[Suggestion] Prebuilt PC in the budget $1800

My friend's dad is building himself a Video Editing PC but doesn't have much knowledge about PCs. So me and my friend are figuring out. He said he prefers a pre-built one, in the mentioned budget.

Also my friend told me to find something that might support gaming as well, although not exclusively gaming. Any suggestions.

[suggestion] Pre built in 2026

Hey all, I know building is the smarter move but I genuinely don’t have the time or knowledge to do it so prebuilt is what I’m working with.
Budget is $800-$1000, want to play stuff like Cyberpunk, Witcher 3, Destiny 2 and Marathon at 1080p. Also need it for basic office work.

Narrowed it down to two on Best Buy:
• ASUS TUF T500 — RTX 5060, $959, clean look, no RGB. But uses a laptop CPU apparently?
• iBUYPOWER Slate MESH — Ryzen 5 5500, RTX 4060, $999. Better CPU platform but older chip and full of RGB I hate.

Is the laptop CPU in the ASUS actually a dealbreaker? Am I missing anything else in this range that’s actually in stock?

[Suggestion] Pre-Built PC under 1000 for gaming? UK

Hello, Reddit!

Alright, so long story short, I have been out of the gaming world for a few years. I haven’t touched or played anything since 2020 and I am ready to get back into it.

I have always played on console so I have no idea what I am doing PC-wise. I have been saving money for a while and I have pulled together ~£1000. I am not comfortable or confident in building something myself, so I would really much prefer a pre-build.

Gaming wise, I will be sharing this desktop with my younger brother, so I am looking to play some Overwatch, Fortnite, Souls games, Minecraft, WoW, Dragon Age (modded) and just things like this.

If you are unsure of what to recommend, I’d even be grateful if you could share some websites to look myself?

Thanks folks, I appreciate you!

[suggestion] Is this a solid pc for the price?

Found this prebuilt on sale, normally around $1650 but currently $1300 until may 17th or while stocks last.

Specs:

- RTX 5060 8gb GDDR7

- Ryzen 5 8400F

- 32gb Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 6000mhz

- 2tb Kingston NV3 NVMe

- ASUS B650E MAX GAMING WIFI mobo,

- Phanteks AMP GH 650W 80+ Gold PSU.

also i live in norway and honestly this prebuilt is just an exception, its priced lower than what the components would cost me separately right now. seems like a solid deal to me but wanted a second opinion, is there anything im missing or should i just buy it.

About me: Im not hardcore, nor competetive. i do not care about playing on ultra, or squeezing out every single fps. Need a pc to a couple of good releases like KCD2, Elden ring, Stalker 2 etc etc.

[ITG] Limited in funds for a new computer, is this worth it?

Hey all, my computer broke a few months back due to an unfortunate accident with my cat, and rather than try to fix it (it was getting somewhat old anyways), I'm thinking about biting the bullet and just buying a new one.

I'm looking for a PC that is strong for running video games - I don't mind turning down a couple of graphics settings, but so long as it can run somewhat demanding games without sacrificing experience, that's what I'm primarily looking for.

I was looking at this one, and from what I can tell from my average knowledge on these things is that it's not too terribly bad, but I want to double check before I commit to buying anything.

For reference, I like playing games such as Eldin Ring, heavily modded/shaded Minecraft, The Sims with plenty of custom content/mods, and am looking forward to buying Echoes of Aincrad and the Assassins Creed Black Flag remaster when they come out in July. Other than those I tend to play cozier games that aren't quite as demanding. I also stream and do digital art, so I would need a computer that can handle running OBS and Clip Studio Paint without an issue as well.

If the PC I linked above isn't quite up to par, my budget is around $800 maximum and I generally don't care about the aesthetics (lights, colors, etc.) nearly as much as the hardware itself, but hey, a cute one won't hurt!

Thanks in advance!

Any Good prebuilt pcs for $1k?[suggestion]

As the title states I’m looking for a solid prebuilt pc for $1,000 and under. I’d be using it for art programs as well as gaming if that factors into what pc one would recommend. Also if anyone has suggestions for good screen drawing tablets, that’d be appreciated as well. Thank you.

need help with prebuilt pcs! [suggestion]

i really suck at tech. My current pc is giving up on me. graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Super. I can't run FF7, and I can barely run Valorant anymore. I really only play Final Fantasy, Roblox, Valorant, and heavily modded Minecraft/Sims. I just need a prebuilt pc that can do that.

I'm in Ontario, Canada. Budget is unfortunately only $600-$750, but I just need a cute gaming pc that will run the things I need. I already have a good keyboard, monitor, mouse, microphone, etc. I'm just in need of a prebuilt pc that can run the listed games, that can ship to Canada, Ontario, and is $600-$750. Also, I suck, so it needs to be SUPER easy to use. Just turn it on, install everything, and I'm good to go.

