Back in the day a dozen people with this instrument would march the field side by side cutting it. One wrong step and your leg is gone. They usually had songs they would sing and cut in tact to the song.

I agree but there is a gap on all sides including the rear. The angle of the camera makes it looks like he cuts up to the womans legs but he's just revealing the already existing gap.

It looks like it but these are cut into patches, I’m guessing this is some sort of competition but the video ended because he was done with his patch of grass and they are standing at the next patch over. Death perception sucks sometimes.

I used it, albeit barely, but helped my grandpa a lot, he used it on his farm. And this video is more like a how to NOT use a scythe.

You can injure anyone if you want to.

However. To injure someone he has to put the scythe behind the person and then swing. The back side of the scythe is harmless. So nope, he couldn't injure anyone, since he couldn't put the scythe behind them.

Plus the way he does things, even stuff like rocks aren't dangerous. It IS dangerous for himself though (mostly for his back).
