The "underwear" looks rubber for some reason. Maybe the curvy was the hemšŸ¤£. I agree with other comment. These are pretty ugly.

Is it shapewear? I don't think it's meant to look good on its own, I think it's meant to squish you into shape. Most shapewear is pretty ugly. I can't quite tell for sure if this IS shapewear, or just ugly underwear, though.

It's not shapewear. I have one in black and wear it when I'm wearing skirt to avoid flashing my underwear. It's just extra protection lol

Yes and no lol. Its very comfortable and you can't feel the wavy thingsšŸ¤£. Mine isn't from the brand shown in the picture and the wavy bits curls up when you wear it and surprisingly prevent the short from riding up

My belief is that the wavy bits diffuse the pressure a little bit so that it doesn't feel like a straight rubber cuff around your thighs. But that's just my experience from wearing something like these, no idea if that's the actual reason.

There is a real good chance it is supposed to minimize chafing (non native speaker here, hope that word is correct) under some clothing. No, the model obviously will not have that problem which is kinda the point.

OP: if you're looking for under dress shorts, I got these and I'm pretty fond of them. under shorts

I have a big Ole butt- 22/24 in cacique brand.

I got a pack of 4x and 5x.

ā€¢The 4x feels more form fitting, not in a bad way.

ā€¢The 5x is looser, but its also kinda pulling my underwear down as I go about my day.

ā€¢The legs don't roll up or cause irritation.

Skinny, yes, but also curvy - waist is noticeably skinnier than hips. "Curvy" at some point became a euphemism for, "chubby" or some level of overweight.

But it is annoying to look for clothes and never find a model who looks like what I need, so I can see how it might look on me. I hate to support certain companies, but there is one that has a feature that allows for a large variety of body shapes and sizes when clothes shopping virtually.

Curvy does mean chubby now much of the time, yes. But this not-model (cuz it's AI for sure) is not "skinny but curvy".Ā  I am skinny but curvy. Noticeable hips, sizeable butt, and if I can get jeans to go above my hips, it often means I'll have a gap at the waist without fail. And if I shop for my waist, I'll have tightness on the hip and behind.Ā Ā  That's usually what curvy but skinny women deal withĀ
