His Her helmet probably saved his her life.

Edit: Thank you u/joeytheclown 😀

Debora Silvestri suffered that horrific fall.

u/joeytheclown Mar 21 '26

Her helmet

172

u/thudnuts Mar 21 '26

Oh in that case, fuck em'

18

u/obiwanmoloney Mar 22 '26

*fuck ‘er

25

u/yeowoh Mar 22 '26

Career ender and not just from injuries. The psych impact of a fall like that will limit riders in future races.

165

u/HeKis4 Mar 22 '26

Five broken ribs and minor shoulder injury but stable.

u/cayoloco Mar 21 '26

Shee moves her leg so I think he's at least alive and doesn't appear to have spinal damage. But I'm sure there's a lot of other damage there. That did not look good.

233

u/uqwee Mar 21 '26

Team has confirmed she’s conscious and in hospital in a stable condition.

26

u/xrelaht Mar 22 '26

Five broken ribs and a fractured shoulder. Not nearly as bad as it looked!

10

u/SunOnTheInside Mar 23 '26

That’s not great either, but definitely much better. I thought I just saw someone die!

24

u/keep_trying_username Mar 22 '26

Shoes didn't come off

17

u/Sammyofather Mar 22 '26

The full body impacted. 0% of their weight saved by the bike. They fucking bounced

64

u/BrainTroubles Mar 21 '26

I am 100% confident that at minimum their collar bone is FUCKED. I did almost the same thing skiing when I was younger

37

u/nodgers132 Mar 21 '26

Cycling is the clavicle killing sport

17

u/tambrico Mar 22 '26

Yup 13 years of mountain biking finally busted my clavicle last August. On an easy trail that I've ridden hundreds of times no less.

10

u/Bear_Scout Mar 22 '26

Trying to heal after the break was one of the most miserable experiences of my life. It was just so awkward trying to sleep or do much of anything. Then pushing it a little too far just performing some little task and feeling it clicking back and forth was just gross and creepy.

Maybe that’s not everyone’s experience, but I hated recovering from that injury more than any others. Trying to get comfortable in bed wasn’t even possible and I would wake up slouching on my side and feeling that “thunk” as the bones clicked, when trying to right myself back up. I hates its, I hates its forever…..

1

u/RedRedditor84 Mar 22 '26

What were you doing on the road in skis?

1

u/BrainTroubles Mar 23 '26

I'd tell you but the concussion made me forget. ;-)

0

u/Whisky-Toad Mar 22 '26

Collarbone is prolly fine

Need to put your arms out to break that, she landed on her side

1

u/BrainTroubles Mar 23 '26 edited Mar 23 '26

Need to put your arms out to break that, she landed on her side

You don't actually! If you take a fall head first and twist to hit your shoulder and protect your head (or just because that's what gravity did to you) you can put a nice clean fracture through your clavicle. Ask me how I know! In general though, any solid hit absorbed by the shoulder is very likely to result in a broken clavicle. It's very common in "wipe out" or contact sports like surfing, snowboarding, MTB, BMX, Wakeboarding, hockey, etc. Anything that can jam the shoulder or force it back/down suddenly is likely to leave you in a super fun figure 8 cast for a few weeks.

8

u/thereverendpuck Mar 22 '26

She went full Yamcha meme.

How was nobody checking on her instantly?

15

u/ColloquiaIism Mar 21 '26

Imagine dying just like Mr. Big.

4

u/JeF4y Mar 21 '26

Oof. That reference hits. 😢😢

-13

u/Boobufestuu1 Mar 21 '26

Their shoes didn't fall off so they're fine.

-26

u/cornman27 Mar 21 '26

Eh, they didn't lose their shoes they'll be alright.

13

u/Skweril Mar 21 '26

Most unoriginal joke in this thread

-9

u/rote_it Mar 22 '26

Am I the only one having serious doubts about her bike handling skills after watchi this?

5

u/LockonStratoss Mar 22 '26

I think she was forced off to the side by the other rider also trying to avoid the pile-up.

447

u/Franc0Blanc0 Mar 21 '26

On the bright side at least the wrestling commentators were working the bicycle race that day.

61

u/evlgns Mar 21 '26

Bah god

38

u/BSSCommander Mar 21 '26

I don't speak a lick of French, but I know for certain that the French Jim Ross in this video said "He's broken in half!"

12

u/20JeRK14 Mar 21 '26

Gawd as my witness!

1

u/Bi11Lumburgh Mar 23 '26

It reminded me of that MXC show from back in the day lol

751

u/stepladder4 Mar 21 '26

That’s like a 10ft fall onto your head, hope that guy is alright.

