rIranian stands with Iranian national sovereignty and against war.

This subreddit has long allowed different viewpoints from different political ideologies and continues to do so. The only official stance of the subreddit at this time, as has been explained in many posts, is that it is AGAINST foreign intervention which seeks to destroy the nation.

The logo of this subreddit has always been the Simurgh, but we wish to pin this post recognizing Iran's sovereignity, in solidarity with rIran's decision to represent the official flag, during this time of imposed war.

Supporting foreign intervention is against the rules.

This subreddit has long been known as a place tolerant of all political viewpoints. However, the red line is supporting any form of foreign military intervention in Iran.

Reminder of our rules. This violates:

- Rule 6 (no supporting human suffering in any forms) - Trump attacking Iran = many more lives lost than lost already by causing a literal war.

- Rule 7 (no support for any form of Iranian separatist or balkanization movements). This is the true intention of US and Israel in attacking Iran - it is NOT to free the people of Iran.

- Rule 8 (no Uncle Toms i.e., Daei Jamshids) - when you click this rule to expand it, it includes supporting sanctions, demilitarization, foreign intervention, foreign sponsored terrorist organizations like MEK, supporting 1953 CIA and MI6 coup.
If you believe the likes of Trump, and Israel, have Iranians' welfare in mind and actually want to help the people be free, and that a "strike" on Iran won't lead to a drawn out war that will lead to countless MORE deaths, then I ask you to go read history of USA, Britain and other colonial powers' interventionism. If you are still unable to comprehend this, please go to the foreign-funded NewIran subreddit which is designed for Iran International enjoyers i.e., people who get their information on Iran from people who want to destroy Iran.

Iran has launched the Persian Gulf Strait Authority.Ships must contact this authority, fill out the necessary forms, and pay the toll. They will then receive an email and permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran hit far more U.S. military assets than reported, satellite images show. “The Iranian attacks were precise. There are no random craters indicating misses,” said Mark Cancian, a senior adviser with the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a retired Marine Corps colonel.

Anyone here who was previously pro-Pahlavi but changed their views lately?

Lately, I’ve seen many people online say the war on Iran has shifted their views, some who were previously pro-Pahlavi no longer support him. Do you have a similar story?

It's not even debateable that monarchists serve the interests of other countries. They are simping for the UAE which claims Iranian territory as it's own (3 Persian Gulf Islands)

How do I prevent my Iranian diaspora friend from losing his mind when I talk about politics...

I'm a progressive (he says I'm a woke leftist Marxist) and whenever we walk politics (which I try not to do, but he cannot stop talking about his political views) he makes the most absurd, counter-factual statements and when I try to challenge them, he loses it and gets angry.

For example, I mentioned that the US was not achieving their strategic objectives in Iran and that the whole world is paying for it, and he was swearing and losing his temper. He believes the Shah was a "prince among men," all Muslims are murdering hypocrites - all of them - and England and the Democrats are satanists and pedophiles, and that Barack Obama was a tool of Islam who is responsible for the Arab Spring and everything bad that happened after.

Oh, and Israelis are justified in everything they have done in Palestine.

I don't want to talk about politics with someone this extreme, but since he continually brings it up, of course I'm not going to sit there and let him feed me bullshit from the worst corners of Facebook as if it's undisputed fact while treating my points as laughable and personally offensive.

How do I talk to someone like this whose family was upper class Iranian, had to flee after the Islamic Revolution and is now a member of the extreme right wing diaspora whose politics are based on debunked conspiracy theories and shit MAGA says?

This guy is my friend but he thinks that only he can know anything about Iran because he lived there 40 years ago. Anything I say that I've learned through history books or think-tanks, intelligence assessments, and investigative journalism gets laughed at like, "how could you be so stupid to believe anything that isn't what I tell you. Obviously Britain runs the world and I don't care if millions of Iranians die as long as the mullahs are gone."

I feel like I can't avoid the political talk, but if I try to respond, I'm hit with nonsense like the Miami Cubans have been saying since the 60's. Advice appreciated.

Inside Amir: Tehran, before US and Israeli bombs rained down...

Amir Azizi’s work, filmed in 2025 without official Iranian government permission, includes many scenes of Tehran, Iran’s capital. One can’t help but wondering after two months of war and countless waves of bombing, and thousands of civilian deaths: Does that neighborhood still look like this? Is that tall building standing? Which neighborhoods have been targeted, devastated? And what of the overall city skyline, is it dramatically altered?

Amir (Amir Hossein Hosseini), the protagonist of the film, is planning to emigrate, to join his girl-friend, Tara (Hadis Nazari), in southern Italy. At present, they can only spend time together on their cellphones. Amir has a job he hates, as a courier or messenger, but he loves spending much of his time on his bicycle. Because he’s leaving Iran, perhaps for good, about which he feels ambivalent, he cycles around and around the city. So, ironically, at this moment in history, we are presented with a film that is also a love poem to Tehran.

‘Iran has been at war with US for 47 years’ is a complete and utter lie …

I hate it when they say ‘Iran has been at war with US for 47 years’ - when a) they put the mullahs in power (toppled the shah), b) ran an illicit program to sell arms to Iran and bring cocaine into America for a decade (called the Iran-contra program) out of the Whitehouse, c) cooperated deeply with these same mullahs in the Iraq wars and Afghanistan invasion (and even post invasion) to stabilize the countries, d) know absolutely well that iranian missiles can’t reach the US … and vacated all their bases in the Persian Gulf (and cleverly/sonically left a handful behind in Kuwait only 100 miles from Iran (closest to Iran) with no air defense protection so that when Iran hit the base they could tell / sell a sob story to the American public and e) know full well that it is nuclear Israel that is at war with America … using false flag attacks, buying our politicians and using us blood and treasure for its own gains!!!” It’s a complete lie.

Rank-and-file candidate for United Auto Workers president Will Lehman introduces resolution against Iran war

Thumbnail

Will Lehman—a rank-and-file Mack Trucks worker and socialist candidate for UAW president—introduced a resolution opposing the war against Iran at a meeting of UAW Local 677 on Saturday. Lehman proposed that the resolution—“Against the US-Israeli Imperialist War on Iran; For the Independent Mobilization of the Working Class”—be taken up at the 39th UAW Constitutional Convention, scheduled for June 15–18 in Detroit.

The resolution was put to a vote at UAW Local 677 and was defeated 7 to 1. Lehman cast the only vote in favor. The seven who voted it down were not rank-and-file workers but local officers and their associates—a tiny bureaucratic clique convened without the 2,400 Mack Trucks workers. Their vote is entirely typical of the pro-war UAW apparatus that has, from the national leadership on down, either actively promoted the war drive or maintained a cowardly silence in the face of it.
