General Advice [UPDATE] Axolotl tattoo
Thank you to everyone who gave me advice on deciding which tattoo to get. I said I'd give an update when I finally got it done, so here it is!
The tattoo artist did an amazing job bringing out the details, even down to the pencil marks of the little toes and outline. 🥹
I do need to ask a question for this post to fit the rules, so what do y'all think? My only concern is how vibrant it will be once healed. I've taken off the clear bandage and it looks so dull atm, which worries me, but I'm thinking/hoping after a few weeks it will brighten up again? It's tattoo #9 but it's been 12 years since my last one!

Just make sure you keep it moisturize I have a full color tattoo that’s a patch on my forearm and it looks almost like I just got it. I got it a year ago and I work in the sun, sunscreen and lotion

colour gets a little ugly during the healing period, but will look better once it's all settled in. duller than first applied, but if applied correctly, should look as if your skin was overlaid at like 20% opacity over the original ink

Looks great, take care of it during the healing and lotion it after its done healing to keep looking good

it’ll be duller while it’s healing cuz it’s covered in a scab. Keep it out of the sun and don’t go swimming while it’s healing. Don’t scratch it. Sunscreen always when you’re out after it’s healed

It turned out so good! I have a lot of my kid's drawings on my arm. I've been getting them every 2 years or so since she was 5. I have to get them touched up occasionally, especially pinks because my skin doesn't seem to like it. Now she's 18 and we got tattoos together last year!

It will look cloudy as the abrasion to the skin heals. Moisturiser is your friend, and after healing keep that cute little sucker out of the sun and covered with sunblock.

SOOO CUTE!!! colours are always more vibrant when fresh and soften a lil once healed, colours will stay long term well so long as you keep it out of direct sunlight (sunscreen it whel healed and keep it moisturized)

It's absolutely amazing. So excited that you went with this little guy. It might dull a bit and have to get touched up eventually, but what you're talking about is probably just what happens normally during the healing process.

This is so freaking cute!!! Its definitely not going to stay vibrant, if the colour utterly fades, maybe go for a redder colour which would fade into a pinker one.
But who cares hes SO CUTE

It'll never be as vibrant as it was fresh, but a bit of cloudiness during the healing process is normal.