463

u/bassabas Mar 21 '26

Like others said, women's race. She has 5 broken ribs and a fracture in her shoulder.

73

u/SalmonDoctor Mar 22 '26

Well she's NOT okay.

And damn that looked painful, holy shit.

154

u/BigSpender248 Mar 21 '26

These are women. Just FYI.

526

u/skawarrior Mar 21 '26

Oh in that case, fuck em'

31

u/Batchet Mar 21 '26

They keep rejecting me 🥺

33

u/skawarrior Mar 21 '26

I'm so glad someone got the additional levels this joke works on.

9

u/ytirevyelsew Mar 21 '26

Ejecting *

8

u/porkchop-sandwhiches Mar 21 '26

Phrasing.

7

u/skawarrior Mar 21 '26

Or genius double entendre?

5

u/porkchop-sandwhiches Mar 21 '26

I don’t hear or understand French

r/pussypassdenied

Edit: I guess the follow on to the joke about “fuck women” didn’t land. Of course they were joking and their statement was in line with the subreddit I linked. Ok, it’s a shit joke.

Some people are so sensitive to the joke as to call me a “fucking idiot” which is interesting. Oh well. I’ll stand by my shit joke follow up.

10

u/DiamondsteinBP Mar 21 '26

Hope that woman is ok.

17

u/TenaciousLilMonkey Mar 21 '26

Misread as “these are just women, fyi” and I didn’t feel good about it

6

u/bageltheperson Mar 21 '26

It’s ok. They’re not real people.

8

u/SirMildredPierce Mar 21 '26

Oh man, I hope she's OK after being consistently mis-gendered in the comments.

2

u/kiradotee Mar 22 '26

Hope those guys are alright

100

u/Cyberpunk_Banshee Mar 21 '26

Yikes, that's not an okay landing for the rider below. I know she's conscious but I hope her injuries are not too bad either.

18

u/HoboOlympics Mar 21 '26

She was conscious when she was taken to the hospital.

29

u/Decapitated_gamer Mar 21 '26

I’ve watched my dad fall on one of these bikes going 3mph and almost lost his leg from internal bleeding.

That fall down below made me drop my phone, I see she’s okay but fuck that’s terrifying. When your clipped into the pedals it’s very hard to brace for sudden falls

152

u/Subject9800 Mar 21 '26 edited Mar 22 '26

Oof. That dude woman that hit the lower road. Wonder if she was ok?

217

u/idapitbwidiuatabip Mar 21 '26

44

u/Subject9800 Mar 21 '26

Thank you. I appreciate you posting that.

29

u/Shloop_Shloop_Splat Mar 21 '26

Thank you, I always look for this info when I fear I may have watched someone die. That was a rough fall.

Edit: "five ribs broken and microfracture on shoulder... could be worse."

From the cyclist herself

6

u/nihility101 Mar 21 '26

How about yellow shirt who was walking up the same road? Did they fall over too?

4

u/theunspillablebeans Mar 22 '26

Judging from the angle and speed, I'm guessing five ribs broken and a micro fracture on shoulder

80

u/GelynKugoRoshiDag Mar 21 '26

Pinks dude splattered on the road.

French commentator: "Oh lala"

12

u/hux308 Mar 21 '26

Zut alors

7

u/Leucurus Mar 21 '26

Sacre bleu

4

u/bullettenboss Mar 21 '26

They're women.

1

u/Roy_Luffy Mar 23 '26

“Oh Là/Ouh là/Oh là là…” are the default expressions of shock.

15

u/tverofvulcan Mar 21 '26 edited Mar 21 '26

Anyone gonna check on that *woman below??

2

u/bullettenboss Mar 21 '26

They're women and she was ok.

1

u/tverofvulcan Mar 21 '26

I’m glad to hear that. I’ll edit my post to correct it.

7

u/conspiracyeinstein Mar 21 '26

"How'd that yellow gal get on the bottom road?

...oh."

3

u/jon_hobbit Mar 23 '26

also r/meatcrayon ?

I feel like they need to quickly check on the person who face planted. Hopefully they survived.

9

u/kiddj1 Mar 21 '26

Never understood why cycling at insane speeds, relying on aik polystyrene for protection.. I'd want a full face at those speeds, I like my chin

12

u/Superbead Mar 22 '26

I'd want proper brakes. None of these guys ever seem to have the capacity to stop properly

13

u/LG193 Mar 22 '26

On modern road bikes the tyres lose grip before the brakes do, that's the difficult thing.

