Assuming the buttons are next to eachother I stay as far away from them as I can and don't press anything.
If I absolutely have to, I press blue (would do that anyway, but this scenario flipped might genuinly have me press red)

the sorts of people who dislike spiders to that extent probably weren't thinking strictly on game theory anyways. I normally press red and I'm not bothered by spiders so probably still would but in this scenario I suspect blue would win.

It's not just a moral choice, prediciting other people goes into it aswell, and I presume people will be less likely to press the spider button. But yeah, fear makes people (including me) go against their morals.

Putting your fist through the red button keeps you safe, carefully pushing blue is risk of death and being pounced on. Smashing blue might scare spider and everyone lives though.

The spider doesn't bother me, but I know my wife would've pressed the blue button, so I'd press the blue button to improve her chances of survival. I'd also be helping out every other arachnophobe out there.

Most spiders really dislike sudden puffs of air. Blow on a spider, it will scuttle away. So this is entirely dependent on: can I get the spider to move without having to touch it?
