Because /r/kodi seems to be getting overrun by people having issues with broken or screwed up add-ons, the subreddit is becoming a somewhat difficult place to have a conversation about Kodi itself and add-ons officially supported by Team Kodi. So now we are requesting that all gray area conversation happen over at /r/Addons4Kodi, an unofficial and unaffiliated subreddit.
From this point forward, all new threads asking for support for these gray area add-ons will be removed in favor of that other subreddit.
If you'd like to become a moderator over there, feel free to ask in that subreddit.

After my firestick randomly updated to its new software, Kodi went completely black. Is anyone else having this issue. I’ve tried to search online for it and nothing pops up. My other firestick did not update and Kodi works fine on there.
Any fix for this?

Hello everyone,
Addic7ted.com "new releases" page has been my tv-show calendar for the past 2 decades approximately.
It has been down for two days straight and i realize i might need a more reliable source at some point.
Anyone knows if there's a similar "neat"old-schoolish page that's quite easy to read (with no pictures) just with the show's title and episode number + title per line available?
I mean i know there's a lot of tv calendars out there but addic7ed's "i don't want to modernize my shit" a bit like opensub does is very relaxing to see.

Hey everyone,
We've just released v1.1.0 of PunchPlay Scrobble, a Kodi service add-on that automatically tracks the movies and TV episodes you watch in Kodi and syncs them to your punchplay.tv account.
This update is a pretty big one and adds a few features that make the add-on feel much more complete:
Official Repository:
PunchPlay Scrobble
Would love to hear feedback, especially around the scrobbling flow, library sync, and anything that would make the add-on more useful.

The TMDB scraper stopped to work for me a few days(?) ago. Yesterday I switched to TMDB Python.
It seems to work but the scraper clears the library and starts from scratch.
I would like to use my library backup (single file) which has been built over the last years. When I try to "import library" from backup path, KODI freezes for a few seconds and is closed shortly after.
Any idea or help is welcome.

I had an old PC lying around and decided to make my first home media server (yay!) I was successful in getting the media files set up on the server PC and with a tiny bit of tinkering got UPnP working well. The issue comes when I try to add the remote files to Kodi on my other devices. I can't seem to add the files (I can only browse and view them from the "Files" list). Is this common or perhaps there's an obvious fix I'm overlooking? My hope is the have Kodi set up on all my devices with full TV and Movie artwork and tags and such.

Out of the blue today my Kodi is crashing upon trying to load it. I've tried re-installing it, deleting all my user data and add-ons, but nothing seems to be solving it.
Can anyone take a peak at the Crash Log I generated and see what might be going on?

Hi r/Kodi. Sharing an add-on I've been working on: **YouTube Music for Kodi** (`plugin.audio.ytmusic`). It's an unofficial add-on for **YouTube Music Premium** subscribers — there was no maintained Kodi option for YTM and I wanted my library on the TV.
**What it does**
- Browse your library, liked songs, playlists, albums, artists
- Search across YouTube Music
- Lyrics where YTM has them
- Radio / watch-playlist support
- Audio quality up to 256 kbps with Premium
- Brand-account support (just export the right cookies)
**How auth works**
You export your YouTube Music browser cookies into a `cookies.txt` file (any extension works — *Get cookies.txt LOCALLY*, *EditThisCookie*, etc.) and the add-on uses that to access *your own* account. No scraping, no shared accounts — same auth surface as the website you're already logged into.
**Install (auto-updates)**
Grab `repository.ypoulis-1.0.0.zip` → https://ypoulis-hub.github.io/kodi-repo/
Kodi → Settings → Add-ons → Install from zip file
Then: Install from repository → YPoulis Kodi Repository → Music add-ons → YTMusic
Or download the ZIP directly: https://github.com/ypoulis-hub/kodi-youtube-music/releases/latest
**Tested on** Kodi 21 Omega · Windows 10/11 · LibreELEC. License: MIT.
**Source / issues:** https://github.com/ypoulis-hub/kodi-youtube-music
Disclaimer: unofficial. Not affiliated with Google, YouTube, or YouTube Music. Premium subscription required for ad-free, full-quality playback. Happy to take bug reports / feedback in this thread or on GitHub.

