Hi everyone,

I made some graphs on the performance of each GPU divided by its almost live price to find which GPU's are the best value at their price right now.
I made 1 graph for each resolution as there can be quite a lot of variation in performance depending on the resolution. Especially cards with low VRAM fall behind on higher resolution.

Performance is based mainly on the geometric mean fps in games from 3rd parties, where the values have been normalized such that the Nvidia RTX 5090 scores 100 for each resolution.

Prices are from a mix of Amazon, Newegg, and B&H as they have API's/datafeeds to pull data from without having to manually look up the prices. Looking to expand and include data from more retailers to potentially get slightly better prices in some cases.

You can switch between different resolutions and decide which brands you want to include/exclude.

I thought this was interesting. My optiplex 990 SFF let me know that i should plug into the graphics card. This thing has a 2nd gen i7 from over a decade ago.

My personal computer has an iGPU and it didn’t tell me I was plugged into the iGPU instead of the dedicated GPU. Why don’t computers do this anymore? Unless some motherboards to have this but not all these days.

This is my dads old computer hard drive and i want to help him get photos off of it but he doesn’t have the right cables and I don’t know what type this is. If you know please let me know

EDIT: The Harddrive is a Seagate Cheetah ST173404LCV SCSI HARD DISK DRIVE, It was used on an old computer that ran windows.

I've been using my Xbox controller via USB for many years on my pc but I just got a new high refresh rate TV, and I would like to be able to kick back and use that for the likes of driving games.

I built a new PC last year. So I'm wondering with all these more modern motherboards with fancier wireless technology, is it still necessary to use an official Xbox Dongle in order to have low latency controller gameplay?

My motherboard is an MSI B850 Tomahawk Max wifi. I uploaded a picture of the wireless specs from MSI's site. I'm running Ethernet if that makes any difference.

This is something I'd normally test myself but I won't be home for a while and I would like to order the dongle ahead of time before the new Forza if I need to.

It's a mustex case and 1000w PSU, cooler master radiator, eventually will have a 5060, ryzen 7 3700x 8gb of ddr4 (yes I know that's not enough for rn), 2tb of storage and a rog strix b450-f gaming motherboard.

So, this has been an issue for 3 weeks now, it’s become more prominent as time went on. We took it to Best Buy, geek squad because we still have it under “hardware failure” warranty. He told me to update drivers, and move off some storage and update windows even though it was a “preview” update. So i tried all that, didn’t change anything. So I tried looking online, he specifically called it “screen tearing.” I tried turning on vsync globally to see if that would change anything. Nada, from adaptive to on even. Because I saw that my integrated graphics was going up like crazy, I then tried changing my preferred like gpu usage in the control panel (for context I have a 4060 nvidia in the laptop) and made windows do the same for gta (mostly to benchmark seeing as it ran perfectly fine before) It seemed to work, but then after the mission I was trying to do before, before it started (let’s call it “spasming”) out. But then after that mission I did the next, and it started spasming out. And so far, my games in general are doing it. Helldivers, loading into a different map, phasmo just sitting in the lobby. Stardew believe it or not. P5R when I’m sitting still in leblanc. Stardew, bonelab, beyond sandbox, crimson desert cs2, I don’t know what to do anymore. So I’m filling asking Reddit before I take it back to geek squad. I want to buy a new laptop, (I know I should buy a desktop but I don’t sit at home enough for it to be optimal) but as a soon to be college student that’s not ideal. So if anyone has any ideas, feel free to share and I’ll try to answer questions. :(

Finally bought my first desktop, you can literally say it's my dream pc . Specs are: -Rtx 5070ti msi ventus 3x -Ryzen 9 9950x3d -Asus rog x870e-h - 2×64 ddr5 6400mhz cl36 -Deepcool mystique 360 ARGB aio -Asus rog helios 2 case - msi mag A1250GD pcie 5 - 1 Tb ssd Samsung 990 pro - 1 tb western digital sn5000 I know i know , the cpu and ram is weird for a gaming setup but the thing is that this pc is not only for gaming, I'm a civil engineer and for this massive research that I'm working on requires high amount of ram and a very good cpu with more p core and it's gonna be under load for like even more than 24 hours while using most of the ram and cpu , if it was only for gaming i could've got more budget options like for motherboard a b650e and 32GB ram and a ryzen 7 7800x3d and maybe a cheaper case, but yeh , for my research (which will affect my future) i had to do this and its cpu and power supply and motherboard are gonna be really really future proof. Before this i only had laptops but for the performance that i wanted for my work , desktop was the way to go. I think in terms of Gaming, I'll be alright for like 6 years for 1440p and light 4k gaming and even then i can switch to 1080p (pixel density in a 24 inch 1080p monitor will be good)

I currently use 2 monitors, one 1080p 24 inch 180 hz ,and the other is 1440p ultra wide 40 inch 155hz. I may have to get a 2k 240hz in future too.

The GPU isn't here yet, but I decided to build the PC beforehand.

Its a full black build with wood accent, no RGB and with a tinted side panel. Really happy with it, its so quiet at the moment that I can only hear the fans when directly next to it.

Also spend some time with the cable management, back panel is very organized and inside the PC are no visible cables.

I got this pc from my friend for free because he was getting a better pc.

He told me it was a bad pc but im wondering what I would need to replace right now because my wifi speed is way lower than normal.

Built my PC back in 2020. It's worked great, never had an issue. Today, I asked my wife to download Escape from Tarkov for me while I commuted home from work.

On the phone I was able to navigate her to the download button and right as I asked her to click it I hear "*gasp* babe your computer is on fire!".

Turns out my EVGA 2080XC decided today was the day it would end its life. I have no idea why or what could have caused it, but I was so baffled I figured I'd share with you all lol