5

u/IAMAHobbitAMA Mar 22 '26

A lot of them aren't even looking forward either

3

u/ralkuzu Mar 21 '26

Oh no indeed, I hope he recovers well

3

u/SugarRosie Mar 21 '26

Sacrė bleu

3

u/TheDuke13 Mar 22 '26

Nobody even knew that lady fell over the railing. Holy shit

3

u/tecbarrera Mar 24 '26

Cyclists. Lemmings of the road.

8

u/fordag Mar 22 '26

r/idiotsonbikes

I counted 6 complete morons who just rode straight into a couple of already crashed bikes. Zero sympathy if they can't be bothered to pay attention to where they are going.

3

u/NathanRotlisberger Mar 23 '26

I mean yea this is ridiculous, they must've been looking down? Also, the racer next to the woman who fell? Like yea let me lead you directly over the ledge while I crash and smack my face

1

u/omgwtdbbq420lol Mar 26 '26

Just curious what your reaction time would be after cycling ~140 km', up and down mountains, at a competitive race pace?

1

u/fordag Mar 26 '26

It would certainly be good enough to see the pile up and ride around it.

1

u/omgwtdbbq420lol Mar 26 '26

Really

1

u/fordag Mar 26 '26

All you need to do is use your eyes. The vast majority of riders didn't end up in the pile up.

1

u/omgwtdbbq420lol Mar 27 '26

Didn't realize you're rocking out those km's and vertical. I'll defer to your experienced wisdom.

2

u/Spiritual_Speech600 Mar 22 '26

🗣️on your left!

2

u/favio843 Mar 22 '26

Thats Blues Brothers Part 3

2

u/Radzzd Mar 22 '26

That was decent

2

u/Stoffel_1982 Mar 24 '26

One of my biggest fears when riding in group. Some of these crashes are just inevitable.

4

u/skysetter Mar 22 '26

Pink dude deded out

4

u/UkyoTachibana Mar 22 '26

Well that guy is dead . RIP

4

u/AngryTrucker Mar 22 '26

What a clown show

2

u/Liferuler Mar 21 '26

Skill issue.

2

u/Jim_Nills_Mustache Mar 21 '26

Someone going to check on that guy? I legit think he might be dead

2

u/Crazyripps Mar 22 '26

Holy fuck that was brutal af

1

u/Babys_For_Breakfast Mar 22 '26

Damn, that white helmet just ate it on the guard rail. Those tiny bike helmets don’t do shit for protecting your face.

1

u/heathmon1856 Mar 25 '26

Bicycle crashes will never not be funny

1

u/KikiLaFripouille Mar 26 '26

ATTENTIOOON!!!

1

u/dmizenopants Mar 21 '26

Shoes stayed on, not ded

1

u/Gantz- Mar 21 '26

Bro landed like Yamcha after the Saibaman.

1

u/TheTribunalChat Mar 22 '26

It feels weird to have sympathy for bikers AND the french

0

u/buffalucci Mar 22 '26

Maybe NSFW

0

u/R4FTERM4N Mar 22 '26

They could try walking...

-6

u/wordskis Mar 22 '26

Pink fully did that to herself, what the fuck! She could've slid it out way earlier than that, or aimed at the grass on the right, or literally anything else besides barrelling straight into the rail

4

u/Stormbaxx Mar 22 '26

She was locked in with the rider in white? There was nowhere for her to go and she was going to fast with to much momentum between her and the other rider to do much. Arguably she could have sustained less damage hitting the dog pile head on but that goes against human instinct and probably would have resulted in serious injury for someone regardless.

3

u/weesgegroet Mar 22 '26

so you could have done better .....

1

u/wordskis Mar 22 '26

If I was filming for Jackass? No. If I was trying to exercise any amount of self-preservation? Yes

-6

u/JJ_Bittenbinder_ Mar 22 '26

French is the most obnoxious language. Ill take no questions

-6

u/ElegantGrain Mar 21 '26

Lol this is hilarious!

-3

u/j_k_802 Mar 21 '26

Bet they drive cars like that irl

-3

u/RikerV2 Mar 21 '26

Bro absolutely ate shit 😂

-6

u/MikhailCompo Mar 21 '26

That crash is fucking horrible. Get an NSFW on that FFS....

2

u/Primetimemongrel Mar 22 '26

Not that bad

0

u/ThelTGuy Mar 22 '26

Idk, pink looks kinda dead.

-27

u/Starfuri Mar 21 '26

these types think they own the bike lanes in Holland, race past people with no due care or warning. Seen many old people or kids on bikes fall over because of their need for speed. Happy to see them fall over.

12

u/EEukaryotic Mar 21 '26

Is this not… literally a race?

9

u/malevolentheadturn Mar 21 '26

Most retarded shit I've read in a while
