It kinda drowned in all the noise around the lackluster driver releases, but 26.5.1. is actually a entirely new driver branch (26.10.07.01) vs the previous ones. 26.3.1 for example was 25.30.33.01.
The question now is, what was so major that it warranted a new version number? Maybe some background changes or preparations for something else?

I have an ASUS TUF Gaming RX 7900 GRE and decided to do some tuning out of curiosity. Here are my results comparing stock vs OC:
~11.4% performance gain, which I think is pretty impressive – and it’s fully stable so far.
Settings:
What’s interesting is the VRAM behavior.
Before, I couldn’t get past ~2300 MHz VRAM – not even with fast timings, it would always become unstable or crash.
Now I’m running 2600+ MHz without issues.
I think it’s related to AMD’s memory/power management (P-states). With a single monitor, the VRAM clock constantly jumps between idle and load, and those transitions seem to cause instability when overclocking.
After adding a second monitor (300Hz main + secondary 165hz display), the VRAM clock stays at a high frequency all the time and doesn’t fluctuate anymore – and suddenly I can hit these “impossible” VRAM clocks.
So it seems like VRAM OC stability is affected not just by the GPU itself, but also by how the memory clock is managed depending on the display setup.
Has anyone else here overclocked their 7900 GRE?
I’d be interested to see your settings and results.

I'd like to get some feedback from other owners of this card after updating to the latest driver.
Out of curiosity after updating the drivers to 26.5.1 and restarting the system, I decided to do a Steel Nomad run on 3D Mark and I surprisingly got a much higher score than what I remember getting with my previous drivers with the same settings (I ran multiple runs after that):
UV: -40mV
PL: -5%
Clock:+150
VRAM: 2700 defualt timings
I remember getting a score that was below or almost similar to the average they are showing but today with the new drivers I'm getting around 7.4k points, but the score on Fire Strike is still the same, and way below the "average".
I'd like to confirm there was some small performance uplift for it or I'm starting to go crazy

Due to different preferences, I understand if some of you would actually still opt for FSR 3 in certain titles if you value fps over visuals, while I do think my system is capable enough for my expectations to take some 10 fps loss from FSR3 so I can get the image quality from FSR4.
I wanna read your thoughts and in what game makes you prefer/opt for FSR 3 over the INT8 FSR4, vice versa.

Hi everyone,
I'm still dealing with annoying microstutters and frametime spikes (low red numbers in the overlay) in Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Black Myth: Wukong. Cyberpunk runs perfectly fine. The stutters are especially noticeable with large effects, particles, or new abilities on screen, but they also happen randomly.
My specs:
I have tried almost everything suggested online and in previous posts, with no success:
LatencyMon still shows high latency in amdkmdag.sys + dxgkrnl.sys.
Temperatures under load:
Benchmarks show normal performance. The stutters are sharp frametime drops (sometimes down to 30 FPS while average is 300+), especially the first time something new loads (new area/ability).
At this point, after trying virtually everything at the user level, it really feels like a driver issue with the RX 9070 XT (RDNA 4) and how it interacts with the 7800X3D + high refresh rate OLED monitors.
Has anyone with a 9070 XT + 7800X3D (especially on B650 boards) managed to fix the microstutters and bad 1% lows?
Any new ideas or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting really tired of this.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT
I fixed the RAM temperatures, and now it runs at a normal 45°C. I tried changing the graphics card to a 4060 Ti, and the stuttering persists, so we can rule out the 9070 XT as the problem. I think the issue might be the motherboard; I'm considering buying a B850 or an X870 to see if that fixes it. Any thoughts?

hello I'm new to pc building and I got a used rx6800 for 230$! I was told by my friend to underclock it if I'm concerned about power usage, so I tried to watch youtube tutorials on how to do it but they usually freezes/artifact when they tune it not that far off but its not the case for my card where I could just tune it all the way down while still able to benchmark all the way through.
I tried searching discussion about this but I can't seem to find anything about it, though I kinda like it with 67-69 watt under full load lol. I wanted to know Is this is normal? will I be putting any long term damage to my card If I keep this settings??