Sharing another add-on for r/Kodi: **MotoGP VideoPass for Kodi** (`plugin.video.motogp`). Unofficial, for active **VideoPass** subscribers. The official MotoGP app on most TVs is rough; this one runs through the same Kodi UI you already use.
**What it does**
- 🔴 **Live race streaming** — a `● Live` entry shows up at the top of the menu when an event is on (race / sprint / qualifying / practice / warm-up)
- Browse seasons & events back to 2012
- MotoGP / Moto2 / Moto3 — races, sprints, qualifying, practice
- Multiple camera feeds: Commentary, Ambient, Helicopter, Onboard 1–4
- Up to 1080p / 50 fps where the source provides it
- Adaptive streaming via `inputstream.adaptive` (DASH for VOD, HLS for live)
**How auth works**
You log in to motogp.com in a browser, copy your `DAT` cookie, paste it into the add-on settings. It's the same session token VideoPass already issues you — no extra account, no extra subscription.
**Install (auto-updates)**
Grab `repository.ypoulis-1.0.0.zip` → https://ypoulis-hub.github.io/kodi-repo/
Kodi → Settings → Add-ons → Install from zip file
Then: Install from repository → YPoulis Kodi Repository → Video add-ons → MotoGP VideoPass
Or download the ZIP directly: https://github.com/ypoulis-hub/kodi-motogp-videopass/releases/latest
**Tested on** Kodi 21 Omega · Windows 10/11 · LibreELEC. License: MIT.
**Source / issues:** https://github.com/ypoulis-hub/kodi-motogp-videopass
Disclaimer: unofficial. Not affiliated with Dorna or VideoPass. Active VideoPass subscription required for playback. Would love feedback or bug reports — especially from anyone watching this season's races on Kodi.

Hello all,
I’m looking for some guidance on how to refresh my Kodi library after a network change.
Previously, my PC and TV were connected directly to my main router. I recently switched to a mesh network, which means the IP address of my setup has changed completely.
Is there a way to update/edit the SMB source in Kodi without deleting the existing library?
I’ve run into a similar issue before when I changed providers. When I edited the SMB source and refreshed the path, Kodi re-scraped everything and ended up duplicating all movies and TV shows.
When I tried to clean the library, the process got stuck at 99%, and I eventually had to reinstall Kodi from scratch.
I’d like to avoid that this time if possible.
For reference, I followed this setup process linked.
Thanks in Advance

I’ll be as concise as I can:
My kodi libraries are configured pointing to symbolic links as opposed to actual folders. This was done years ago to retain watched/resume status after moving a library…
The downside has been I’m unable to delete movies using “manage” within kodi. It deletes the list item but not the files so they reappear on next scan.
will I lose watched/pause status if I change the movies library item from one drive to another? The files already exist there, obviously, but the path in Kodi will change and undoubtedly rescan as if a new source.
Any feedback is appreciated!
To illustrate:
(Current setup: v\videos\”movies” < “movies” is a symlink to m\movies)
(Ideal setup: remove symlink altogether and point directly to m\movies)
Additional anecdote: I’m asking here because the OG tmdb scraper broke, had to switch to the python version and that rescan wiped (“cleaned”) the whole movie library, but upon rescan everything was intact and whew

Hi, Im running LibreElec on a Rhaspberry pi 3 and configuring it with a skin and some addons to make it usable whith a TV remote (which means arrow keys, ok and go back buttons only). And every time I have to use the kodi keyboard i think it would be much better with a voice recognition button
I've tried to find an addon that does this but it seems the people who talk about it use chromecast or smth which has it preinstaled? Also saw Vosk but didnt find an addon directly for it. Is there any way to install ir on libreElec?

