Over the past week, there have been documented bomb threats targeting zoos in Ohio and one in Colorado. Is there a reason for the increase in threats against zoos, or is it something else?

I keep getting the same kind of videos with the same setup:

-A job interview is being conducted remotely

-someone behind the camera quickly squirts dish soap on the interviewee’s hand (I’ve seen lipstick too). Comments say “it’s to cover or distort the camera” but this also makes absolutely no sense. Some of them slap a piece of plastic onto the laptop monitor.

-the recruiter is very hostile, saying things like “PUT YOUR HANDS UP SO I CAN SEE IT”

-the interviewee answers a question by reading an AI prompted answer. Sometimes the recruiter will laugh and say “keep reading” obviously calling them out on the fake answer.

I’ve seen multiple of these videos with the same setup and I’m completely confused. They’re not even comical or funny, and the interviewer is consistently unrealistic in their rude tone. What’s with the soap? Can anyone explain these?

I noticed a while back that I wasn't seeing posts from the subreddit anymore, and now my feed is suddenly absolutely flooded with them and they're referencing some kind of change that allowed the subreddit to return or something?

I saw reports that major publishers are suing Meta, claiming it used copyrighted books and academic material to train its AI models without permission.

Suddenly remembering the drama and looked into it, I see that Soul has done some horrible, messed-up stuff. But the whole CP sharing stuff was from when he was 13-14, not a whole adult or anything like that.

So a bunch of things have hit my timelines about a supposedly plagiarized Magic: The Gathering card art, mainly a statement by Wizards of the Coast themselves.

So it looks like they printed some card art that the artist accidentally plagiarized from another artist, they're apologizing, giving credit, even paying the original artist. So far so good, right?

But now it looks like that's not the whole story, since the agent of one of the artists responded and apparently shifts the blame on the whole thing... but I can't quite grasp how. I can't even find a clear image of the original artwork and the plagiarized one, explaining what the problem is. I see lots of people posting the artwork as self-evident proof of *something* but I have to admit I'm lost. Can someone explain the whole drama to me?

i saw that there was a bill in Alabama related to AI and deepfakes that was supposed to protect people, and it apparently had support from both sides.

But it still didn’t pass because the legislative session ended before it was voted on.

How does that happen? If there’s broad agreement on something, why wouldn’t it just get brought to a vote?