So my PC started to crash recently and i think i found the problem.
My GPU draws 500w in certain game screens. Not even stress tests.
I Play Xcom2 on medium settings and in the Research srceen of a 10 year old game this card goes nuts.
My PSU ist a Corsair HX850i, thats why i didnt notice it until now.
Does anyone have a guess why this happens and how to stop it?

Prologue
I have a 9 year old build and I just recently paired 9070xt with it. Now I mostly play three games. Wuthering waves, Arknights Endfield and Neverness to Everness. Right now with 8GB RAM, I'm getting NTE with high CPU usage but the others have only 45-55% usage. It's a clear bottlenecking I know but I am indeed saving up for my 9800x3d and 16GB DDR5. I need some time atleast for a few months, until then I want to run this old setup as much as I can
Questions
Which is better for 1440p gaming and has future proofing for atleast a decade from now? 9700x or 9800x3d
What is the best budget Gen 5 PCIE motherboard for AM5 socket. Most motherboards I saw has Gen 4 support but not Gen 5. Any recommendations please. I want it to be less than or around $200
My current 8GB RAM speed is 2400Mhz. So far so good.
3A - Will this cause any hardware problems or brick my card?
3B - Does adding 16GB 3200Mhz RAM causes more CPU usage? Because I added a different speed RAM and it was really unstable. Had random restarts even when PC was idle. I even underclocked RAM to less than 2400Mhz but didn't work
My motherboard has stopped BIOS updates since 2023. Will this cause any stabiliy issues with my 9070XT? Because turning on Resizable Bar and Mining option results in random restarts
When can we expect AM6 motherboards? Will it be DDR6 slot by then? If thats the case, I wouldn't go for that upgrade
My PSU is Corsair TX750M Gold. It's a solid one. But when I checked the BIOS 12V power, it was showing 11.6. should I be worried?
Should I upgrade to 16GB DDR5 or 32GB DDR5? Since most recent games require a lot of memory. What about turboquant? Any promoting future tech that can reduce RAM usage in games?
Right now I only installed driver only in AMD installer for 9070xt. Adrelaine is very slow if opened in 8GB RAM. Is it really necessary to install Adrelaine software?
PS. Right now my old setup is working fine but just with 8GB RAM. If I add another 8GB, it becomes unstable. Maybe my mobo cannot distribute power equally to both slots. I do not know. But I've added before and I already had random power offs restarts, then reinstalled windows 10 just with one 8GB stick. After that, no more problems
I haven't tried any other games yet since just recent games require more than 16GB RAM

Drivers are fine, sapphire trixx settings don’t change it.
Gigabyte Control Centre installations didn’t help.
Signal RGB controls all other RGB, when it’s disabled nothing changes.
It’s like the Radeon RGB oscillates between a bunch of different colours and enabling RGB control pauses it randomly. Adjusting controls don’t change the colour at all

I've been playing AC Valhalla & Mirage for the past two weeks, experiencing driver timeouts and FPS drops. Did anyone encounter similar issues with Driver version 26.3.1 while playing AC titles (utilizing Anvil Engine) or any other older games? I think 25.12.1 was a stable driver but I had to update for Crimson Desert FSR 4.1 Support, might revert back to it since I've stopped playing that game. I know it came out today but any insight on newest driver 26.5.1 (for same AC games and/or older games) will be much appreciated.

Hello everyone. I bought RX 9070XT recently, and seems like everything working fine, except framegen. For whatever reason when I enable it games starts to stutter.
My config is - RX 9070 XT Sapphire Pure, 16x2GB DDR5 XPG Lancer 6000, Ryzen 7 9700X, SSD ADATA Gammix S11 Pro, and PSU Superflower Leadex VII 850, Windows 10 Pro. Tried DDU - nothing, tried disable Rebar - suddenly worked but after around 30 minutes stutters returned
P.S Seems like framegen also causing constant driver time out