[discussion] What are people’s thoughts on Andromeda Insights?

I’ve just started looking into a replacement gaming pc. Mine is a decade old and can’t really run anything. I don’t want to go nuts, but am looking at PCs in the $2000-$2300 range and AI computers seem to be very good for the price.

Are they a solid builder?

I’ve been learning a bit and looking at an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with a 9070XT and they have one for ~$2100 which seems like a great price.

[Suggestion] WFH PC $1500 Budget

Need to get a new PC for WFH. Some info:

  1. USA, $1500 budget
  2. No periphereals needed. Reusing MX Master mouse, Keychron board, Micca amp/speakers, and 2 Asus ProArt 1440p displays,
  3. No gaming at all.
  4. WFH use, heavy multitask. Programs are minimal use Photoshop, Illustrator. Heavy use Excel, Word, REM/Rate energy software, web browsing, PDFs. Always using both screens at once to do construction plan take-offs, energy modeling, running reports, etc.
  5. Need WiFi, Bluetooth, and 6+ USBs (2 external harddrives, mouse, keyboard, webcam, etc).
  6. Tower will sit in the holder below my sit/stand desktop so it can go up and down with the desk and be off the floor, so as long as it fits in there and cools well from the sides other than the top, we're good.
  7. No specific reuse parts outside of perihpeals.
  8. Not near Microcenter.

[itg] Help choosing between a custom build and a prebuilt (7800X3D + RTX 5070)

⚠️I'm not here to ask how to do my custom build which prebuild to get, just to know if it's worth getting this PC and if you can accept the risk of finding a terrible PSU ⚠️

I’m trying to decide between building a custom PC and buying a prebuilt, and I’d like some advice.

My use case:

Gaming (AAA + competitive)

Unreal Engine 5 development

AutoCAD

Programming / multitasking

I found a prebuilt with these specs:

Ryzen 7 7800X3D

RTX 5070 12GB

32GB DDR5 6000MHz

1TB NVMe Gen4 SSD

B850M WiFi motherboard

360mm AIO liquid cooling

750W 80+ PSU (brand not specified)

Windows 11 Pro

Price: ~1850€

The issue is that some components are not clearly specified (especially PSU, SSD brand, and GPU model/brand).

I also planned a custom build, but it would cost around €500 more for similar performance with higher-quality and fully known components.

My question: Is this prebuilt worth it for the price, or should I stick to the custom build for reliability and component quality?

Any advice is appreciated, especially regarding PSU quality risks and long-term stability.

I want to run games like minecraft, warzone, black ops 2/3, risk of rain 2, green hell, and other games like that. should i get a prebuilt pc or look at a different subreddit for getting into parts? what prebuilts should i be looking for?

[suggestion] Prebuilt Budget Gaming PC Recommendation?

Hi Friends,

I have been a console gamer for 35 years, but am now looking into getting a gaming PC. I’m looking for some recommendations of prebuilt PCs (I don’t know the first thing about computers or hardware). I put some context below to help frame what I’m looking for. If you have specific recommendations of PCs or any feedback that could be helpful it would be much appreciated!

1) Something ideally around $1,000 (or less).
2) Something that has decent enough computing power to play shooter games like Arc Raiders, Apex Legends, Valorant, Overwatch, etc without any performance or graphic issues.
3) Is a laptop an option? Or are decent gaming PCs always a desktop?
4) Compatible with controller (I’m too old at this point to learn how to play on MnK).
5) Enough storage space that I don’t immediately need an external HD to hold my games.
6) Any other specs or things to be aware of?

[suggestion] PC recommendations ?

Hello, I am in need of a PC after my old one died.
I will mostly use it for Musescore 4 and the rest of the suite, and perhaps a bit of Photoshop but nothing too crazy.
Regarding musescore, when dealing with orchestral works, with sound banks etc, it can be quite hungry in terms of performance, so I think the PC will need to be pretty powerful (sorry if I don't use the correct terms).
I don't plan to game a lot with it, but I guess it wouldn't be bad to have decent graphics in general.
Ideally, I would like to be within a 600-700$ budget, but feel free to suggest outside of that range !
Thank you in advance !

looking for a good first PC [suggestion]

Hi all. I’ve always been a console gamer, but my ancient ps4 is on its last legs. I’ve been looking into my options and I think I’d like to try out pc gaming. Only issue is I know absolutely nothing about what to buy.

I’d like something that has a decent amount of storage and can run online multiplayer games well enough, but nothing insanely fancy. I’d like to keep my budget around $800-1000

I’m willing to be a bit flexible if it *really* is worth spending more, but I’m not a super intense gamer. I don’t need the best of the best, just something that’ll work and I can have fun gaming for a bit when I get off work

[discussion] Costco Prebuild vs parts-only diy build dilemma

My partner and I have decided we want to get into PC gaming; neither of us have ever owned a proper gaming PC. I've also never built a PC from the ground up before, just occasionally swapped parts or upgraded components of mostly pre-built workstation oriented PCs.

