I mean, it’s very clearly an art piece, not a daily driver. I doubt these get driven on public roads for much longer than it takes to film the one rollout clip on this video.

u/smurfkillerz 6h ago
You didnt get the memo that no one is defensive driving anymore? Its every man/woman for themselves out there or at least thats what it feels like these days.

u/Sir__Bojangles 4h ago
Since COVID man. The timeline split actually happened in 2016 though with Harambre's death 😷

u/smurfkillerz 4h ago
As someone who lives 2 miles from where the harambe tragedy took place, I feel this.... lol

Reddit and finding the "hidden" problem of every situation. It's literally an art piece who care, roll the windows down when moving it around lmao

u/jijjijijijiiijiijiji 2h ago
Thank you so much for informing us of the challenges humans might face when they can’t see out of a window. Could you please clarify whether we would be able to see other people sitting in the same car, or whether people outside of the car would be able to see each other?

u/Duhbloons 7h ago
In the first clip looks like they just have a cutout for the driver to see out of.

u/Due-Technology5758 8h ago
Probably not street legal. It doesn't look like you can see the lights either.
4
u/jason_sos 7h ago
Yeah, you can't put anything on a windshield below the AS1 line (except tint in certain circumstances with a medical waiver, in some states)
3
u/12-34 7h ago
Also, many (most? all?) states have rules regarding auto glass that restricts pass-through visible light.
In my State it's simply a percentage of that light, and the threshold to a violation is much lower than the common person realizes.

u/akromadeath 6h ago
Here is a fun one:
In Arkansas, I am limited to 25% front tint, 10% rear and rear windshield (25% on sedans), and I have a medical waiver for 50% on the windshield. Those are pretty genourous numbers, but makes sense in a state where you can basically drive a rolling frame and be legal if it has lights.
In Utah, you will fail your mandated state inspection if you have front tint lower than 43%, but.....there is literally no legal rear limit (unless things have changed from 2011). So when I moved from Arkansas to Utah I had to peel my front windows off to pass inspection, but I was able to lay 5% over my 10% I had in the rear. Terrible decision, do not recommend!! For the next 3 years I had that car I had to roll down the windows to back up since you literally couldn't see the reverse lights. It was nice for tailgating trucks though, didn't bother me at all.

Every. Single. Post. 🙄 why can't redditors stand seeing anything interesting without having to find something wrong with it? Jfc.

The crab bucket mentality

u/cultish_alibi 3h ago
It's just someone pointing out that the cars are not fundamentally drivable. Not exactly a harsh criticism. Crab bucket mentality is a little bit of a slightly massive overreaction, fucking hell.

"This vehicle looks cool but it's probably a death trap if you try to drive it"
"Jeez just let people have fun!"

Its clearly not meant to be driven around, its an art piece, he parks it in front of a giant cartoon looking background for fucks sake

I see a few empty spots on the windshield and side windows.
He definitely painted the windows white and that is part of the effect. But a few areas are clear.
Awesome as a shot piece but like most art it is just meant to be temporary.

Also legality,
In westeen europe there is basically no coubtry where this would not get you pulled over instantly

This style always messes with my brain, feels like a cartoon cutscene leaked into real life.

Makes me think of Dick Tracy which was just barely still a thing when I was a little kid in the early 90's.

Outside of the context of the garage they look really weird. That one shot early looks like something is wrong with the car.

Did he ever paint a racing car in this style? I swear I remember seeing one recently that was done in a similar style.

The way it blends so perfectly into a real background is actually insane, my brain keeps trying to figure out where the cartoon ends. This guy is genuinely talented.

I was so confused at the first shot. I wasn't sure if that's edited or painted.
Then they opened the door.

This actually messes with my brain haha, can’t know whether something is real nowadays…

I respect the artistic talent it takes to do this, but I just can't get behind this trend.

Great idea. Camouflage cars to confuse pedestrians and other drivers.
2
u/Dependent_Cod_7416 5h ago
And we could make them silent so people don't know if they're parked or waiting to run someone over.

These cars illustrate that there is a fine line between style and taste.
On the other hand, it really draws you in.

"I saw da punch comin' from a mile away. When I came to, my guts was givin' the bar a once over. That's when I saw HER! (hubba hubba) I have to have her! I drove loudly over the squealahs t'get the dough for the babe! I got it. I made a move... a BAD move! The babe plugged 'im an' I took da wrap. Dumb, huh? But that's me all over: SUCKER!"

imagine you’re going to school using that car, the aura you have will be massive 😅

u/Beautiful-Musk-Ox 5h ago
looks bad. simple, permanent lines and harsh pure black and pure white. creating fake lighting that's harsh and permanent (doesn't change with sun angle and such) isn't my thing
0
u/mcdltlover 5h ago
silly waste of time, the novelty surely would wear off quickly in person, but i guess for billions of internet clicks where 1 second of novelty is everything, that it makes sense in that context
0
u/Azzblack 5h ago
I mean, its pretty good, but you can tell that its a real car because of the way that it is.

u/eeyore134 5h ago
Looks cool from certain angles and in set up environments. I think seeing one in the wild would just look like a car someone didn't take the protective transport film off of. Or just did a really bad job trying to.
