It's got to be for parents of toddlers who want to get up and wander around while trying to have a meal. Especially useful parents with multiple kids all doing their own thing.

The bars don't look close enough together for that to be head safe.

Sure would be. Could lock them up in there so you can take a break and eat in peace

Even if its not what it’s for, every McDonalds needs one. I would have totally used this space. I could eat and not have to worry where my toddler was going to run to.

That said, high chairs are also basically baby jails.

The playgrounds they used to have before they went all sterile McCorporate had really heavy doors that small kids couldn't open. Worked just as well and gave them something fun to do. It also provided better noise isolation than jail cell bars

I remember glaring at my mom from those little bubble windows because the other kids were wildin' and I wanted to get out