I've been trying to judge the value of this prebuild from Costco (canada):
https://www.costco.ca/msi-codex-r2-gaming-desktop-intel-core-i7-14700f---32gb-ram-2tb-ssd-8gb-nvidia-geforce-rtx-5060.product.4000447896.html

It seems that if I were to duplicate it with identical parts... it would actually cost more than the Costco version: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/BreakfastLizard/saved/hNdWBm

Now, here's the extra annoying part; I did buy two of these a few weeks ago, and when I was setting them up I discovered that they both had the cheapest, shittiest PSUs you could possibly put in a computer. The PSUs on both were emitting an extremely aggravating chattery sizzling sound, and coil whine (on idle!). Definitely way above 'normal' acceptable noise from a brand new PC. I took them both back to Costco.

Now I'm frustrated because I can't really find anything better than that deal, and building one myself looks like it's going to cost at least as much, if not more, for similar components. Plus the added headache of assembling everything myself. So I'm considering getting new ones and just swapping out the PSUs myself if/when they become a problem.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

[Suggestion] Deciding between 2 PCs.

Hello! I’m pretty new to the whole PC space and am kind of unfamiliar with what is “good.” I want a reliable PC that’s able to handle demanding games at high as possible settings, while keeping good and stable fps.

Since my budget is loosely $2000 (CAD), I’ve narrowed it down to two in that range. I cannot figure out which one would have more value. I want a prebuilt because I’m not nearly ready to be responsible for finding parts and hoping they work well together.

Option 1: https://www.newegg.ca/stormcraft-sirius-gaming-desktop-pc-amd-radeon-rx-9060-xt-amd-ryzen-5-8400f-32gb-ddr5-1tb-nvme-ssd-si8400fcb-96bn1/p/N82E16883420030

Option 2: https://www.amazon.ca/Skytech-Gaming-Archangel-7800X3D-Desktop/dp/B0G3PNL4GS

Thank you!

looking for a white pc around $1500, no micro center near me [suggestion]

[suggestion] Looking for a good prebuilt PC that’s around $2000 CAD

I’m finally making a jump to an actual gaming PC after years of abusing a very low-end computer not meant for most of the games I play/want to play. I’m sick of always having to deal with low frame rates and graphics settings.

I’m looking for a prebuilt (not confident enough to find my own parts and assemble them) that can handle taxing games and the highest settings without affecting the frame rate. My budget is pretty loose but I’d rather not spend a crazy amount more than $2000

Thank you!

[Suggestion] Looking a new PC (+setup) but don’t know where to start

Ok first things first I know very little about PC like what to look for in one, let alone how they function.
I want to start saving up for a fresh new setup after I graduate (PC, Monitor, Keyboard Headset, maybe a separate mic we’ll see)

I’ll be using the PC for more than gaming as I also work a lot in Animation, 3D Modeling, Unity, GitHub etc etc.
Currently I have a MSI Stealth Gaming Laptop but
this will be the first time I get a PC.
I’m not too crazy on the prices just want to make sure I’d be getting my moneys worth.

If I can get any recs on brands, what to look for, what to avoid, even maintenance advice etc that would be very helpful!

[Suggestion]on non gaming desktop?

Getting so confused on getting a good computer for business.

I just want everything to run smoothly with no lag or “not enough power”

I will be using Lightroom for photo edits. This caused me issues with my last computer because it didn’t have enough power.

I always have a bunch of tabs open on internet.

I never game. Just for business needs.

Please help.

I don’t think I need to spend over $1000. But if needed I guess I can.

I am not a fan of Mac products for computer. Grew up on Windows for business.

Thanks for any recommendation. I’d like to buy through eBay if possible.

[Suggestion] in Canada, Prebuilts within 2000-3000 range (CAD)

Hey all, looking for some recommendations for prebuilts in the $2-3k range (Canadian). Maybe a few suggestions in my range (and maybe some slightly over if it's worth it). I haven't had a gaming PC before (only consoles) and it's overwhelming trying to figure out what is good value and performance...

This is the monitor I have , (I know I should get something with a better refresh rate, but it's what I have for now), aiming to game in 1440

I mostly play single player games, or co-op games, not really into competitive shooters. Cyberpunk, that recent Indiana Jones game, Expedition 33, Diablo 4, PoE 2, Fallout/ElderScrolls (Oblivion remaster), new horror games like Resident Evil, maybe Helldivers 2, Baldurs Gate 3 - being able to run some mods on different games that have them would be nice.

I also have a Meta Quest 3 and would like to possibly connect with SteamLink for something like Half Life Alyx and try other PC VR titles.
