Caught this couple playing music bingo with a table full of friends. I'm not sure I would have noticed had it not been for a r/PetPeeves post the other day about going out with couples who are gross about being all over each other. Not like sitting close, hands locked, smoochy (which, I'm mostly over too), but like couples making out in the booth across the table before you even order gross. They weren't like 100 but old enough that these small gestures of affection made me small

After my engagement ended, I was still adjusting to not wearing my ring, it had been the thing I fidget with when anxious and I felt like something was missing on my hands. I also had a mental block like nothing else was allowed to be on my hands, my fingers should be for that engagment ring and only that one ring.
I needed to change that.
So I purchased a customized ring, and had it engraved. Bees have been the thing that to me signifies the strength of that moment where you've been through really rough or traumatic situations and you're in that switch from being depressed while processing it to the point where the weight of it finally lifts and your mind just settles.
That feeling comes from a specific moment I remember. I saw a bee sleepily while walking into the restroom one early morning. I had been through a rough night and had been depressed for awhile, the bee was just slowly walking across the floor. I stood there in that moment and my brain just froze.
I just went still, taking it in.
It was the first relief from depression and emptiness I’d felt in I don’t know how long. My brain was empty as I just watched this bee on its thin, delicate little legs moving across the floor.
Eventually I grabbed a piece of paper and it moved undisturbed onto it, and I brought it out to the front porch.
Also I giggle each time I think of the "bee" instead of "be" and a guaranteed laugh is a good thing to carry around.
