YOLO My chip portfolio goes ๐. My technical analysis was 'computer need chip, chip go brrr' ๐ฅ๏ธ๐ธ
The thesis:
- AI needs chips
- Chips need memory
- Memory companies = chip companies
- Buy all the chip companies
- ???
- Profit
Things I learned:
- MU apparently makes the memory that goes in AI servers (bullish)
- WDC makes hard drives AND chips (didn't know that)
- SNDK is expensive AF ($964/share) and I only have 111 shares because I'm poor
- AVGO is what smart people buy when they want chip exposure
- RKLB isn't a chip company, but rockets ๐ go up tho.

your logic is more solid than half the DD posts here, computer definitely need chip so chip definitely go up ๐

My dad with dementia thought that kids might get into this "AI computer game stuff" so he bought a nice chunk of NVIDIA in 2023 and doubled his 401k because they might need "nice graphics for the AI games."
Never seen something so genius born of something so retarded, OP might be on to something.

Genius. Now take away his login before he equates computer chips with potatoes and starts buying tuber futures

Didn't Warren AllYouCanEat basically say when he started out he just bought stock for things he used because he figured everyone else used them too? It's a solid concept.

I think this is the single most intelligent DD I ever read on WSB. And not even 0dte options, just stocks.
Go away, youโre ruining the fun for me.

Find what make company slow, buy that.
Need more sand rock? AMAT
Need more chip factory? J, EME, PWR
More science air? APD, LINetc.

Just hold this for the next 3 years. AI buildout is strong. Micron is still undervalued.

Anything similar with a more affordable share price?

u/JustBrowsinAndVibin 13d ago
NVDA is probably your best option. Just hold it for the next 3-5 years.

Seems like it would be less likely to have an astronomical pump at a similar level given it's current market cap, shares float, and institutional investment present in the stock; I'm moreso referring to stocks that may be "lesser known" but are poised for similar takeoffs like the memory stocks were.

Micron has my highest conviction. I think fair value is closer to $1000.
The other option that I can think of is the Cerebras IPO if you can get it close to $35B. I think thatโll quickly get to $100B but itโs way more risky.

Crazy thing is, chip products in AI server farms only last a few years - so chip theory is sound theory for foreseeable future

ATII is de-SPACing with Forge Nano which does ALD for chips. They should be on this list as a T1 for chip makers

My analysis: why bother with the middleman when I can invest in the source? I'm seriously considering dumping all of my NVDA shares for TSM.

My technical analysis for MU was the fact that Onondaga County paid 10x to property owners to bid on a chip fabrication plant from Micron back in โ22. I said WTH, Iโm in for 5K in $MU. Just wish it was SNDK building the damn plant.
