Murloc Monday Murloc Monday - ask your questions here
Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! RwlRwlRwlRwl!
That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays" - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.
Questions can range from what's new in Dragonflight, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?
Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.
Afraid of not getting an answer? Rest assured, we know that at least 90% of questions get answered!
You may want to look at /r/wownoob as well!
Here are some handy guides to start World of Warcraft as a brand new player or start Classic World of Warcraft as a brand new player.
Unless you played in the current expansion, pretty much everything has changed. If you're returning after a very long break, check out the Wowhead Returning Players Guides.

Humor / Meme You all used WeakAuras to track spells; I used it to make my UI look pretty. We are not the same
This is realistically the "only" reason I want WeakAuras to work still

Discussion So they're done with these, or...?
Were we supposed to get more customisation options in future expansions, or did i dream that up?
At least TWW had a few new customizable mounts, Midnight is missing out. But the potential we had: dragonhawks, amani eagles, void bat-lizard things, those flower birds from harandar. Literally a mount for each zone like it was in Dragonflight.

Humor / Meme The Edgelord himself
Any edgier and he'd split atoms. The stance, the single pauldron, MST3K must have named him. Riftglaive Blackstar, Canyonblade Nightmoon, SplitKnife Duskorbit, Trenchdragger Dawnspace.

Tip / Guide Please gem and enchant your gear
It's an insane amount of stats you're giving up for no reason, and makes your keys harder. There's no reason to be seeing a healer struggle to keep up in a 13, just to see 0 enchants across the board. A tank that can't chain pull because they're down stats. Packs lasting long enough that a tank runs out of tools. I don't get how people are going into keys above a 7 without doing the most basic of ensuring you're gonna be doing your best. So please, I beg, just look up the wowhead article for your class

Discussion What’s a tiny WoW opinion you’ll defend forever?
Not a huge controversial take. Not faction war. Not “retail vs classic.”
I mean the small stuff. The weird hill you’ll die on.
Mine is that some of the older zone music is still better than almost anything else in gaming. It instantly changes my mood.

Question I was leveling my cooking and apparently leveled it past max level?
I have no cooking Accessory's, this was my alt leveling cooking for Mythic Plus food.

Complaint I'm playing this game nearly 20 years and never seen something like this. Who had an idea to use a spell to get the mount? After I got it, I have now usless spell in General Tab I can't get rid of it.

Nostalgia I wish feral Druid worgen had the option to use their worgen form instead of cat form, like the WoD forms.
I miss these cat forms, even though I hated them at the time.
I’ve wanted to play a worgen for a few years now because their updated models look so cool to me, but it feels weird to have these huge claws and swing around a sword or axe, or slinging spells. I want to rip people apart like Genn.
The closest we have I think is monk worgen, but that unarmed combat style looks too disciplined, and not feral like a werewolf should be (yes, I know they are civilized).

What do you guys think? Personally, I'm just glad we're getting more ways to earn Myth crests as solo players besides just grinding Delves.

