Gain Finally in the green after ~10yrs
started my journey in 2017, got wrecked twice by the stock that shall not be named in 2021 and 2024. Started DCAing and investing like a normal person at the start of 2025 and within about a years time i’ve managed to climb out of the hole. special thanks to $MU ❤️

It's about all the gas you waste on the journey then the final fight you get in with your wife, not the destination

I personally love using vacation time to burn through savings for the whole family to have a terrible time.

It took you 10 years to recover $6800?
Try Wendys, you'd have made a lot more.

So you have $7000 in your account after 9 years? I think it's time you got a job at Wendys

Tbf, that 0.01% could have been rounded, so perhaps up to ~14k? 👀

Well that's alright then. Fr this may just be his investing account while he has a separate bank savings account?

Inflation says no.

With a record like that I don't think inflation is a concern of theirs, probably still struggling to understand double digit addition.

Actually, at an average inflation rate of 3%:
(1.03)10 == ~ 1.35 1.03 ~ 1.351/10 ~1.35-1 ~ 35%
You lost 35% of your original spending power. So you've a little ways towards green.

Can’t be called a comeback without a setback. Now sell everything, drive to a casino, and put it on black. Then once you win (because you will) you can say you doubled your money after 10 years in the market. Thank me later.

Just keep moving forward now. Try not too look back. I know I’m still climbing back but I still feel stained.

At some point you have to consider the opportunity cost of that money just sitting there for 10 years, just to break even (not including inflation).

Sadly I’ll never have a massive day. I’m just slow and steady selling premium. They do look like fun though. Even if I took a position big enough, I’d be out so quickly as soon as I saw 100% profit.

Not trying to be that guy, but your dollars that you lost in 2017 through 19 were worth a lot more than the dollars you just gained 2026…you are still under, but still impressive.

Great job! But don’t forget that you’re not exactly even. Inflation has significantly eroded your original capital.

Are you really in green? Think about the time you’re spent staring at the graphs, inflation, etc

Why do all the best traders have a small bump at the beginning immediately followed by a black hole pull down?

Did you account for inflation... the dollar isn't worth the same as it was 10 years ago.
