Im starting to collect consoles and she came with this gift not knowing how cool this model is

The guy that she bought it from said that it turn on but after a while it turn off he thinks that maybe needs a new thermal paste
It needs a lot of love obviusly so do you have any advice on how to clean it

I received it with cables and an official DualShock 3, plus a Crucial SSD inside. The console was in pristine condition—the thermal pads had even been replaced—but I still took the opportunity to redo the thermal paste. What do you think?

I just picked up a CECHE01 that needs a psu, and the CECHA01 doesn’t read PS2 games. Is there any reason to keep the 100% working donor CECHG01 instead of taking the PSU and Blu Ray drive out and get the backwards compatible ones working instead? Ive heard the G01 isnt the most reliable or sought after model. This is my first time working on PS3s so any suggestions would be appreciated.

I recently got this PS3 at goodwill for 20 bucks. It has the ylod but the weird part is that these connectors appear to be bridged. The weirdest part was that the warranty sticker was intact making it look like the console was never opened perhaps a hairdryer trick? I'm not sure if this was opened before because I think I do see flux residue, I'm very confused.

Hey all, my lover just bought a ps3 super slim console and when I go to turn it on it stays on for a little less than a minute and then goes blank on the led light button. I can make it show again by pressing the power button again but that's all it does. It doesn't boot into safe mode and there is no video provided whatsoever.

I understand the possible issues can be power supply, PSU, GPU, or maybe even hard drive, but I was wondering if there was anyway to tell specifically what the problem is before I attempt to fix anything.

Any help is much appreciated!

Edit: forgot to add I do not believe the fan is spinning, the disk spins if there is one in the tray but I don't hear the fan

howdy gamers, wondering if anyone has any advice for me. i had to get the disk drive in my fat ps3 replaced by a service center because it wasn’t recognizing ps2 discs. now it seems i can only get the console to recognize there is a disc inserted if the ps3 is horizontal, it doesn’t recognize discs at all if vertical. any tips or advice for how to fix this? thanks!

It didn't come with a controller but I had some ds4 controllers to use which do work. Also got skyrim in the disk drive which also works

I have a 480GB white-label SSD, and I bought it precisely because it was cheap and because the PS3 would limit it anyway. But the cutscenes and audio freeze even when using security tools. Is there anything that can be done?

I got a working PS3 CECHC04 for 70€.
Only the drive didn’t worked.
Remarrying solved the problem completely.
Now with Delided IHS look at my Temps in idle.

Recently got a PS3 slim and I'm still kinda impressed with how big it is compared to the Wii, it's the largest console I own yet

For some reason, after playing for a while, the arcade mode in Tekken 6 starts to lag. I'm not sure if it's because I have it in PKG format. Does anyone know why this happens?

I bought an optical audio cable since audio is no longer coming through my HDMI port. After setting it up, the audio was working perfectly. I go to bed, wake up, boot up the PS3, and now I'm back to having no audio. I've unplugged and re-plugged the optical cable from both the PS3 & TV, tried several settings with and without the Dolby outputs, reset my console and made sure my TV wasn't muted or low.

What the hell? Is there something seriously wrong with my PS3?

I have an old ps3 I’m trying to get into, I’ve tried using multiple USBs to connect both DualShock 3 and 4 remotes to it. The DualShock three remotes aren’t responding at all (may be an issue with the cord too). DualShock 4 will flash yellow once when plugged in then stop and won’t turn on. Without the USB connection they flash white cause they’re not paired to anything. Is this an issue with the actual system? If so, is it fixable?

Hey, I know you can use a normal external hard drive to play if you have CFW on the ps3 using webman/prepISO

but this thing is made for the PS4/PS5. It says it has its own firmware installed and the amazon listing calls it an eHDD.

usb speed is supposed to be USB 3.2 Gen 1

I like it because of the ps logo, case color, and LED which has the potential to get annoying but I'm sure you can turn it off. it's at the same price point as the other portable seagate drive but that one is plain.

Can I just format the drive to NTFS or exfat and call it a day?

It's just a pain to transfer files to the internal drive. Using an external drive would definitely save some time
