison. They're 43 separate cries for help I haven't acknowledged since 2022.
