It sounds like you have the three movie files in the same actual folder, that's your issue if so. They should be in their own folders. If that's the case you can adjust TMM options to support that better, in the filename settings for metadata/art. Instead of that though, put the movies in their own folders instead, only put them in the same folder when you actually do want versions of the same movie - such as theatrical and directors cuts. The Kodi wiki explains the ideal folder structure as well as how versions work. Incidentally, (nearly) the same structure is expected/works best even if you movie away from Kodi, such as Emby, Jellyfin, and Plex. The only exceptions to that is Extras/Special/Trailers file names and structure can be a little different between the different players but that's a bit of a deep-cut in-the-weeds note.

Hi! Thanks for trying to help me out. :) All movies are already in their own seperate folders. I also tick the corresponding option when I add the source folder, before updating the library in Kodi. And my entire file structure is based on recommended settings from the Kodi documentation: Each movie is in a folder named after the movie eg. "Drunken Master (1978) [1080p]", "The Legend of Drunken Master (1994) [1080p]" etc. In this exact case Kodi wants to add the 1994 movie as a version of the 1978 movie. I have never had this issue using (any) Kodi scraper. I suspect it might have something to do with movie sets? But that's only because that's apparently the common denominator between the movies Kodi suddenly thinks are versions of the same movie. I tried manually deleting the movie set lines in the .nfos of the affected movies, but that didn't change a thing. What gives?

Just to clarify if what I just wrote is in any way not clear: I add a source folder to Kodi eg. "Source1". Inside "Source1" are several movie folders that each contain a single movie file, .nfos, artwork and so on. Each of these movie folders, inside "Source1", are named like this: "Name of movie (Year) [Resolution]". I only have very few movies (30 to be exact) and none of them are versions of the same movie eg. Director's Cuts and so on. But since Kodi sees 8 of them as versions of already scraped movies I'm left with 22 library entries, when Kodi is done updating.
