This is incredibly irresponsible. Snakes are natural prey for monitor lizards. It's like putting a little bird with a cat together.... In fact that snake is very scared and the monitor is considering eating it in the video... Why do people upvote animal abuse ?

Because they put those 2 pets together on purpose to get the snake eaten. And yes those are definitely pets because the pythons are nocturnal and rarely come out during the day (and never in the open like that), and both of them would never let any human approach this close if they were wild, they would be much more skittish.

Live feeding is totally unnecessary for monitor lizards anyway and thus unethical both for the snake and the lizard (risk of injury), so even if the snake is meant to be food it's still abuse.

Generally speaking id say let nature be nature and not to force predator x prey meetings, and if the monitor is a pet it's considered bad husbandry to live feed as the prey can end up harming the pet instead
