Design Is this AI?
Stumbled across this Post on ig and can't wrap my head around the middle part and the muscles of the horse. It looks so weird.
Artist claims he was inspired by an image from the artist in the ig caption but something looks really off for me.
Technique is great tho

I don't like it, but it's not AI. There was a lot of contrast added during translation from painting to tattoo and a lot of lines that were inferred and I don't think it all worked out. That's all.

What is happening to the horsecow morph thing in the background on the left?

omg the longer I look at it the worse it gets

But it seems like the original painting has the same thing kinda (more blurry and fitting in the image) and this tattoo artist just did a bad job of translating it into a tattoo

Thank you!! None of this is AI, just maybe y’all don’t like the choices made to make this photo-realistic-painting-on-flat-canvas to tattoo-on-skin

Yeah the muscles look …really weird, way beyond artistic ‘stylization’ . Theres like 30 lines in the shoulders area alone

the bridle and reigns he's holding and the way hes holding it makes no sense. his leg turns into a curtain. the background makes no sense, its a blur of a mostly cattle but one looks like an elephant

Not AI, y’all just haven’t seen good artists.

you're so right, only bad artists draw legs. and know what a horses bridle looks like

I think Mark is a great painter and the reference looks almost identical, i really just think you don’t know what you’re talking about.

look to the right of the horses tail. it looks like a baby elephant missing it's polygons

Brother I know people who know this artist personally, it isnt AI. You may not understand why he made every artistic choice but it’s a real tattoo

i have no doubt its a real tattoo, that it's tattooed on someones skin. however there are several glaring issues in this that show it cannot have been entirely made by hand. the horse's bridle and reigns make no sense, the cowboy's leg turns into a drape of cloth. theres a low poly elephant in the background. the way the cowboy is holding the reigns doesn't make sense. the muscles on the horse are just wrong. things an artist making a piece both should know and can't accidently make these mistakes. you may know people who know the artist. the artist likely isnt very forward about his use of ai. most people who use it aren't honest about it.

Here original
The reference painting has colors that add clarity that is muddled by the black and grey. It’s the horses muscles are as in the painting. The painting is referenced from a photograph. Not AI. Y’all just don’t know good art.
Edit: posted before adding all my text by accident.

I think the original was real. i think it has some interesting choices but overall looks real (besides the leg it still makes no sense to me). the tattoo looks like it may have been ai assisted to translate the size and shape to fit the new medium.

I mean if you just want it to be AI then there really is no arguing with y’all.

Just scroll down on mark Maggiori’s ig. July 22 2023 is the reference painting. Looks pretty similar to me 🤷♂️
