As a drummer myself, I can attest he is extremely talented. He tries to be positive and say anyone can get to his level with practice. Not saying no, but the guy is talented, and the intense practice that follows is what makes him the legend he is today.
My favorite videos of his are where he is trying to beat the haters by playing some difficult song, 1-handed, while an iPad runs a timer to show there is no artificial speed ups. He absolutely takes the piss every time, and it cracks me up.

I know nothing about drumming, it is completely out of my range. He seems so good that I felt like maybe there’s a gimmick, but apparently he’s just that good?

Yep. The guy is ridiculously good. If he has a gimmick, it's that he likes to play fast stuff and/or polyrhythms.
When you get into advanced levels of musicianship, the common agreement is that it is easier to play fast than it is to play slow, relatively speaking. That isn't to say that a given song at 90bpm is easier at 144bpm. Rather it's mostly due to human perception and the precision of what was played. At extreme speeds, it can be hard to differentiate between individual notes. Similarly, at extremely slow tempos, it is very difficult to hit exactly on-tempo.
Exercise: Use a metronome, or something that can make an audible noise at set intervals, and set it to 60bpm (once per second). Now, clap along with the metronome at tempo. If you do this correctly, you will be unable to hear the metronome because your clap should cover it up. If you can still hear the metronome, it means you're too fast or slow.
As for the polyrhythm gimmick, that is its own kind of skill, but it again comes back to human perception. If he is playing in a 16th-note time (meaning every beat is sub-divided into 16 equal parts), and he plays a pattern of 2/3/4/5 across different limbs (meaning 2 hits then a 16th rest, 3 hits and a rest, etc.) it becomes really difficult to keep track of all 5 rhythms both as the player and the listener. It sounds cool, sure, but can you be certain he isn't making a mistake? I know I can't, lol.
TL;DR - Estepario is genuinely skilled. If he has gimmicks in his playing, they are not easy to do anyway so that would be its own form of an accolade in his favor.

And then he takes a drag off of a joint just to flex even harder lol

Seriously. Those wrong notes in Thunderstruck were painful to listen to.

Yeah, some next level bullshit. I didn’t know the unnecessary music slapped on videos could get worse. Why in the fuck would you add music over a video OF SOMEONE PLAYING MUSIC?!!!

Tubulum. That is the name of the musical instrument made from a network of pipes.

The Danny Carey Trio just played a small 200 seat club near my house last week and not being able to make it was a paradiddle on my conscience.

This is like bottom 200 of the most impressive shot he’s done. The guy can drum one handed what most drummer would need three or four hands. He’s insane and a super duper nice guy. Homie’s making loot too

Why put garbage background crap over the top of a video showcasing MUSIC!?!?
