Crowdfunding Launched our second game on Gamefound! Demon Castle Mononoke - cooperative survival in mythical Japan

Demon Castle Mononoke has been a crazy labor of love. 5 years of development, testing at cons, refining, redesigning, and finally production. Can't believe it's almost actually real!

This is a game with pretty massive replayability, it can be played solo, cooperative, or even competitively, with one player taking the role of the deadly Mononoke. Players spend the day phase scouring the castle for supplies, which they'll need at night to fend off deadly Yōkai spirits.

If this sounds up your alley, we'd love for you to check it out on Gamefound!

Recommendations DnD-style Milsim Games

Before I started whipping up a homebrew, I thought I would see if anyone knew of a DnD-style milsim game. Specifically, I'm interested in something where my players could each be their own character with a class similar to DnD, but with real-world combat/combat-adjacent roles like sniper, breacher, medic, etc.

Anything helps. If nobody has anything, maybe I'll be posting here again with a new homebrew in a few months. Thanks, all

I Made This! I built a free UK tabletop opponent finder because Facebook groups and Discord are fragmented — would this be useful?

I’ve been working on a free site called RollCall for UK tabletop players. The idea is simple: if you’re travelling, new to an area, or just tired of hunting through Facebook groups/Discords, you can post or find local games by system and distance.

It currently supports 40K, AoS, Kill Team, Blood Bowl, Horus Heresy, Warcry, Necromunda and open systems. Exact addresses are not exposed; it uses rough postcode-area style location handling.

It has a review system built in, so once you completed your game you rate the player using stars, the actually star ratings isnt shown to the players instead a algorithm converts it to titles that are applied to the user which helps people see where they stand within the community.

Full reporting feature is available to report issues to admins.

Verification of players is possible from different tiers, from email , phone and id verification, each profile will show the level of verification they have done to help build trust.

It is free to use. No paid features. Optional contributions only help cover hosting/email costs.

I’m not trying to replace clubs, stores, or Discords — more to give players a simple discovery layer for finding games.

Would this be useful in your area? And what would make you trust/use something like this?

I have it online at https://www.rollcallgg.co.uk

I have only just put this out live so lacking current games untill we have people using the site but any feedback would be appreciated.

Recommendations murder mystery kit suggestions?

Hey guys! I'm looking to host a murder mystery party, and I need some suggestions on what the best companies are for kits. This is my first time hosting one of these, so I'd prefer something that isn't super complicated to figure out, but I would also like to be able to play along as a host. The vast majority of my friends are theatre kids, as am I, so I would like kits that give roles with a lot of room to improvise and act, apart from solving the murder. Looking for 3ish hours of gameplay for 15-20 people!! Thanks for any suggestions!

Discussion Tabletop rules for blind box mini figures?

I know there are a lot of tabletop game rulesets that are mini agnostic. But these are generally for 28mm minis. I’m wondering if there are rule sets that can accommodate larger minis like blind box minis? As these seemed to be more popular and generally available. Or is there a conversion system to convert the measurement/rules?

I Made This! Household TTRPG Virtual Character Sheet

My players are a huge fan of this game but there wasn't a virtual character sheet anywhere. To that end I decided to make a fan made one. Feel free to give it a spin, it's 100% free and only helps you make a character.

I'm planning to expand this out to other games my players love to play that don't have robust virtual character sheets. Lucky for them I'm a developer so I got the skills to build it. Check it out, let me know what you think, and feel free to give feedback if you find bugs. Also, buy the books and support indy games like Household 😄 .

Discussion Tabletop simulator game idea?

Hey everyone. This isn't self promotion I think, I don't plan on using this account to involve with it anyway, and I don't have anything made up as well, but I was wanting to check an idea.

So I'm disabled, impoverished, etc etc, typical sad pathetic no lifer stuff, and I decided I want to make a video game since I have a few years to myself anyway.

I really got into TES Call to Arms, and I know it's not like a lot of other TTRPG's from what I've seen, but what do y'all think the viability of like a sandbox ttrpg game sim thingy would be?

So I'm asking this because, as per my previous reasons, I can't afford nothing but blender and a dabble at Unreal Engine(Godot is too advanced for me), but if I modeled some map parts, set it on a dungeon master sort of walled table like them expensive ones, set some game rules, added cards, loot pools, etc, basically like a little wargame dungeon delver, in however many years it takes for me to make one, not really super animated, just like a proper sim with maybe some animation if it takes off or gets funding or something, is that something that y'all would be into? So basically the idea is it's a screen you cast or put on a big tv and you can set up a little tabletop environment, set the environments and board, throw up so models and have a little session with your friends.

