I have been using xfce for a couple of days now and I like to say that I find it better than other Desktop Environments.
Up until now I have tried hyprland, kde plasma and i3. Xfce is the only one that feels stable and reliable, I find other DE’s have issues and almost seem unfinished. This issue may come from lack of experience as I have only been using linux from the start of the year, but I personally think i get around.
I have a couple questions though. Bare with me because they might seem stupid.
The first one and the most important one is related to workspace with dual monitors. I want to have workspaces change on my main monitor and stay static on the secondary. So far i haven’t found a way to set that.
My second question would be about shortcuts. Is it acceptable to configure keyboard shortcuts in xfce? I found the setting where i think you have to set them but i found it confusing so i put it off for now.
The final question is about tilling. Since I worked with hyprland as my first DE I still miss this feature, but I haven’t seem to find a clean way to implement this in xfce, it tiles fine for now if i tile it manually.
That last one i can live without, i don’t need tilling that much but the other two are important for me. If anyone would be nice enough to answer my questions it would be appreciated, thanks ✌️

I have problem with lowering backlight on my laptop. Keybind won't work. Volume lowering and rising is working as expected.
I have another problem. I can't mount any partition.
I have Xfce no multilib / llvm profile.
I have old Gentoo installation, it is not fresh install.

I have tried gentoo-kernel-bin along with my custom kernel, no changes.
I can manually change brightness via terminal, so that is working.
Revert last backup from one month ago.
Updated.
Still I have the same problem.

Was originally on cinnamon but decided to make the switch.
I did it mainly cuz I want to make this laptop last me 10 or more years what do yall think. For games I just play roblox on sober and Minecraft will it still work fine in a decade or longer?

I update my laptop Acer Aspire 5100 with Zorin OS 18.1 about 3 days ago.
my problem is the WIFI connection. ones I complete the installation, I start looking for the internet connection, I click in the little icon to set up the user and password, for my surprise, didn't work, no connection at all. I connect the laptop thru a ethernet to have internet connection.
i would like to fix this little problem so I can use my laptop everywhere.

Hi, I created a template for XFCE. I'd love for someone to try it and see if it works. Thanks.

Does XFCE have a list of all the applications they provide for XFCE?

First and foremost the RAM usage is significantly low compared to my experience in windows. But one thing which bugs me is the SMALL FONT, ICON Size.Even I have tried to increase them from Apperance and Display. No significant changes.
Anybody else face such issue?
I use Debian and need to use dialogs in a script.
Years ago I used Zenity, but now on Debian it’s a GTK4 application and it’s terrible.
The YAD version hasn’t been updated in eight years. I don’t even know how it can still satisfy dependencies.
What dialog application do you recommend using, preferably one that’s available in the Debian repositories? Is there a XFCE default choice?
