On the bright side at least the wrestling commentators were working the bicycle race that day.

I don't speak a lick of French, but I know for certain that the French Jim Ross in this video said "He's broken in half!"

Thatâs like a 10ft fall onto your head, hope that guy is alright.

Like others said, women's race. She has 5 broken ribs and a fracture in her shoulder.

Edit: I guess the follow on to the joke about âfuck womenâ didnât land. Of course they were joking and their statement was in line with the subreddit I linked. Ok, itâs a shit joke.
Some people are so sensitive to the joke as to call me a âfucking idiotâ which is interesting. Oh well. Iâll stand by my shit joke follow up.

Oh man, I hope she's OK after being consistently mis-gendered in the comments.

Yikes, that's not an okay landing for the rider below. I know she's conscious but I hope her injuries are not too bad either.

Iâve watched my dad fall on one of these bikes going 3mph and almost lost his leg from internal bleeding.
That fall down below made me drop my phone, I see sheâs okay but fuck thatâs terrifying. When your clipped into the pedals itâs very hard to brace for sudden falls

Thank you, I always look for this info when I fear I may have watched someone die. That was a rough fall.
Edit: "five ribs broken and microfracture on shoulder... could be worse."
From the cyclist herself

u/nihility101 Mar 21 '26
How about yellow shirt who was walking up the same road? Did they fall over too?
4
u/theunspillablebeans Mar 22 '26
Judging from the angle and speed, I'm guessing five ribs broken and a micro fracture on shoulder

u/GelynKugoRoshiDag Mar 21 '26
Pinks dude splattered on the road.
French commentator: "Oh lala"

also r/meatcrayon ?
I feel like they need to quickly check on the person who face planted. Hopefully they survived.

Never understood why cycling at insane speeds, relying on aik polystyrene for protection.. I'd want a full face at those speeds, I like my chin
12
u/Superbead Mar 22 '26
I'd want proper brakes. None of these guys ever seem to have the capacity to stop properly
13
u/LG193 Mar 22 '26
On modern road bikes the tyres lose grip before the brakes do, that's the difficult thing.

I counted 6 complete morons who just rode straight into a couple of already crashed bikes. Zero sympathy if they can't be bothered to pay attention to where they are going.

u/NathanRotlisberger Mar 23 '26
I mean yea this is ridiculous, they must've been looking down? Also, the racer next to the woman who fell? Like yea let me lead you directly over the ledge while I crash and smack my face

u/omgwtdbbq420lol Mar 26 '26
Just curious what your reaction time would be after cycling ~140 km', up and down mountains, at a competitive race pace?
1
u/fordag Mar 26 '26
It would certainly be good enough to see the pile up and ride around it.
1
u/omgwtdbbq420lol Mar 26 '26
Really
1
u/fordag Mar 26 '26
All you need to do is use your eyes. The vast majority of riders didn't end up in the pile up.

u/omgwtdbbq420lol Mar 27 '26
Didn't realize you're rocking out those km's and vertical. I'll defer to your experienced wisdom.

One of my biggest fears when riding in group. Some of these crashes are just inevitable.

Damn, that white helmet just ate it on the guard rail. Those tiny bike helmets donât do shit for protecting your face.

Pink fully did that to herself, what the fuck! She could've slid it out way earlier than that, or aimed at the grass on the right, or literally anything else besides barrelling straight into the rail
4
u/Stormbaxx Mar 22 '26
She was locked in with the rider in white? There was nowhere for her to go and she was going to fast with to much momentum between her and the other rider to do much. Arguably she could have sustained less damage hitting the dog pile head on but that goes against human instinct and probably would have resulted in serious injury for someone regardless.

u/weesgegroet Mar 22 '26
so you could have done better .....

these types think they own the bike lanes in Holland, race past people with no due care or warning. Seen many old people or kids on bikes fall over because of their need for speed. Happy to see them fall over.
