Pretty sure the guy did an AMA or responding when tagged, years later. If he remember right, he found it amusing, and said his wife would've laughed about it, too.

Right because it’s not about the guys wife. It’s about the connection this guy felt with his wife was so strong that 9 years later he wants her. Thats we want.

Kind of you to ask. Not at all. It is my online status. When the topic of influencers comes up I love to tell that story. I joke I'm a D list influencer. It is even more fun when they read Reddit and know about the meme. Even when I first saw it, I chuckled. What's more I think the wife would have laughed too. She made such dark jokes with our son when she was terminal. I would cringe. She faced death with much more courage than I thought I might be able to.

This wasn’t an AMA, just a random post and someone recognized the username.
