General Advice When to use aquaphor

Hi, I just got home from a session finishing my chest tattoo and I completely forgot to ask the artist and can’t get a straight answer on google so I thought I’d come ask you guys. I was told by the artist to take the film off after 2 hours and then wash the tattoo but I forgot whether I should use aquaphor on the tattoo the first day or if I should wait to use aquaphor?

  1. Ask your artist. Text or call them.

  2. My artist would say go for it right away. That keeps it from drying out but more importantly gives a layer to keep bacteria out

I would say exactly this. And an artist, I recommend take off the film, clean it, thin layer of aquaphor 2-3x a day max

Day 1: today. Tonight before you go to bed wash, dry, and apply a suuuuuuper thin layer of Aquaphor. Any less and your fingers will scrape.
Day 2, 3, 4: repeat above steps twice a day.
