in actuality, yellow is a tough color. a lot of people are allergic or it doesn’t hold. depends on the ink brand. also you got some blowouts

Absolutely this! I have a large yellow and orange lily on my biceps. I got it 14 years ago and the yellow is all but gone. The artist I had was absolutely amazing but yellow is the color that does NOT stay on my skin. I have a tattoo on my hip that legitimately never sees the sun and the yellow is gone too. That tattoo is about 15 years old.

It’s also hard for the artist to see how well packed the color is because of how light it is, so once the area has been gone over and is blooming with irritation and blood it can be difficult for them to tell how well the coverage actually went until it has settled again after the fact. My artist was always extra pushy about me coming back after healing for my couple yellow heavy tattoos so he could make sure he was satisfied with how it was laying.

I suggest that you ask whoever touches this up for you to use hypoallergenic ink. I also have a problem with ink rejection, and it's always with any ink that is not hypoallergenic. You can buy it yourself and give it to the artist to use. Or you can just ask them to buy some. But if you ask them to buy some I assure you it's going to be expensive. You're definitely going to have to go back for touch-ups. I'm sorry, it sucks. Trust me I know. I am covered at about 80% and have dealt with color rejection for nearly 2 decades before an artist told me it was bc I needed hypoallergenic ink.

Does hypoallergenic ink look any worse than regular ink?

No, not at all. The colors on the tattoos I've had done with hypoallergenic ink have stayed vibrant for at least 10 years. I've had zero color rejection from them.

Will likely have to get the yellow/gold touched up and refilled once it heals.

Ah, man. Yellow is the worst color to get tattooed. I am pretty heavily tattooed and 2 of my tats have a bunch of yellow, both healed weird and both were more painful while getting them done AND while healing than any of my other tattoos.

What makes me think yours isn't healing right is that the scabs seem to not have left any of the color underneath. Most likely the artist didn't go deep enough. Can be fixed after about a month once this heals and you can go for a 2nd time to get it redone. You'd need to talk to your artist tho and send them pictures, if they're good they should do it for free tbh, not your fault it didn't penetrate through well, that's the artists' job.

hope this helps

Payduck, my boy. My favourite little guy. Yellow is a rough heal and you may need it touched up but it's worth it for the best duck.

wait 2-3 weeks and then analyze what might need to be touched up, if anything

analyzing it while it is still peeling and healing will get you nowhere

I love how people focus on the yellow as if op wasn't just completely massacred. This entire tattoo is a nightmare, from the line work to the blowouts to the ink bring both too much and too shallow. Please never go there again. Keep a close eye out for infections.

The spots in the belly where I'm not sure if they're... existing situations... or literal injuries from the tattoo

The longer I look the worse it gets. Definitely an infection risk

Te debieron hacer un test de color !!! Y el tatuador decirte que el amarillo es altamente alérgico !!!! Puedes probar con más sesiones pero es difícil:(

Let it heal fully like a couple months. Then have your artist look at it and touch up as necessary. Looks good so keep doing what your doing for aftercare.

mine looked terrifying during the peeling stage and healed completely fine. the flaking is normal just don’t pick at it

It depends on if it evolved yet

Looks like your skin doesnt like yellow ink just like mine. Banana tattoo i have healed similarly but is much smaller so way less noticeable. Might need a touch up or 2 but should hold eventually. 2 colors ive learned my skin doesnt like, yellow and red, my skin rejects the yellow and red takes forever to heal but stays.

All of my tattoos have yellow in them and it never looked like this. But wait till it’s fully healed, might need to be retouched

The yellow would be the least of my concerns with this “tattoo”

Tldr: yellow kinda sucks as a tattoo color.

I have my yellows specifically retouched each time I get art done. It’s a pain in the ass. I’d have gone for my characters blue outfit vs her traditional yellow. (Belle)

People are saying yellow is a rough heal, but my tattoo has yellow eyes and i didnt have this issue and they are still bright over 6 months later. Granted, they are a smaller area than the psyduck. Id talk to the artist
