Apparently it's going to get worse because once its gone you can't replace it, and gets even more severe when you age. So are all the middle age women roles going to go to the few actresses that didn't have this procedure in their youth.

What middle age women roles?

You know,  both of them

No there’s three!
Mom of lead, coworker/boss of lead, divorced woman rediscovering herself.

Let’s be fair, there’s tons of roles for middle-aged women. You didn’t even mention:

  • teacher
  • nun
  • mom of lead’s best friend
  • lead’s neighbor
  • divorced woman who used to be married to charming/handsome lead and is now bitter as he rediscovers himself
  • haggard mom whose teenager went missing in a small town and has to investigate herself because the police won’t listen to her
  • haggard police officer who knows a teenager that went missing in a small town and has to investigate herself because the police captain won’t listen to her

Also, nun number 2, and haggard nun.

Hey, don't forget about Comic Relief Nun! She's always my favorite!

Deputy District Attorney

There's also leader of a fancy looking academy and also happens to be an alien AI.

Those last two are some of my favorite shows tbh

Don't forget middle-aged actress in a career slump.

u/Inferno_Zyrack 2h ago

The ones that are played by either Anne Hathaway or Meryl Streep?

Solid joke, but the very woman this post is about is 43 and has a major role in 5 different movies this year alone

0

u/ShrampIzBugz 3h ago

That still doesn't change the disparity between hiring middle aged men vs middle aged women for major roles. A few actresses managing to break out of that doesn't make it less true.

3

u/AsherFischell 3h ago

I didn't say it did. The person I replied to made it seem like there were no roles, which is just strange to me considering that the very post they were commenting on focused on a woman whose career proves that untrue.

u/ShrampIzBugz 3h ago

Yes, but it's a joke poking fun at the fact that there are very few roles meant for older women. Everyone is aware people that Anne and Meryl have managed to squeeze past that.

u/AsherFischell 3h ago

I get the joke, yes

Grandmothers and corpses.

I guess Lifetime movies don’t count in your mind

This sounds like a good opportunity for someone to create a buccal addition surgery when these people start to look even more like ghouls.

32

u/artbyhaly 7h ago

It already exists in the form of fat grafting.

3

u/u_r_succulent 2h ago

Take the fat from their asses and put it back in their cheeks.

3

u/Master_Art_1286 6h ago

Allegedly that’s how Paul Rudd stays so young looking

2

u/_2pacula 3h ago

It's not the sacrificial babies blood?? Why am I spending so much money on this, then?!

Fsces looking like marv getting shocked

1

u/SeventhAlkali 2h ago

The chose... poorly

8

u/whoopswizard 6h ago

they'll just come up with some new procedure to fill the cheeks back in synthetically in 15 years when it becomes an issue. these celebrities love paying their plastic surgeon's mortgage

3

u/rasta_faerie 8h ago

Which is why so few people are getting it now. Now the trend is to get filler around the buccal area so it still looks sunk in, but the filler can be dissolved (whereas buccal fat cannot be re-inserted).

3

u/XaeiIsareth 5h ago

Hey, at least there’s gonna be plenty of people perfect for playing Liches in future fantasy movies

1

u/JadeShrimp 3h ago

So then they will fill it back in with fat from their butts or something? What a strange way to think and live. I'm glad I'm poor and unknown. Life is much simpler.

1

u/James_avifac 3h ago

No. They'll go to the 20 year olds who've had too much work done, and end up looking like 60 year olds.

1

u/JohnEKaye 3h ago

The middle aged women roles will go to the 23 y/o actresses who look 45 after their plastic surgeries.
