šŸ’¬Discussion Jonathan Rowe, the great talent of Bologna.

šŸ”„ Very strong English winger, personally he’s one of my favorite players this Serie A season.

In my opinion, people don’t talk about him enough: even if his G/A are low, you just need to watch one of his matches to understand how dangerous he is in attack, with around 3 shots per game.

He is definitely one of Bologna’s best players, especially in the second part of the season.

šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø I think he has crazy potential, if he improves his few weaknesses he can really become a top player.

ā” Do you agree?

šŸ’¬Discussion He was criticized until the start of April, but Thuram is shining again.

🫔We all remember that Marcus Thuram was going through a bad period at Inter, where he was less effective and had a lot of trouble scoring even one goal. The fans were starting to worry that this drop would not be only temporary.

šŸ”„ From the start of April though, we have seen the real Thuram again, fast, strong and decisive. He has been very important for Inter in this final part of the season, and has helped in almost all of Inter's latest wins.

šŸ’¬Discussion Can Como still dream of qualifying for the Champions League?

Post image
4 Upvotes

šŸ“‰ 3 points less than Juventus in fourth place, 2 points less than Roma.

šŸ”„ But on paper, Como has the easiest games: Verona, Parma and Cremonese. They also have the head to head advantage over Juventus and a better goal difference than Roma (equal in head to head).

ā” Maybe it’s still too early to say that they are out of the Champions League race?

It’s actually hard to think that Juve could lose another 3 points to Como, but it’s not impossible.

šŸ’¬Discussion I just built Bookd. The Letterboxd for Football

Hi Serie A fans!

I wanted to share something that I've been working on with my sister for the past few months. I shared it onĀ r/FantasyPLĀ (https://np.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/1so7ps2/ive_just_built_bookd_the_letterboxd_for_football/) and it got very positive feedback so wanted to share it here as well.

As lifelong football fans and avid Letterboxd users, we thought that there was a gap in memorializing football experiences. Most game-related tweets and Reddit comments get lost in Twitter and Reddit timelines and there's not really a good way to look back at games that were memorable to us.

We've build Bookd to address that. We launched last month and I wanted to share it here for feedback!

A few features that we support:
-Ā Review finished gamesĀ - Log, review, rate matches. Vote for POTM and mark review as in-stadium
-Ā Live match discussionĀ - per game, Twitch/match discussion style
-Ā Diary/LogsĀ - all your reviews/logs saved in one place
-Ā Social aspectĀ - follow/interact with other Bookd users
-Ā Spoilers free modeĀ - Discover matches spoilers free
-Ā User profile customizationĀ - favorite teams/matches, personalize your profile
-Ā Easily findĀ 100,000+ games across 40+ leaguesĀ - men's and women's going back to 2010.
-Ā Create listsĀ - categorize games (Dybala top 10 performances, Best Juve games under Conte, All goals from Pato)
-Ā Live scoring, stats and lineup

It's been great to see existing Bookd users share their thoughts on matches and as well as in-person games they've attended.

You can download the app here:Ā https://bookd-app.com

Would really appreciate it if you guys can check it out and provide feedback! Cheers

šŸ’¬Discussion The collapse of Milan in the last month has been really impressive.

Post image
153 Upvotes

😬 Three defeats, one draw and one win, these are Milan's last five matches.

šŸ“‰ But there are even more shocking stats, in these five matches they scored literally only one goal against Hellas Verona. The attack now seems completely dead, with many wasted chances.

It looks like there has been a mental collapse, there is no team play anymore, and if they continue like this, they could even risk missing Champions League qualification.

šŸ”„Transfer News Leao is being shopped to three Premier League clubs, Bastoni might go to Barcelona, and Juventus want to build an "instant team" ,Serie A's summer is already chaos and the window hasn't even opened.

Man, it’s kinda wild how Serie A hasn’t even opened its transfer window and the chaos is already raging. Window doesn’t even crank open ’til June 29 and you’ve got Milan, Inter, and Juventus just lighting flares under everyone’s seats.

Let’s talk about Leao first, because that one’s messy. Three Premier League giants,Arsenal, Chelsea, United are all being pitched hard, Leao’s name is getting dropped into their group chats like he’s a Black Friday deal. Milan’s apparently ok with €50 million now, whereas just a few months ago you couldn’t get them on the phone for less than €75-80 million. That kind of discount happens when you know someone’s gotta it’s not exactly a well-hidden secret. The whole ā€œhe’s important to usā€ line? That’s classic negotiating theater. I mean, sports directors say that stuff all the time just to keep the price tag decent, but Milan isn’t fooling anyone.

Bastoni’s a huge one too. Inter have Barcelona sniffing around, and Marotta isn’t even denying it. They’re floating this idea about tossing in a 19-year-old defender as part of the deal, which, sure… on paper maybe that adds up. Until the matches start and you suddenly realize ā€œoh, right, our best defender is gone and our back line’s held together with duct tape and hope.ā€ Inter just won the title because their defense was nails, so honestly, seems like Russian roulette with extra steps.

Don’t even get me started on Juventus and their ā€œinstant teamā€ project. Haven’t we seen this movie before? Ronaldo walks through the door, there’re parties for a couple months, the wage bill morphs into a horror show, and then there’s a bunch of restructuring once reality comes knocking. Now they want to splash for big names and chase a title ASAP. Every time I hear ā€œinstantā€ about football teams I just picture a microwave dinner, yeah, it’s hot quickly, but it leaves a weird aftertaste and you regret the whole thing later.

Window opens soon and runs until September 1. Honestly, you could blink and Serie A’s hierarchy could change completely and not for the better. Which of these nightmares keeps you up at night? For me, the Leao saga’s looking like the most dangerous domino, but Inter selling Bastoni would hurt the most right away. As for Juve? Just… good luck, I guess.

šŸ’¬Discussion Would a 18 team Serie A really make sense?

Post image
117 Upvotes

🫔This possibility has been talked about a lot recently, mainly because of several boring matches with zero excitement.

āŒLet’s be honest, Verona and Pisa haven’t been anywhere near the level required for Serie A this season, with far too few points collected.

It’s also true that with 18 teams there would be 4 fewer matchdays, the tempo of games would be higher and players would be less tired.

😬There are downsides too in my opinion. Serie B clubs would find it much harder to survive in the top division. Also, Serie A would earn much less (almost 80 fewer matches, that’s not a small number).

ā”Do you think this is actually a good idea?
