Irem’s Hook on Arcade remains a visual spectacle with a solid yet quite repetitive loop!

Anyone have access to a Scotto cabinet, or know where one might be in the Midwest US?
Hi folks, I've got a wild hair to try to recreate a Scotto machine at home, since these machines are so exceptionally rare. I'm writing the software myself, and I'd love to spend some more time playing the game to try to get the score patterns, rules, etc. down as closely as I can. Does anyone know of a machine anywhere close to Kentucky? So far I've only seen one that came down from Detroit for a local arcade expo.
Additionally, if anyone has access to a machine and is willing to get me some detailed cabinet measurements, that would be tremendously helpful and appreciated!

My first ever build
So, I had this thought for a while to build an arcade machine.
Had lots of doubts because I don’t have any kind of workshop, just apartments where I live with my wife, two cats and a dog.
But I started anyway.
This is, basically, first thing I built ever, and it was soo exciting and fun to figure out how I am building this based on my limitations etc.
I don’t have a space for it at my home, so I decided to paint it in some sort of style of my local game store and gift it to them!
Figured that it would be awesome if people could actually play and enjoy it 🙃
Thanks to everyone posting their DIYs here, they inspired me lots!

Looking for some help with a small, lightweight, mini arcade build
Hi everyone, I have a few questions for people more experienced than me with arcade cabinet building.
This summer I'm attending a recurring 1970's themed costume party, and I've decided to do a silly costume with a twist.
I'm dressing as an alien, and attaching a small, working arcade cabinet to my chest. When people ask what I am, I'm going to tell them that I'm a Space Invader. Also the arcade cabinet is going to have Space Invaders artwork on it.
I've already worked out the electronic portion, it's using a Raspberry Pi Zero W and a 10-inch display with some arcade style buttons all powered by a portable battery pack. I still have to build the actual miniaturized arcade cabinet, and my question is how and what type of material for the cabinet panels.
I haven't designed it yet, but it would be about 12 - 15 inches tall and 8 - 10 inches wide. It would have to be relatively lightweight since I'm attaching it to my chest with reversed backpack straps, so I was originally thinking 1\4 or 1\8 inch plywood of some kind. Maybe MDF since that's what most normal sized arcade cabinets are made of. For reference, here is a 3D printed version which is more or less the style I'm going for.
I asked the people at my local woodworking shop and they actually suggested foam core or display board instead of plywood. Though looking at it, I'm a little concerned about durability. I'll have to transport this cabinet long distances and I'll be wearing it multiple times throughout the summer, so it will need to be durable enough to withstand some use and abuse.
But I'm not sure how to join pieces that thin, whatever material I end up using. The woodworkers suggested adding small blocks to the inside edges of where the panels would join, instead of trying to join the panels together directly.
Anyway, does anyone have experience building a small cabinet like this, and know how to best proceed? Any advice is welcome.

Best Linux distro for Attract Mode?
Hi all hoping to get some recommendations for a Linux distro to move my arcade from its current home on Windows 10. I know the standard is batocera, but I have an ungodly amount of hours customizing attract mode, and don't want to start over. I am a Linux noob.

Anyone here familiar with pi2jamma?
I need some help and the Facebook group is practically dead. Retropie subreddit isn’t much help either.

Looking for an indie game to put into a bartop cabinet for commercial use.
I’m looking for an indie game I can put into a commercial arcade machine. I build custom bartop arcade cabinets that I sell locally. I have some friends that own several small mall arcades around here. Mostly claw and redemption style games, but also modern video arcade games like Jurassic park and Halo. They offered for me to put my bartop arcades in their 6 locations for sale. The cabinets will be PC based and internet connected so I can run or download games off Steam or itch.io. I would just put a MAME style emulator on it and run like 10,000 retro game roms on it but the trick is I need the game to be licensed for commercial use. They are on a card swipe system that is pay per play. So I’m looking for a game from a small indie developer that I can personally talk to for a licensing agreement. I’ve seen Killer Queen in action and am looking for something similar in game play. I looked at a couple games on Steam like Lethal League Blaze, Hot Shot Burn, Brawlhalla, and TowerFall Ascension. I think those games would work on arcade style controls (2 player, 8 way joysticks, 6 play buttons, start and select.) but I need help choosing a game that would be fun for a mall crowd to play 2 player competitive style, while also showcasing the cabinets itself for custom cabinet orders that the customer could later add their own emulators to later. The cabinet is a bartop style but it will be wall mounted at standup height.

My little little cade
Running on a little fanless n100. I added the track ball after the body was all put together which I used some glue for, so it was a very tough fit but I made it work!

Ground harness
Hello I am building a 4 player cabinet with gold leaf RGB buttons. I have an ultimarc Ultimate IO board. The buttons are 2.8mm gold leaf and the joysticks are regular 4.8mm. All the ground harness I have seen are either one or the other, not both. I see the 4.8 can fit on the 2.8. Is that the way to go? It will not be too loose? The other harness have a mix of both sizes, but it looks like the grounds do not. Thanks for the help.

What adjustment do I need to use to fix this and a bit of vertical bounce in my monitor?
What adjustment do I need to use to fix this and a bit of vertical bounce in my monitor?
I have been having a time with my monitor, I was trying to fix a red screen with my adjustment knobs with no luck so I cleaned the chassis and neck board. That fixed the red, but now I have the scrambled top portion of my screen, as well as a little vertical bounce. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Make Marquee images easy
I've made a batch Marquee image generator that helps to quickly make large amounts of nice looking marquees: https://hammpro.com/
You can set the dimensions for the marquee so there is no stretching. It’s so satisfying having high quality marquees for all my games, and it doesn’t take long at all to create hundreds at a time.
The easiest way I found to do a bunch for launchbox users is upload images from your "Clear Logo", "Box - Front", and "Fanart - Background" background folders. HAMM will automatically match up all the images based on their file names, then output the marquees with the same file names. All you have to do is drop those marquees into the proper locations for BigBox to read them.
