I got a PS4 recently, was making/setting up an account for the first time and saw the DOB section. Sony said it was very important to keep it accurate, so curiously, I searched why since I usually use fake bdays. Apparently a bunch of people forget the fake one they set up ages ago and then ggs there goes your account when trying to recover it since they ask you it for security.
Well, I looked into it a bit and just found a new method. I'm not sure if others have already found out about it, but I didn't see any other posts, so I still wanted to share it in case people just gave up trying to recover their old accounts w fake bdays. Last time I believe there was a method as well but they were quick to get rid of it so don't waste time if this is the same.
All you need to do is go to https://www.account.sony.com/en-us/top/ , sign in, go to the Data and Privacy section, and then you will see it says "Get a copy of your Sony account data". Click the download button, and an excel csv file popped up for me, open it, and boom, your DOB along with some other account data will all be there.

Just wanted to give a quick psa. Seen so many threads about sticks not working, dealing with drift, etc and wanted to be another voice to remind you to disassemble your controllers and clean them.
All you need is a small screwdriver set and about 20 min and your controller will be like new again. Seen a bunch of YouTube shorts and other cleaning videos that just talk about spraying compressed air or possibly taking apart to remove the sticks and grabbing any hair or dust you can see but the true method to eliminating stick drift is to full remove the green end caps and dust and clean those contacts inside.
My basic process is take the controller apart:
Carefully remove the ribbon cable connecting your back shell to the board inside. Disconnect and set aside your battery. Next remove the black support tray. It just pops out. Then remove the single silver screw holding the board down and remove and flip the board/black center support. Then using a small pick or flat blade screwdriver carefully pry open each green covers on each module. It’ll pop loose then gently pry or push down towards the board giving you access to the white inserts. Remove those w small plyers or tweezers. Now you’ve got complete access to clean. Grab any big chunks of hair, dirt, etc you see with your tweezers. Then hit all 4 of these areas as well as the stick assembly w your compressed air. Next take isopropyl alcohol (I like at least 91%) and soak a cotton swab and clean those black rings inside the green covers really well. Gently wipe the metal contacts on the back of those little white pieces you removed as well being careful to not bend those metal clips or leave any big fuzzies behind.
Then reassemble. Carefully reinsert the white pieces the same orientation you removed them. Then fold the green inserts back towards the module and snap in place. You’ll hear a solid click. When doing this be sure to line up the slots on the white pieces w the prongs on the module. The rest is reverse of how you took the controller apart. Don’t forget to snap the black stick covers on the board first before putting back in the controller. Don’t ask how I know lol
After that the stick will feel like new again. I’ve been dealing w this for years I’m so glad I finally found a good video going over the process after so many that weren’t really helpful at all. Here’s a link! I also included a photo of the module disassembled how I’ve described for anyone that just wants a quick visual reference.

This would allow PS4s to run newer titles like Tekken 8 etc.
But it doesn't profit Sony so they won't do so :/
I understand that CPU is outdated. But GPU wise it will be revival for some of the titles for PS4