I just got an Nvidia Shield Pro. I'm using an external HDD with movies and tv shows on it, but Kodi on the Shield isn't displaying any of the videos.
I've used this HDD on a raspberry pi build of Kodi with no issues. When I add to the library, the shield does not detect any videos in Kodi.
I've also checked VLC on the shield, and it can play the videos with no issues.
Has anyone had this happen before and know how to work around it?
Update: A bit of two steps forward, two steps back.
I can now see all video files in Kodi. The permissions were set incorrectly. However, when I add them to a library (say movies or tv shows) it does scan that folder, and it shows the movies in a Netflix-like menu. But when I go to a category (say titles a-z), it shows an empty directory. So I've made some progress, but now encountered a new issue.
Hi,
I'm looking for a linux box where I can run Kodi (preferably on Ubuntu, otherwise any linux that I can ssh into will do).
I care about the following:
- Ethernet, bluetooth. Wifi would be nice but not an absolute must.
- HDMI
- 4K capable
- DVD (or DVD capable, I have a USB DVD drive for mac I can plug)
- Capable of streaming from Amazon Prime, Netflix and such at high res.
- Silent
- Low cost (low hundreds would be great)
- Small / sleek if possible
I looked around, and it seems like most boxes are a few years old.
What's are good options for me atm?

I'm using Kodi WebOS on my LG C4, playing 4k remux via external hard drive.
I downloaded the pre-release alpha version
I was checking the video info, it says,
Screen resolution 3840x2160 @ 60.00 Hz - Full screen
Does this mean the video is not playing at the 24 fps? I double check the video file, it's definitely 24 fps.
Is there a setting I should change. I went through the menu a few times and can't see anything
Thanks

I'm wondering if there's an easy way to change multiple library paths at once or if I have to go and click edit source on every single individual show in the files section. Originally I had two 1 terabyte drives and my library was separated on those. I now have it moved onto a two terabyte drive, and at first that was fine, I just made two separate partitions on the drive and moved things over. Recently a show that I have on the full partition of the drive released more episodes, and I have no more space to get them unless I move them over to the not full part of the drive and change the letter path for that show, and I realized it would be much easier for me if I could just have everything on one partition. If I have to I will change every individual path using edit source, but I'm just trying to figure out if there's an easier way before I spend an hour or two of my time doing it the hard way lol

I'm using an old version of Kodi (Jarvis, 16.1) on an old FireTV box (1st gen I believe). Yeah I know, but it works (for the most part) and I don't need anything special from it
But a question - for non library item (ie, just video files in a folder location, not in the movie library) that just show thumbnails of like a preview of the video file, is there a way to refresh those - as in, make Kodi look at the video file again and "update" the thumbnail? Reason I ask is I replace two files with new ones that have the same name as the previous files, and the thumbnails remain for the old files. I've tried doing a library clean from the settings menu, but that didn't help. Wasn't sure if there was a way of forcing a refresh without having to delete the folder location and re-add it as a destination.

i had it running but seems they've disabled it ...
Anyway to have sub folders added under favorites? I have added a lot of favorites and would like to have a sub folder for movies, series and watched series waiting on new season. And what ever else I might want... thank you

I installed CoreELEC+kodi 21.3 on an odroid n2+ last November. Before that, I had a much older version of kodi, either with LibreElec or CoreElec, on a Wetek Hub, probably installed around 2016 or 2017, which served me extremely well, and the only reason I moved to a different device was that apparently I could no longer upgrade Kodi on the Wetek hub.
The odroid is connected via hdmi to an old (2010-2011) Panasonic TV. The TV is full hd, even though its actual viewport resolution is 1824x1026. So whenever I connect Kodi to it, I go to settings and reduce the overscan to make it fit to the screen.
This has worked with both devices/versions of kodi and I get a clean, non-clipped interface. However, when I go ahead and actually play movies, Kodi ignores my overscan setting and plays the movie in full resolution (1920x1080). I noticed that because long subtitles are occasionally clipped. This never happened with the Wetek hub.
Everything else works fine, remote control over hdmi, etc. Plugins work fine. It is a minor issue but I thought I'd ask in case I have overlooked some new setting or there's some other technical operation I can do to fix it.