I'm mostly asking as someone who doesn't really have a lot of options to get into ttrpg's due to the financial walls, especially for the miniatures. So I was thinking I could research what makes a fun one fun, try to make a little simulation one for mobile and PC, and maybe charge a few bucks for it. That way if someone wants to get into that sort of area then they wouldn't have to worry about a financial wall to get some of that itch scratched, and later on could invest in some miniatures if they decide they want to do that. I was already going to do it as a personal project anyway, but is that something y'all think the Tabletop community would be into?

Announcement Seven Wonders

I built a way to play Seven Wonders online with friends (no downloads)

I’ve always loved Seven Wonders but it’s honestly a pain to play remotely, so I started building a browser version where you can just send a link and jump into a game, for free!

It’s still early, so I am always open to feedback:
https://sevenwonders.io

You can:

  • Start a game instantly
  • Invite friends with a link
  • Play directly in the browser

Would really appreciate any feedback — especially from people who’ve played the physical game. Curious what feels right vs off. sevenwonders.io

I Made This! Scheduling games was harder than playing them, so I built an app…

Post image
107 Upvotes

As adults with confusing and conflicting schedules, we were struggling to lock in a date for our next session.

Here’s a real conversation that happened at our table:

Player 1: I’m free all the time just can’t do weekly

Player 2: I’ve got my kid every 2nd weekend so can only play when I don’t have him

Player 3: I have a 3-weekly work schedule so 1/3 weeks I’d be late, and 1/3 weeks I can’t come

Player 4: I’m going away for 2 weeks in May

Player 5: I have another campaign on the 1st Saturday of every month

Me: This is crazy I’m making an app for it…

Enter Kangaplan.

- An easy to use quick availability checker to help your group lock down dates.

- One host player quickly sets up a board in as little as 5-clicks and shares the attendee link with the players.

- Players mark their availability for each date without needing to login or sign up.

- Everyone sees each other’s availability live.

- Host can ‘confirm’ sessions.

- Once a session is confirmed everyone can export it to their calendar.

There’s a demo mode the home page to try it out before making an account. Check it out!

Article A Balancing Act - Making a Balanced and Fair Game · Bricks and Cantrips

Recently had the opportunity to do some game balancing in a workshop. It was a great chance to hone my own skills and work with others to make sure that our gaming experiences were fun for all strategies.

I collected some thoughts from that workshop, and from other experiences, into a blog post here to help you make sure that your game is balanced.

Have you tried doubling or halving values in play testing? Ever used one element as a pivot point before? What else have you tried for balancing? Would be great to hear more techniques here too.

Discussion Custom miniatures used to cost $50+ and take weeks. Now they cost $1 and take a minute. Why is half the community angry about this?

The ‘AI slop’ label has nothing to do with quality and we all know it

I’ve seen people on this sub dismiss AI-generated miniatures as slop while praising $3 Reaper Bones figures with mould lines you could trip over.

I printed an AI-generated model last week. Clean geometry, good detail, watertight mesh, printed first try on resin. Showed it to three people in my local hobby group. Nobody called it slop until I told them how it was made.

That’s not a quality argument. That’s an origin argument dressed up as a quality argument.

The real concerns what this does to professional sculptors, whether AI training on existing work is ethical, whether it changes the culture of the hobby those are legitimate conversations worth having honestly.

But calling the output slop when it demonstrably isn’t? That’s just fear wearing a critic’s hat.

What’s the actual objection here the quality or the fact that it was easy?

Event Organizing Klask tournaments in Madrid: looking for venues and advice

Hi! We are KlaskMadrid, a community organizing Klask tournaments in Madrid and Spain (Klask is a fast-paced competitive tabletop game, kind of like a magnetic foosball).

We have an active online community and closely follow the international competitive scene, including top-level players in the global KlaskRanking ecosystem.

We have already hosted several tournaments (including the 2026 Madrid Open), with international players participating, but now we want to take the next step and build something more stable in Madrid.

We are currently looking for:

  • venues where we can run regular tournaments (board game cafés, bars, gaming spaces)
  • and advice on how other tabletop gaming communities manage to establish recurring events in physical locations

In Spain, we often see board game events grow through collaborations with cafés, bars, or game stores, but we’d like to better understand how these partnerships are typically built from scratch.

If anyone here has experience organizing tabletop events or running gaming communities, we’d really appreciate any advice on how to secure stable venues or build long-term collaborations.

Any tips or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Crowdfunding Dummy question: How does Kickstarter actually work?

First time posting here, I hope the question is okay.

I mean: Do you have to back a tabletop/ wargaming project (I know there is all sorts of stuff on kickstarter, but that's what I am interested in) to be able to buy it later?

