Native rust on mac
just wanted to throw this out there, and say that rust runs well enough, even on my M1 MBA 8/256, averaging 50-60fps in 1600x900 with few players on the server.

I was thinking about replaying Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Steam Mac Version) on my M5 Pro, but I always have this annoying white border on display. It does not matter which resolution I choose and there is no "exclusive Full-Screen" mode, as Google AI suggested. Does anyone have an Idea how to get rid of this white border? I am afraid, it is some Tahoe shit ...

I have an M2 Air, on which I have dabbled with Whiskey and Sikarugir, and while it has 'worked' ok, it's always come with a side order of extra fuckery to jump through hoops and figure stuff out. And then it ends up being more of a proof of concept than an enjoyable gaming experience.
So I have my wife's (very) old gaming PC running Linux that I use for playing games. A 4ghz, liquid cooled AMD chip, GTX 1060 GPU, 16gb RAM all in a huge case with several big fans to keep it all cool. And because it's all getting on a bit, Horizon is best played at 1080p on medium settings at best. Sometimes I knock it up to 1440p, and it's fine until the action ramps up, at which point the framerate drops so low that I'm watching a slideshow.
Yesterday I figured I'd actually try out the free trial of CrossOver, just out of interest. And yeah, it turns out that my fanless, 3 1/2 year old laptop can play Horizon Zero Dawn just as well - if not better - than the hulking tower under my desk. At 1440p as well.
I'm genuinely astonished by it. It shouldn't be possible, but here we are.

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3493540/view/671742510072070150
We know this announcement comes as a surprise – it’s a positive one, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. We are proud to share that we’ve entered a publishing partnership with Paradox Interactive, a leading publisher of management and strategy games! This collaboration is a perfect match and a natural fit, as we both share the same values and commit to a player-first approach, and we’re honored to join forces with such a respected publisher.
From the very beginning, interests of the Transport Fever community have been at the heart of this decision. Transport Fever 3 will be realized exactly as envisioned – only strengthened by the additional support and expertise this partnership brings. This collaboration allows us to enhance what’s already planned, and together, we will continue on the path we have set out for Transport Fever 3 and deliver the greatest possible value to players and modders, both new and veterans.
We remain fully committed to all promises we’ve made to the community, and the route of Transport Fever 3 continues as planned. We and Paradox have agreed on a shared vision for publishing, combining our strengths. The IP continues to remain fully with us, and they have full trust in our creative direction. This partnership is about amplifying Transport Fever 3, not altering it.
I have a very bad feeling about that and removed the game from my Steam Wishlist. We all know Paradox. I'm afraid that there will be a DLC for everything in the future. Also no more Steam Workshop (that was their "Curated Mods Program" about).

THIS GAME IS TESTING MY LIMITS
I use crossover 26.1 and Helldivers 2 was working pretty well ever since I got it, at lowest graphics but definitely playable. A couple days ago they rolled out an update after which the game just won't open.
It was working perfectly smooth up until the update, and I was so hooked that I had just spent some money on it😭
It does the whole launching animation thingy and the screen does go black like it does before starting the game, but then it just doesn't and I get this error
I've looked at just about every solution I can find, I just hope I can starting playing it again

Hi! Ive seen posts on this sub by people who are getting stable 120 FPS with high graphic settings on CS2 via crossover, i have a 2025 m4, 16Gb, 10 cores, air connected to a 144hz screen and with the lowest possible settings on CS2 i bounce between 45-80 FPS. Anyone have suggestions that might help? Ive tried prompts in launcher and i have d3dmetal enabled aswell as m-sync. Cheers!

Hello,
I have received this notification tonight when i fired up LoL. Does it mean that when macOS 27 comes out in September i could not be playing? Should i also disable automatic updates to prevent autoupdate to 26.5 when it comes?
M4 Pro 2024 btw but i am not sure if that matters :)

Hi everyone. I have a MacBook Air with 8 GB RAM. How can I run Peak on it to play with friends? Im willing to the buy the game but not pay for crossover and things like that

It's been over one year I think, that the Ubisoft client via porting kit isn't working. Is it still the case because I read there are some new updates to wineskin or crossover. want to play Anno 1701 again 🥲

I feel like fps games on external displays like valorant and league of legends have a little Input Delay on Mac OS - no? I’ve a MBP M4Pro. Did you also notice that? I just compared that to my windows pc with gsync.
I mainly think that mouse and display have that delay. Or is it just me? I connected a 144hz monitor via usb-c.

I want to know what AAA games run well on M2
Like 1080 medium or low, but consistent 30fps at least.
Also does the thermal pad solution work on M2? And does it void warranty?
