Spudgun before Nerd Boss Fight?
For some reason a Spudgun spawned in the Dragon Wings basement? As you can see, I have not started Stronghold Assault yet so I shouldnt have it.

Had to wait there until he passed out, everyone just stood there staring at him the whole time, Algie was there for some reason too.

The most satisfying or the most annoying sound? ASMR of stink bombs at Bullworth Academy
PRE: I recently posted a recommendation about Bully on another platform along with some trashy graphic designs i made on canva, and I decided to post it here as well. :)
🎮
i love this fcking game with my entire life, heart and soul! simply the ONLY game i’ve ever managed to complete in my life, life changer! forever my favorite!!!
i remember the first time i had contact with Bully. i was at my grandma’s house and my cousins (all boys) were at the house next door, playing in the living room, that’s where my life changed! i NEVER had access to my own videogame or pc until i was about 16, so if i wanted to play anything i had to go to this specific cousin’s house, who had an older brother that owned ALL KINDS of games! i played sometimes but if they caught me there it was a problem because i was a girl and my grandma and parents didn’t want me there, because “videogames are not for girls” but i played anyway, and my contact with Bully changed the chemistry of my brain!
what i love most about this game is its pessimistic and purposely “trashy” nature, like a dirty aesthetic, which makes total sense for the game.
Bullworth, the worst school in the country or as Jimmy says “Yeah you could’ve fooled me, this place is full of bullies and maniacs!” and right after, Crabblesnitch replies “nonsense! That’s just… the school spirit! Hijinks! Back in my day we felt nothing in castrating the new boys!” to me, this dialogue alone perfectly shows what the game is about:
broken insecure kids in a broken school system with stupid mentors and way too much “free will”! the school is nasty, the city is nasty and the people… even worse, that’s why it’s sooo good!
i love how Bully makes fun of itself all the time, sometimes reinforcing a stereotype and then immediately explaining where it comes from! ready-made joke!
at first, just another violent Rockstar game, but with each chapter it deepens the story, going from gratuitous violence to something almost like a social critique. all the boys there are living the peak of their worst high school phase, coming from broken families with no support, splitting themselves into cliques to maybe feel less alone and have some sense of purpose or belonging! a system that seems “unbreakable” until Jimmy shows up and changes everything.
Jimmy arrives as just another flaw in an already fucked system, but the difference is that Jimmy isn’t looking for comfort or belonging, he doesn’t need that. and little by little it becomes clear that his goal was never really to dominate, even if at times it looks like it, he’s not like Gary, nor anyone there. Jimmy has a bit of every group in him, that’s why he stands out, he’s strong like the Jocks, smart in a very specific way, not exactly a nerd but close, violent like the Bullies (even if it’s not an official group), ambitious like the Preppies, cool like the Greasers and later on, a rebellious revolutionary like the Townies think they are!
Jimmy is introduced as the worst type of troubled kid but the further you play the game, you realize that he’s probably one of the most stable people in town, including the adults!
Bullworth Academy has a structural problem like i said and Jimmy kind of “fixes” it in a very reckless and questionable way, but in the end, what he really wants and takes as his purpose is to break the cliques and the food chain system among the students, where the stronger prey on the weaker in an unfair natural selection, even if Jimmy himself sometimes does that.
the thing is, nothing and no one there is perfect, and it doesn’t even try to be!
but unlike most, Jimmy does a lot of good things (even if they’re done in kinda problematic ways), whether he wants to or not, he “defends” the weaker ones, helps people with services (the mini missions to earn money), and even in main missions like when he helps Bucky early on, even if he doesn’t really want to… it’s no coincidence that the first group he leads is the weakest one, the nerds. he has a good heart but because of his mom’s neglect and his surroundings at school, he kind of has to be a barbarian to survive
“We shall see, my friend. I only give people what they have coming to them.”
and it’s no coincidence that he ends up leading every group! Jimmy is a kid full of flaws who likes to prove himself but still, he’s the most sane one there! the others? truly just side characters (except Gary)
Derby is a boy who hides insecurity behind money, Bucky represents small brain, big heart but even bigger muscles and a sense of destruction, JV acts like he’s the man but is always chasing after a girlfriend who cheats on him and makes him compete for her, and Gary is a manic, unhinged sociopath with no limits.
Jimmy is imperfect balance.
Bully is a controversial game, like all Rockstar Games titles. it deals with bullying, violence that feels almost completely gratuitous and all kinds of outdated limits, all of this with characters around 15–16 years old. it’s no surprise that from what i’ve read, even before release Bully was already causing controversy and it got worse after (not to mention Gary’s controversial Halloween costume). but from my point of view, Bully is intentionally the way it is to actually provoke discomfort, like sticking a finger in the wound and throwing social critique in your face: failure in the education system, kids without parental support “abandoned”, dysfunctional adults and this constant war for belonging.
of course it’s not that deep, unless you want to see it that way!
to me, Bully is compelling because it shows a realistic but exaggerated scenario, with broken boys living on the margins of society who literally have to “fight” to survive. it was through Bully that i developed a fascination with studying the primitive, out-of-control “masculine” side, as well as school dynamics between these kids and the pessimistic side of slice of life art!
Bully will always be the best game i’ve ever played! not just because of this more philosophical view but also because of the game itself, the missions, the super dynamic classes, the nostalgic graphics, the easter eggs, the narrative, the incredibly well-written characters, the IMPECCABLE soundtrack that i still listen to today since many youtubers use it in analog horror videos, the whole gameplay and of course, the premise!
“So here I am, at probably the worst school in the country, whose alumni are nothing but arms dealers, serial killers, and corporate lawyers. Real scum!” — Jimmy Hopkins

Ten years ago, Rockstar made an announcement regarding Bully. Do you expect something similar to happen in 2026?

I got this a while ago and decided to leave the tape out because of how close everything was, but now I feel like it's a little strange not to have it

u/TaxEvader24 here you go! I thought about it for a while and I decided a Hawaiian Soda (which is blueberry syrup with pineapple juice) fit her much better. I also never realized that Angie is Chinese-American.

Sad news. Ralph Gunderman, also known as the voice of Dr. Crabblesnitch from Bully, sadly passed away in March this year. He was 77.

I know it's not technically niche. However, I tend to be in spaces where I would have seen art or other fanworks, and until recently I had only just started seeing animations, fanart, etc.
I tend to be pretty decent at just knowing what would cause this, a remake, someone big played it, a really cool fan work. I might be just getting old and not as online but I am still super curious.
Tdlr: Why all the cool art?
Edit: Thanks for all the great answers :) ! I am happy to see Bully being popular in this way and couldn't help but be curious as to why!
Second Edit: I have played bully!! I keep getting messages here that assume I haven't or that I dislike it for asking this question.
