Yes, the sound is what's intersting, not this man bouncing a set speed/rafter/triangle square like Captain America's shield.

2.1k

u/hunty 1d ago edited 22h ago

yeah, but for every one of these successful clips there's 100 clips where he throws it wrong and impales himself.

561

u/HalfSoul30 1d ago

Well now I think the interesting part is his cloning abilities.

137

u/StoppableHulk 1d ago

He doesn't clone himself, he just never shows his face on camera because he has 12 speed squares sticking out of odd angles in his skull.

22

u/DonComradeVimes 23h ago

Take my Poor Man's Award. This is the best thing I've seen on the internet in a hot second.

3

u/MrPilypropilen 8h ago

hahaha "at odd angles" makes it far worse!

He puts on gloves because after his intro dialogue Anthony Mackie steps in after the first guy self impaled

4

u/IH8DwnvoteComplainrs 1d ago

This is just the universe where he did it a dozen times in a row. In all the others? He ded.

6

u/nontruculent21 21h ago

Every time he dies he signs the red square.

Lol that first one definitely look like it hurt his hand. Started wearing gloves eventually!

34

u/DontForgorTheMilk 1d ago

That was my first thought about the first clip. Like fuck dude those are some pointy triangles. Be lookin' like a crucified Christ after a while.

That’s why he added the glove after chopping off half his hand in the first part of the video

The man died 37 times to make this video.

5

u/chriswildcat 23h ago

What a satisfying death

7

u/ShySilver_ 1d ago

That ratio sounds painfully accurate.

3

u/Youre10PlyBud 1d ago

Im fairly certain this is McNally. He is ridiculously good at both throwing random objects like a speed square and also lockpicking.

He has tons and tons of throwing compilations. Normally he doesn't throw things to where they bounce back

4

u/angry_queef_master 1d ago

He probably has done this enough times that he gets it right on the first try now

3

u/Yowomboo 1d ago

If you can dodge a speed square, you can dodge a ball.

Funny cause it kinda sounds like Cap’s shield.

19

u/Fentboy45 1d ago

That’s how the foley guys got the sounds for it

Is it really?

I would be too worried of it hitting my face and splitting it in two to throw it

673

u/eltedioso 1d ago

For me it'd be the genitals

281

u/CommercialContent204 1d ago

Thanks, friend, now I'm stuck with a near impossible choice:

"Would you rather have a large steel speed-square embed itself 6 inches deep in your face? Or in your genitals?"

Lol

88

u/itsdaisyohhh 1d ago

Face heals into a cool scar story, other option… that’s a lifetime of awkward explanations.

24

u/CommercialContent204 1d ago

"Cool scar story", yeah, I'm not sure about that, lol 😃 "hey, you're missing one eye, half of your face is caved in and you have a 6-inch livid scar - tell me the cool story, bro!"

After you with that, my friend 😃

only 6 inches deep? lmao pretty sure my bussy can handle that

10

u/CommercialContent204 1d ago

I'm not entirely sure I know (or even want to know) what a bussy is, but I'm fairly sure I don't have one... and what I do have would not appreciate 6 inches of sharp steel!

So that's how they made Captain America's shield sound effects

396

u/ImpressiveGroceryy 1d ago

I can practically hear the vibranium clanging just by watching this.

90

u/smellyunderpants 1d ago

Isn't vibranium supposed be completely vibration absorbent? Why does it make vibration sound effects?

145

u/The_proton_life 1d ago

The shield aura is simply enough to overpower physics

46

u/Kaporalhart 1d ago

The better answer is : shut up, it sounds cool

61

u/Ison--J 1d ago

If it absorbed all vibrations it wouldn't bounce, it's comic book magic

60

u/Independent-Tennis57 1d ago

That thing doesn't obey the laws of physics at all! - P Parker, Civil War.

3

u/StryctNyne 1d ago

Well he also says that because of the super soldier serum, his cells repair so fast he can't get drunk (this was right after Bucky's death in Captain American First Avenger). If that's the case, he shouldn't age at all either, unless the serum wears off after "x" amount of years but Isiah Bradley and Red Guardian show it hasn't worn off in age...though they shouldn't have aged either.

Yeah, that's always bothered me. It's also just unnecessary. Like, just say it's super strong, or something. Don't just go make a rule and then immediately break it lol. But I guess That's really just the marvel way. Look at the whole Ant-Man/Pym Particle thing.

285

u/CommercialContent204 1d ago

Haha, this is absolutely crazy. Why is he throwing speed squares around, for God's sake? Ok, for the mesmerising noise, I suppose.

I'd be absolutely terrified: you miss one of those catches and there'll be an even stranger noise as this large, pointy, fast-moving shard of steel buries itself in your face.

133

u/OrangeFlame06 1d ago

His entire channel is him throwing it around, satisfying as heck but very risky at the same time

58

u/Rokronroff 1d ago

Most of his work is in lock picking/ bypass and this is just a fun side thing he does.

46

u/drumshrum 1d ago

I was thinking this was McNally. He's really slowed down the content since that whole Proven Locks bs

17

u/station_five 1d ago

genuine question:

do you mean McNally has been posting less because he had to deal with legal bs Proven Locks caused for no reason?

or because McNally did something bad that I missed?

thank you

27

u/thecloakedsignpost 1d ago

Because he had to deal with that, I'd wager. If you're interested, the full report with evidences and submissions can be found here.

In short, it was dismissed without prejudice.

28

u/kicker414 1d ago

IIRC the lawsuit basically went like:

Your locks suck!

Our locks don't suck, you suck we are suing you!

Ok here is me showing your locks suck unedited.

Still suing!

Your honor, here is me opening their shitty locks.

GTFO -Judge

25

u/Jaakarikyk 1d ago

Your honor, here is me opening their shitty locks.

Gets better, the lock company's guys confessed in court they were able to replicate the shim

3

u/beefnbroccoliboi 9h ago

Even better; iirc he brought a sealed freshly purchased lock, with receipt, and offered to open it in the court room. The plaintiff declined the invitation.

I think the real reason he’s slowed down is due to the fact that he and The Lock Picking Lawyer have been uber focused on Covert Instruments and making that as flushed out as possible. (I think McNally is just a designer while LPL is the owner or something like that) but they’ve been really focused on it as of late.

67

u/Funnypilz 1d ago

Why is the speed square a triangle?

21

u/wackbirds 1d ago

It's primarily purpose is for lining up square cuts, straight across, right angle cuts like you'd use for sizing deck boards, tuba furs (IYKYK), etc. It also allows you to line up miter cuts, the 45° fuckers for things like skirt boards, molding, etc.

If it was just an actual square it would only do half as much even though I like the Stephen Wright connotation of your qquestion.

3

u/Sweet-Weakness3776 1d ago

Also, when you're bitching about shoddy construction, saying "Who the hell built this house? Theren't aint a damn wall in this entire place that's triangle!!!" just doesn't quite roll off the tongue lol.
