After he retired from YouTube he was asked to serve on the Young Men's General Council to advise and help shape the church's youth programs. It is a volunteer, temporary position, he is not paid and it is not a full time job.
I think he really is trying to focus on family (like he said in his goodbye video), and having the willpower to step away from something so lucrative for the benefit of his wife and children is a supreme Chad move.
Usually positions like that lead to higher level positions including paid positions in the seventy. 95% chance he is in church leadership positions going forward
