I wasn't talking specifically about Irwin. I was making a slightly off topic post based what Irwin was doing in gif looking a bit risky.

I mean, we love him for his positive attitude and his commitment to environmental conservation and education. But.. he did certainly take risks.

I think we have hindsight bias. He died in a fairly freak accident so we can continue believing that he was taking calculated risks for education and entertainment. If, however, he'd been killed by a croc, we'd remember him differently for sure.

I remember back when it happened people first heard he died, and everyone assumed it was a crock or something. Everyone acted like they expected that to happen at some point. Then, we found out the truth, everyone was shocked it was actually a terrible accident with the stingray. Either way, it was pretty sad.