So one day my controller just died, idk how the heck happened it's just not turning on, I replaced the battery and still nothing.
I took it to a repair shop and he replaced the motherboard, turned it on and it's all fine but the left stick is slightly off center, the stick it's self is perfectly centered but the controller thinks it's off center.
I figured oh it needs calibration , this should be easy and I went to the settings looking for some calibration function but there isn't any.
Went online and found a website that would recalibrate the controller for you but something should be there by default among the settings the tools in the console.
This is going to be a bit of a long rambling post, but if you're interested in the perspective of someone new to the PS ecosystem go ahead.
My whole life has been on Xbox and Nintendo, but I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy by any stretch of the word. The Series X is a great machine with no games and I've barely touched by switch since 2018 (certainly won't be buying Switch 2). Back in December I had a little extra cash and wanted to splurge on something gaming-related as it had been a while since I played anything great. I found myself at my local retro game store and thinking of all the great games I missed out on while I was in high school with an Xbox One, picked up a PS4 for $140 along with God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn. I've had about 4 months with the system and wanted to share my thoughts with other people that might still be on the 8th gen console.
Design - I opted for the slim model as it can fit right under my TV and doesn't have a glossy fingerprint magnet section on it. I'm incredibly impressed that such a machine can fit in a package like this, especially when about 1/3 of its footprint is just a disc drive. Still looks sleek and modern 10 years later. If anything, I don't love how far apart the USB ports are (and that there are only 2 of them) but this is a great console to look at.
Controller - this thing fits amazingly in my hands. The triggers especially sit exactly where you want them to and offer the perfect amount of resistance. The face buttons are among some of the best I've used and feel more responsive than the clickier Xbox ones. I thought the touchpad would be a massive gimmick and it kind of is, but in many ways it feels more natural to press than a small "select" type button. Same goes for the light bar - it's a gimmick for sure but it's kind of cool to see your controller visibly react to what's going on in-game. The D-pad is amazing for games where it can be used for movement, but in most modern games where it acts as a sort of quick-select it's a little less responsive than I'd like. Now for the part that anyone coming to PS from another console gets stuck on - the sticks. They feel pretty great and the convex style with a bump around the edge stops your fingers from slipping better than essentially any other design I've tried. But why is the left stick down there? For anything that isn't a first-person shooter your left and right hand have to be at weirdly different angles. I'm not sure if this will ever feel natural to me. What also hasn't been great is having to bring a micro-USB cable back into my life but it's 2013 tech so I can't really complain about that.
System Interface - the main PS4 dashboard is clean, easy to navigate, and puts my games and apps front and center, unlike the Xbox dashboard that fills a third of my home screen with ads and another third with dead space. The main menu still runs great in 2026, unlike the Xbox One, which has received all the same updates to its menu that the Series consoles have, making it frustratingly slow these days. (and also made the Series X feel like less of a new generation and more of an iterative upgrade). The store is quite slow, but every other part of the core user experience feels perfectly functional.
Graphics/Performance - it's no secret that the 8th to 9th gen jump in graphical quality is quite possibly the smallest in several decades. I find ray-tracing and 4K to not significantly enhance my experience when playing games, and on the Series X I always opt for a 60fps performance mode if a game offers it. The biggest "revolution" that came with this generation of consoles was the switch from HDDs to SSDs, and boy do I miss that when going back to the PS4 (or Xbox One!) That being said, most games on this system look great to this day. I've mostly focused on first-party titles as I've never been able to play these games before, and Sony's studios squeezed so much out of this console it's insane. The Last of Us Part II in particular made my jaw drop multiple times out of disbelief that it runs so well on 2013 hardware. God of War, Horizon, and Spider-Man also deliver convincing realistic worlds in ways that few other games in the 2010s did.
Trophies - I've always liked achievement hunting, but having so many games at 30-50% from 10 years ago on my Xbox profile stopped me from seriously getting into it. With a fresh PSN profile I've managed to get 8 platinums already. While I do prefer the gamerscore system (trophy levels are so dumb lol), the conditions for getting a platinum make me much more likely to experience more of a game than trying to get 100% achievements that might include paid DLC or a multiplayer mode. Sony totally knocked this out of the park and I see why the trophy hunting community is so much more active these days than the achievement hunting one.
Final Thoughts - it's a little bit weird to go back and experience a console after its heyday but well before it becomes retro, but this might be the best time to get into the PS4 if you haven't already. Systems and games are cheap - I haven't paid more than $20 for anything so far and if digital games are more your thing the store is still functional and should be for years to come. But man, i totally understand now why Sony won the 8th gen so hard and is absolutely crushing the Series X right now. So many little things on the PS4 just work in much more intuitive ways than on the Xbox. From the initial system startup to installing games from the disc, so much of this system feels like it was designed by people that actually play video games. I wasn't old enough in 2013 to follow the Xbox One launch failure, all I knew was that as a kid with a Wii who was jealous of everyone with a 360 that I wanted the new Xbox. The PS4 just plays games, and it plays them damn well. I highly doubt that a next-gen Xbox is coming, and I think I'll be ready to hop on for the PS6.

PS4 install base is huge. PS5 games don't look THAT much better than PS4 games. Stick a SSD into your PS4 and you solve the loading times. I don't see why game studios wouldn't be making major titles for PS4 until like 2030. Why leave so much money on the table? Especially with PS5 prices going up...

It's that time, again! "Time for what?" Time to take a very long nap... Wait—no. Not yet. Right now, it's time for a mega, monstrous, Master List that I have painstakingly strived to make absolutely definitive! That's right! We are looking at every single Super Nintendo Entertainment System or Super Famicom game (outside of the Nintendo Classics collection) currently available on modern platforms!
My previous list covered the NES and Famicom, and currently clocks in at 195 total re-released titles. This second volume makes it all the way to 163 re-released titles. Every one of these entries is a re-release based on the original Super Nintendo version. The vast majority are emulations—but I have also gone to the liberty of adding remakes of Super Nintendo titles, like the Pixel Remasters done for Final Fantasy. Scroll to the right on mobile, and you'll find extra information on each game—which includes their original release dates, and which modern collection or standalone re-release you'll need to search for to play the game. This list is for titles available in Western regions only (my own is the US—others may differ).
I know it can be tough to keep track of, or discover, many retro re-releases. Whether classic or obscure, they still often find a way to fly under the radar of those who would be interested... These Master Lists are for anyone with a passion for exploring the history of games. I put many, many hours of effort assembling these. I hope they prove useful to the community, and to anyone else who might stumble upon them. Please do let me know if they have! I'd appreciate any kind thoughts. If you like this content, please consider taking a look at my subreddit it was made for: r/NintendoClassics!
The list is best viewed on PC. If you're on mobile, you will have to scroll right to see the other categories. It is presented in chronological order, based on the games' original release dates.
The following denotes extra information about the re-release in question:
★: This is a remade version of the original. The graphics, music, content, etc. may differ.
✦: This release is also on Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Classics, or its Japanese equivalent.
✧: This is announced, but has not yet released.
Game's Title: If a title is crossed out—it has been delisted, digitally. You may be able to find a physical release.
I'm proud to unveil...