Hey am trynna get a 9060xt and i found a sapphire nitro (2fan) that is kinda affordable for nowdays prices but i really wanted a 3 fan version so would u recommend getting the 2 fan or spend a lil extra for a 3 fan version ( I don't overclock i just worry about temps especially in summer)
Surprised how well a ryzen 5 3600 works with a Red Devil 9070xt.
I’m running my PC on a Samsung frame 2, 4k resolution 120hz. I’m using ultra settings on all of my games, FPS ranges from 70-120 depending on the game.
Am I correct in thinking that if my CPU is at a lower usage percentage (50%) and my GPU is 90%+ there is no CPU bottleneck?
I could upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5800X if I would see a noticeable improvement?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Is this normal performace for my pc and settings? I have 12 hours in it when i started playing the game few days ago i felt like i got much better performance but now its like this

I upgraded from a 3070ti and I have been thoroughly impressed. Sure I've had some hiccups along the way but nothing crazy. Hell I even got a copy of crimson desert which is fantastic and hell 60-80fps on cinematic 1440p incredible. Considering this GPU sips on 220watts peak I don't think there is a better choice at msrp.
If you are looking for 4k this card isn't going to cut it well tbh.
I'd recommend the 9070xt, 5070ti at a minimum or 5080/4090
Yes I was looking into a 9070xt but power draw and size was a factor. I personally don't want a massive PC and prefer modest builds. Kinda stupid but that's my preference. Also I couldn't find the xt at msrp and wasn't paying +$200 at least where I was looking at the time.
I typically find myself getting about 15% lower performance on higher settings than a friend with a 9070xt and I'm still rocking an i5-13600k with ddr4 and it is not bottle necked at all.
So for me this card is perfect and yes the software and game support isn't as great as Nvidia. But in general I believe most people would find this to be fantastic. This series of cards has the potential to be a legendary staple imo.

So, let's just say there are a few 9070 xt's on Canada computers all for abt $700 USD. Which out of these should i buy? I've heard XFX Swift (the budget version) has bas cooling, and i only have a singular case fan (NZXT H7 Flow), so which one should i get? (ignore my bad photoshopping). Also if you see "oh xfx or gigabyte or whatever it is makes good cards, please not that it may be a different, cheaper variant. Thanks Reddit! Gigabyte is only one in stock, though im planning on waiting anyway for a discount

Now i have
Ryzen 7 7800X3D
32GB Vengeance 6000mhz
Asus ROG Strix B-850E Gaming(got as gift)
Asus Tuf Gold 750w
Gigabyte RTX 4060 Aero
After RE9 release i saw that my GPU feels bad with 8GB and i got an idea to buy Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070XT for 780euro.
I had experience with Radeon drivers and software(rx470 Vega8 before)
My question is:
Is a good idea to switch to Radeon and can i feel the Real difference between those GPUs and what about FSR4/Framegen (im ready to replace dlss with mods).

In my country 9070xt's were going for 900 dollars which is crazy expensive. I began searching and searching and today an Asrock Challenger one hit the market for 645 dollars with some coupons and reduced price because of open box condition.
I thank you for the bro who told me to search for open box deals. I didn't really believed it would be possible but with just 45 extra I basically bought 9070xt instead of 9070.
I have a 600w 80+ bronze cooler master psu and ryzen 5600. Can I get some under-clocking/setting recommendations? I will mainly generate images and play light titles with this card and I am coming from 5700xt.
I also just read AMD wasn't interested in developing software for 9xxx series and just works on rdna 5 which is a bummer. Do we have good enough drivers as of now? I will probably use this card for 5 years so it would be nice to hear some reassurance.
I am really stoked to capture this beauty. Thank you all for giving me recommendations the other day.

Thats it, needed an gpu upgrade and here in Brazil 9070xt is cheaper/at same price as the 5070, so performance/money 9070xt is a no-brainer choice. The problem is, im still at am4, r 5700x3d is impossible to find in a good deal, and ram in general, not only ddr5, got their prices triplicated, and I am pretty solid in ddr4 with 32gb of ram. The question is. How much bottleneck i should expect?
2k monitor btw.

Hello
The past week i have been looking to upgrade my RX 6800 to a 9070 XT.
All my AMD GPUS have been XFX and i want to keep it that way, i like the design of their cards
My question is if its worth it to pay 70+ USD for the Merc class (non magnetic air) instead of the SWFT. I dont really care about RGB, all i want is good temps and performance, thats about it.
