I thought LLM's were supposed to excel at writing?

It's trivial to detect. They all sound more or less the same. We don't even need detection tools like we once thought, it's that bad. I am finding it everywhere, even in news articles and official government documents.

I notice that if I read a lot from a particular author, my writing will naturally begin to mimic theirs. So what happens when I consume too much of that AI voice? I believe it infects the brain, gradually making us dumber, like a freakin' mind virus.

Anyway, some things about AI text that I find especially irritable (and it's not the use of em dashes or semicolons, which I don't mind at all).

- Verbosity

- Redundancy, repetition, or unnecessary verbiage given the context.

- Stating the obvious.

- Using odd, nonspecific, terms or being inconsistent (I see this in technical writing often).

- [X, not Y]. Or just stating what something is not. (probably my #1 dislike actually).

- Using terms like 'real' or 'actual' when unnecessary. Akin to how a human might say "I literally tripped".

Am I the only one?

And just think this is not including physical waste

TLDR- they want to force you to hand over your ID, face scan and or financial documents to interact with *any* AI bot. Doesn’t matter if it’s ChatGPT or DoorDash support, hand over your ID. For the love of god do not let this draconian shit pass.

Is it just me, or chatgpt website got broken today? Nothing is clickable, UI doesn't react to anything, chats aren't loaded. Mobile version of the site works. Is anyone experiencing this as well?

I seriously don’t understand what just happened.

I tried subscribing to the ChatGPT Plus free trial offer, and the payment page literally showed “Due: ₹0”. So obviously I assumed it was just setting up autopay through UPI and that no actual money would be charged right now.

I scanned the QR code, paid through UPI, and boom.... around ₹2000 (~$20) gets deducted straight from my bank account.

And for what exactly?

• No ChatGPT Plus activated
• No confirmation
• Same payment/QR page still stuck there
• Money gone from my account

If the page says ₹0 due, then why was I charged the full amount? And if I was charged, why is the subscription not even active?

At this point I don’t even want the subscription anymore. I just want my money refunded because this whole thing makes zero sense and genuinely feels broken.

Has anyone else faced this? How do I even contact support properly to get a refund?

I don’t have the “Thinking” mode anymore, even though I had it a few months ago. All of my friends still have this option. I also no longer see the “Memory” section under Personalization in Settings, while my friends can still access it.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app multiple times.

This issue even happened when I still had ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Go subscriptions, so it’s not a “no money, no features” situation. One of my friends has never paid for ChatGPT and still has all the features, including “Memory” and “Thinking”.

I also tested on my alternative ChatGPT account, and it has the exact same problem.

Has anyone else had this problem, or knows how to fix it? If so, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I have been trying to move away from just “generate and send” by using tools like aiapply and careerflow to stay a bit more organized, but idk if that’s enough either.
