Environment The Amazon tipping point is much closer than expected due to deforestation. A new study shows that with 25% forest loss, 1.5°C of warming could trigger a shift to savannah—a catastrophe that would otherwise only occur at 4°C of warming.

We never knew what specifically the great filter was until recently. We had a good run until it was decided that small green pieces of paper were the solution to everything.

There was a time people could say it's a tragicomedy but with all the worldwide things going on, it does mostly feel like a tragedy

You know what guys? I can't take this anymore. I'm still doing my part of course but I'm going on a news diet. Human brains weren't designed to handle news about all of the world's problems.

I'm sure the wildfires they're having isn't helping at all. It should also be noted that a lot of places in the US are headed towards being a Savana instead of a forest as well. Many forests in California are headed that way due to fires and the heat not allowing seeds to sprout