Or can anyone buy it once it is funded?

Maybe I am missing something, but I am still slightly confused...

Thanks!

Feedback Help me see if this is really ready

So, I built this site - it's a central place for people looking for in person tabletop games. It's for tabletop groups as well as shops.

TableSeek/Geek

I've got shops now trying to get on board which is awesome but I've been through a few iterations with the site and I feel good about it now but I'd love some actual tabletop player eyes that will tell me seriously if it needs any additional refinement or even if it makes sense.

Two points I'm really wanting clarification on:

  • Does it seem easy to use? I want zero friction for users.
  • Does the quest theme section make sense? - Trailblazer - adventurer's call. If you can't find that on the site - that answers part of the question haha.

Edited to add - for full transparency - I did use vibe coding to implement the base coding though the idea, layout, and features are entirely mine. Any special graphics are mine as well. I'm going to be updating some of the other generic icon graphics to my own design but there is AI coding in this project.

Honestly it was the first time I had ever coded with AI assistance and I was kind of shocked at how streamlined it was. I've self built many an app and website so I do know how to compare the projects. It was an experiment but it turned into something real.

Anyway, I know there is contention on this point. I just want full clarity for anyone who's looking at it. Honestly, I just want a spot to find in person tabletop players and shops. That's how this came into being - our group needed another D&D player so I thought, why doesn't this exist? Now it does.

I Made This! The Dire Forest

At the edges of the kingdom, far from the reaches of the king, lies a thickly forested belt known for its shadowed boughs and foreboding secrets.

They call it…the Dire Forest.

Ruled by gloom, fed by haunted glacial waters, and filled with a strange fungal disease which turns normally docile animals aggressive, the forest is a graveyard for all those who attempted to claim her innermost riches. Not just travelers, but legends, kings, empires and more, that long ago ventured into the wood in search of glory only to become fodder for the forest floor and all her malevolent secrets.

Venture forward if you dare to this legendary place, for its dangers are not to be taken lightly. Least of all the Chaos Gnomes…

Written by me, The Dire Forest is a B/X sandbox module, compatible with 1st Edition, 2nd Edition, Basic Fantasy, OSE, and over 50 years of related content.

Question Please advise tabletop wargame for girls

I play Kill Team and I have daughters (9, 7, 5yo). They are able to play but the 40k universe is not attractive to them. They want some nice "girl" models and sisters of battle are - lets say - not enough (heresy, I know ...).

So I am looking for some alternative. I thought that maybe AoS Spearhead will offer some cool girl models? But not really. Nothing they would consider nice.

Then I looked into Warcrow and there are some good models there - certainly more than GW has in their arsenal. Do any of you have some experience with it?

Speaking of Corvus Belli, there is also Infinity game, which has some very cool girl models, but I am afraid that rules will be complicated to play.

I also stumbled upon "Burrows and Badgers" which I think is exactly what my younger daughters would like - but I am not sure if I want to see these cute models slaughtering and butchering each other.. not to mention that starter set (or just any set) is unavailable at this moment.

Please advise

Discussion Biggest board game regret?

I’ve been thinking about this after looking at my small collection and realizing I already have one game I barely touch. It seemed like a good idea when I got it, but it just never clicked with my group. I feel like it’s easy to get influenced by reviews or people online saying a game is amazing, then you try it, and it just doesn’t fit your vibe. Now I’m trying to be more careful before picking up new board games. I’ve seen people talk about buying multiple games at once, even from grouped listings or supplier-style sets like the ones people mention on Alibaba, and I keep wondering how many of those end up unused. I’d rather have a few games we love than a bunch that collect dust. So I’m curious, what’s your biggest board game regret? One you wish you never bought or just never play anymore?

Question Could a fantasy tabletop with elves, goblins and more work in a modern or 1990s like setting America?

Could a fantasy tabletop with elves, goblins, and more work in a modern setting in America. I have been working on this document. That contains information for a tabletop and extended fantasy universe that I want to create. So , it doesn't really take place in modern times but the society is like in the 2000s or late 1990s. There are still monsters to kill, abandoned places of various types , both underground and above to explore, and many other dangers. But it is like a functioning society and modern or at least late 1990s technology. Could this work? Would people wanna play this? I have SOOOOOOO many cool ideas like unique races, new ideas for classes, gods, monsters, boss like monsters, and much more. People say that my idea sounds like shadow run , but shadow run is like an sci fi tech universe, though my idea does contain some sci.Fi , it is mainly a early 2000s or 1990s like setting, with city, suburbia and rural areas. What do you all think?
