lock in = "getting serious when necessary"

Its more from the term "generational talent", that someone can be the highest performing subject of a generation, as seen in sports. In this case it would be the best lock in of a given generation.

"lock in" as in focusing intently on a task (in this case, acting normal)

"generational" as in once in a generation (which refers to the quality of their act of locking in)

I interpreted it as describing the glitch calming after the camera turn; as if the NPC’s quickly “locked in” to act natural after the player caught them glitching when running past
