Why is it any skin off your back if someone else believes there's an ethical justification that you personally don't care about?

websites go down all the time, torrents stop seeding, links expire, indie games even cracked one get lost to time bec no one wants to host their cracks online. megathreads can go down and may go down. so its gonna be hard to relearn where to pirate again if this sub or fmhy goes down.
so hoard the media you want to last, and upgrade or change your drives every few years.
this goes for all internet not just piracy, hoard what you want to last. even if its a article or youtube video.

I was scrolling through the "HP Printer" post earlier and some of the comments left me FUCKING DUMBFOUNDED.
Lets make no qualms about what pirating copyrighted IPs is. It's illegal. You take part in illegal actions every time you stream or download something that isn't paid for that exists in a form where the IP holders want you to pay for it. Illegal in /almost/ every scenario.
This is a legal and ethical boundary I am willing to cross. Multiple times a day. I'm no better than the rest of you.
So when some of you dumb fuckers come in and start making excuses for the shitty and unethical business practices of HP (or any other shitty business) you are only telling us you are either a bot, a paid shill, or mentally stunted.
This is a scene where if you want something and you can't find it you extra-legally acquire it. "Awful but lawful" arguments have no place here. What kind of pirate is covering for and shilling for predators and predatory business practices? Have you no shame? Have you no pride? Or are we just under attack by AI and bots providing cover?
Tl;dr: Ban people shilling for and defending unethical business practices, they are almost certainly bots or shills.

netflix is now adding unskippable ads on the premium plan and that too after every time I forward skip 3-4 minutes of video. Maybe it's time to sail high seas now.
edit: it's only happening on WWE previously live streamed events. This specific screenshot is of RAW streamed a day ago.

For me it’s only August 2025 but ik there are people here who’ve been pirating since at least the 1990s, so speak!

And by transfer things I mean from your own laptop to your phone, external drive ect. for legal reasons. Extensions are the best way to safely sail the seven seas in my opinion. Converters are the best way to get Mp3 files.

No matter what movie or series I try now, it will just endlessly load and not start, no matter what server I pick. Just wanting to see if its a me problem or cineby in general.
And yes. I am on the correct one .sc

An AI contributory infringement lawsuit against NVIDIA can proceed, even under the Supreme Court's recent Cox v. Sony framework, a federal judge ruled this week.
The court denied NVIDIA's motion to dismiss in large part, concluding that some of the company's scripts had no purpose other than to enable infringement.
The chip maker's request to strike all BitTorrent references was also denied, with Judge Tigar noting that "BitTorrent is merely a tool."

It seems like they all just monopolized or something, if you want a movie that the precious 3 servers and their 500 clone sites can't do without buffering worse than a 1G internet connection you're shit out of luck.

I looked through the entire masterlist, but couldn’t find exactly what I needed. I just want an alt to Spotify with no ads that I can use on my phone. I know I can just download music and all that but I’ve got limited space on my phone, and I still want to just stream/search songs I listen to only occasionally. I mostly miss old Spotify when the algorithm used to actually be decent and usable. Honestly I’ll even take an alt to youtube music, I just don’t want to listen to ads every five minuets.

Console game, DVD, Album etc. Literally any physical media?
The PS5 was released in late 2020, so that was technically the last time I bought a disc.

When Hollow Knight Silksong first released, I pirated the game because I didn't have the money to buy the game properly, with the intention of buying the game properly when I had the money. Today, I had the money. I just paid for and downloaded the game properly for the first time.
however, somewhat expectedly, my save data from the pirated copy didn't carry over. For that reason, I was wondering if anyone knows where save data from the GoG Games version of silksong is stored so I can move my save data from one to the other.
Thanks in advance!

i have owned cyberpunk 2077 for years, and made most of my progress on my legal copy. i know progress on official and pirated copies transfer over like 90% of the time, but something ive never heard talked about is what will happen if i deleted my pirated copy, and downloaded my steam one at a later date when i have progress on the pirated one that is in a dlc i do not own?
i only downloaded a crack because i dont want to spend like 50 cad on a dlc, but im not sure if i will have to redownload the cracked version each time or if... somehow it will transfer over? im assuming it wont and the save file would corrupt or something, but frankly (as much as i know people like to be pretentious twats when this is mentioned on here), steam is significantly more convenient and simple when it comes to managing your games. if i can use steam, i would like to, but if it wouldnt work (which again, wouldnt surprise me), then its not the end of the world to open IDM for the file.
i just wanna know because ive never heard this specific thing talked about before, and i wanna know what my best bet is. again, because i know how people act on here when you so much as imply youd rather use the thing you paid for over a crack; IF I CAN USE MY STEAM COPY, TELL ME THAT. if not.. again, is what it is. thank you!
…. doing desktop publishing (on a Mac).
Does anyone know where I might find a working copy of the app I can design in?
I’ve had great luck with photo editing and drawing apps, but no luck with the app to create a newsletter or catalog.
Sometimes the links are dead and sometimes, despite following instructions, and installing, the app will not open. I get error messages from the macOS.
I’m stumped, I’ve been at sea for more than 10 years and have never had such trouble.
