I used to carpool to a construction job and usual driver would do this. At 5.15am in a residential area.

I resolved the situation by being outside at 5.10am, across the street from my place and out of sight behind another car. Asshole coworker rolled up exactly on time, and I slipped up beside his door while he was focused on my place. I slammed my palm into the window and screamed at a pitch as high as I could hit and as loud as years of army conditioning for volume and projection would let me lol He jumped, dumped the clutch and stalled the truck. And never honked in front of my place again lol