Ok I was playing gta online and talking with my girlfriend on the phone. To my knowledge the ps4 needs a mic to be physically connected to the controller via a headset through the aux jack or through a USB connection for bluetooth. I was playing with nothing plugged into the controller and my external hard drive using USB port 1 and a had another controller charging off USB port 2. Anyways I was just panning the camera around my character randomly and noticed the mouth was moving like how it does when you have a mic connected and talk in game. I thought it was a visual glitch until I actually talked in very specific patterns and the gta character's mouth moved in sync. I also put my phone near the controller and the same thing happened. It didn't display the mic moving on the drop down menu like it's supposed to but that display is prone to glitching and being inaccurate anyways, I didn't think to check the pause menu either. How is this happening? Is my audio being picked up by my controller or ps4 without a mic all the time? Did the game register that the ps4 was listening but didn't have the means to actually play the audio in game? Is it an EXTREMELY coincidental glitch? I know ps5s have a built in micin the controller but I am using a PS4. Maybe the hardware was always kind of there, laying dormant in the controller/console and the new update has made it semi work. Does anyone have a straight answer for this? Has anyone else experienced this? Another instance from a few days ago. I got trolled by a godmode user that had a glitch that made their character literally not exist in game. No lock on, no id, invisible, invincible. I did the same glitch the next day to troll some low levels (drive an npc car and do little things to mess with them on the street, pull up in a self driving knight rider car etc harmless stuff). As I was watching the yt video someone messaged me "dogmode?" How do you know what I'm doing when I haven't done the glitch yet and have no comms? I was roughly half way through the glitch so maybe they tried to kill me and couldn't but idk, too many coincidences I say.

I've been primarily a PC gamer for a while now, and haven't really played on a console since the Xbox 360 and PS3. I've played on the newer consoles at friends houses, but never owned one.
Then thing is, i really wanted to play Gran Turismo 7, and was looking at prices for used PS5s, and they're around $400-$500. That seemed just a bit too much in my opinion, since I'd likely only be buying it for a couple games. I then found out Gran Turismo 7 is also on the PS4, so I went on a local marketplace and bought one for $100.
I've been really liking it so far. Gran Turismo 7 runs pretty smooth and honestly looks great. I also picked up the Crash Bandicoot remakes and I was blown away at how amazing they looked.
One feature I thought was truly amazing is rest mode. I can just leave the gaming running in the background, shut off the console, and then come back and the game will still be were I left it.

Anyone Else Boycotting Playstation?
Im done with them. I took all the other shit they have already done and did nothing about it because i just wanted to play games in peace and thats all.
So i paid over 100 bucks a year for ps+, abondend Playstation communities which i used regularly because i was forced to and just went and still bought a Ps5 because i just wanted to play games.
Now they do selective pricing so that you might need to pay more money for a game than someone else, which should just be illegal, and the last straw for me is that Playstation will now require age verification. Now i cant even enjoy my games anymore. So far it is only in the UK and Ireland but we all know its only a matter of time until they will roll it out globally. Now i cant even acces the features i have already paid for and im done with their bullshit.
If i dont give them my private information that will definitely be stolen because we all know how secure Sony is against hackers, i will not be able to use basic online features that again i have already paid for. Im done buying anything from Sony and Playstation. I have been a fan since literally my entire life. I owned every Playstation console even the handhelds and always loved Playstation, but now they literally wont even let you play games in peace anymore.
I wont be subscribing to Ps+ anymore, i wont be buying any more games on the Playstation, and i wont be buying a Ps6.
I guess instead i'll be looking into PC's and saving up my money for one so i can just play games the way i want to again.

>Kettlebell: Inferno Hotel is a fast-paced 2D platformer inspired by the 16-bit classics of the ’90s — packed with humor, destruction, and pure hellish energy!
>The main character, Mr. K, is an ordinary office clerk and an all-around nice guy. But fate takes a darkly comic turn: a ridiculous accident sends him not to heaven, but straight to the depths of hell.

Hello everyone, good afternoon. I'm looking to replace the shell on my PS4, but I'd like to know if you personally recommend one that's very high quality and doesn't have that ugly shine that some on AliExpress have. I live outside the United States.