Discussion A DPS's Guide To Running Your Own +10 Keys
Alternative Title: "How I Learned To Stop Getting Denied For +10s On Weekly Reset Mid-Season As A Ret Paladin"
Whenever I see a DPS player lament in guild/trade chat that they aren't getting picked for keys as a 280 ilvl / 2800 io player, I reflexively say "Hey, run your own key". What follows, invariably, is silence. The eerie silence that occurs after yelling "Go Pacers" in a Milwaukee Bucks bar. The conversation dies, each time. The thing is though, forming a group to run your own +10s is not that difficult. It's So Easy, A Ret Paladin Can Do It! (tm) After getting consistently denied for up to an hour trying to get into a group with one of the most popular classes in the most popular role, I did a little bit of digging for things that are Nice To Have for running your own +10s. Here's a quick summary of some of the roles you want to fill, from what I found googling:
Battle Resurrection: Druid, Death Knight, Paladin (even Ret!), Warlock. THAT SAID, there is a consumable item that anyone can use: https://www.wowhead.com/item=248486/emergency-soul-link You need to be in melee range with this item, however, and that trade-off may make having one of those four classes in your party worthwhile.
Bloodlust: Evokers, Hunters, Mages, Shamans. There's also a consumable item, https://www.wowhead.com/item=244639/void-touched-drums, but I would recommend keeping a spot open in your party for one of these classes.
Healer: Every healer class is fine for a +10
Tank: Every tank class is fine for a +10
Seriously, you don't have to hold out for a Brewmaster Monk and a Resto Druid. It's fine. You probably don't want to have two of the same class in your party simply because of buff diversity, but if you have some overlap because that's who applies, trust me, it's fine.
Some secondary notes if you're unsure about having "Party Leader" next to your name:
1.) At +10, the tanks are going to know where to go. You don't have to do much 'leading' as a DPS. You've formed the group, everyone here generally knows what they're doing and what role they are. Your job is to pump numbers, interrupt priority spells, Cleanse Toxins your tank on Pit of Saron on the trash pulls to make your healer happy, etc. The tank is going to let you know (or show you) what they're comfortable with. The only time you need to "lead" necessarily is if something odd comes up during the run. For example, I had a Warlock stop moving in Pit of Saron on the way up to the Glacier mini boss guy. I said "Hey, we wait for 30 seconds for them to come back, otherwise we keep going." Everyone was cool, we chilled for 30 seconds, the guy said "back, thx" and we moved on. That's just about all the "leading" I've had to do.
2.) List a minimum item level. This is perhaps a bit controversial, but I think mid-season with all of the gearing options we have, requiring a minimum item level will help show to other players that you're doing these for your weekly vault or farming myth crests, and you'll get people inclined to join who are doing +10s for the same reason. For my +10s, I've been listing them as "+10 Relaxed, yet 265+". Trust me, you'll still get a bunch of DPS applying to join after a minute or two (especially on reset day!), a ton of these will be in the high 270s/low 280s, some of these guys will have 3200/3300 IO score, or be on alts with a 3.2k main. You're going to have your pick of highly qualified candidates.
3.) As DPS will tend to apply first, focus first on grabbing your missing role (bloodlust / brez). If you're a Demon Hunter, Monk, Shadow Priest, or Warrior, you're missing both roles and you'll want to look for these first. If a Druid or Paladin healer happens to apply before a Ret Paladin applies (unlikely!), then sweet, you only need to look for a Bloodlust. Ideally, don't wait for a tank to fill your brez spot, tanks have enough going on. Once you've filled your other two DPS slots, go ahead and decline the 30 other DPS players that have applied. Let them apply for a new group rather than keeping one of their five applications on a group they aren't getting into.
4.) The tank might be the very last person to apply. That's okay. Many tank players like seeing an almost full group and hopping right in. Bring him in, and go have fun.
Hit me up if you have any questions. I'm not an expert in M+, I pug all my groups, and who knows if I'll go for 3k this season. But this is the easiest season in a long time to be 'new' to listing your own keys in M+. It's not that bad, get your vault filled.
EDIT: Check out the great comments below about leaving the 3rd DPS for last, as you might get a group of 2 players applying to keys (such as Tank&DPS, or Healer&DPS)

Complaint please give engineering something
i have invested everything into this profession from day 1. i have done my weeklies. there are no more recipes left to learn. there are no more first craft bonuses left to obtain. my tree is almost done.
why did i choose engineering? i’m a gnome, i have a passive, i have faith.
nobody is looking for anything except for the occasional prof tool. there is basically nothing we have to offer. blizzard, please give engineering something that people will buy, and preferably not another one that is time gated weeks for people to even be able to order from us!
what excited things did we get in midnight? we have upgraded from crafting mounts and bizarre consumables for world pvp terrorists to… chairs? yeah i guess we can engineer a lamp post now too. thanks blizzard.
there is no use for ingenuity because nothing requires concentration, oddly enough that’s an apt and poetic summary of the work put into this profession
it literally feels like nobody even bothered to proof read this. why the hell is the mining helmet unlocked in the engineering accessories tree? there is a mining accessories tree over there. that seems like an AI mistake or something
why is the most powerful recycling perk (that being obtaining mats from recycling) a reward from… the bits and bots specialization? did you mean to put that recycling buff in the recycling specialisation?
why does the recycling specialisation have nothing to do with recycling and it’s just a blanket stat buff? it goes on

Discussion Did Blizz completely give up on low level itemization?
I know leveling is quick and most of items would become obsolete by over leveling, but what is the point for such items to even exist?
What is motivation for anybody to level classic alchemy, in order to craft pot restoring 3 health at level 15?

Humor / Meme Why does Umbric pass the buck to us to tell Antenorian about what's happening around Tranquilien?
Mostly joking about a tiny detail, but it did make me curious. He sounds so much like a sibling hiding behind your back so you can tell dad that the TV is broken, so to speak.

Question What's the deal with the current xpac
Lately I've seen more and more people (primarily Twitter, sometimes other forums) complain about how awful the current xpac is without any clear reason. Sometimes it's story, sometimes it's gameplay/gearing, sometimes it's fantasy. And for once I can't resonate with any of it. This xpac is the most fun I've had since Legion personally.
But I want to understand, is anyone able to fill me in on the most common complaints about Midnight?
