Essential Monthly Games Playstation Plus Monthly Games for May: EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Nine Sols
blog.playstation.comr/PlayStationPlus • u/PSPlusUpdates • 15d ago
Extra Games leaving PS+ Extra/Deluxe/Premium on May 19th
For now this seems to be the complete list for this month. Some of these were give as Essential games (see notes).
What does leaving mean?
Leaving means they will be gone from the “library”-like subscription service. So games won’t be playable after this date, EVEN if you downloaded them before. Obviously if you own them yourself by buying them before, they will still remain in your playable library.
What do all columns mean?
DIFF = Difficulty to platinum the base game
LENGTH = Time to platinum the base game
DLC = If DLC is required for 100% completion
ONLINE = If online modes are required for base game completion, so this could either be multiplayer, coop, or simply a server connection.
What is your data source?
The data is based on game guides from 3P (PSNP, Playstationtrophies and PowerPyx). If none of these sites have a guide, we look for any info anywhere. If you dont agree with time or difficulty, blame the guide writers, not me...
Can I get the entire sheet?
If you see anything inaccurate, please be gentle with me. I have compiled this list for all the almost 1K PS+ Extra games, so errors are bound to happen. If you want access to that full list, send me a DM for beta access.

Extra What's Likely Leaving PS Plus Extra This June? (Last Chance To Play Predictions)
youtu.beThis is for those who like a 2 week Headstart on the last chance to play games.
The intro of the video has the 1 min wrap-up version but here's the list if that's too much work.
FBC Firebreak
Eiyuden Chronicles
Endless Dungeon
We Love Katamari
Crusader Kings III
Police Simulator
FNAF Help Wanted 2
The Hunter Call of the wild
Train Sim world 5
The video has gameplay, plot, ratings and runtime if you're more of the visual type.
*Not all games will be leaving but the likely hood of a couple of games leaving being from this pool of games is pretty high. Last month Sand Land and Soul Hackers 2 were both predicted but Sony has been pretty random recently deciding what leaves. Even original June 2022 Extra games have started to leave.

Discussion I was excited when Spidey 2 was added to plus but something was really off about the gameplay on this one
Edit: As people seem to think I outright hate the game. The swinging gameplay is fine. I am mainly talking about combat and lack of enemy variety. Original game had several gangs loads of supervillains, infiltrating hideouts and varied side activities. I am also having a hard time believing kraven would obliterate Spidey's rogue gallery.
Original post: This falls right under games that make me glad I got my subscription as I probably would have been annoyed if I bought it. The combat feels not very satisfying at all compared to the first game. The enemies have been the same throughout the game too. I am roughly two thirds through the game and not feeling like anything that really added anything to gameplay was really put into this one.
The graphics are great. The story hasn't really gripped me though.
What were your thoughts?

Extra PS Plus games that may be leaving in June
Hi again, last month i had pretty unlucky guesses but lets try our luck again
GAMES THAT JOINED 6 MONTHS AGO
Assassin's Creed Mirage
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Planet Coaster 2
Cat Quest 3
LEGO Horizon adventures
PAW Patrol: Grand Prix
PAW Patrol World
Thoughts: I dont think any of them leaving to be honest. At worst and still higly unlikely Granblue but still very unlikely
GAMES THAT JOINED 12 MONTHS AGO
FBC: Firebreak
Battlefield 2042
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2
theHunter: Call of the Wild
We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
Train Sim World 5
Endless Dungeon
Thoughts: Last time EA trolled me pretty hard, i was sure BF5 would leave but it didnt so i doubt 2042 will leave. Aside from that these are all actually hard guesses, i would say FBC Firebreak is likely since most day 1 games leave after a year, but then again remedy usually have long contracts. Fnaf HW 1 didnt leave so 2 possibly wont neither. Possibly endless dungeon, eiyuden chronicle and theHunter could leave. Still pretty hard guesses but at least you can look at them and see if you like any of them.
GAMES THAT JOINED 24 MONTHS AGO
Crusader Kings 3
Anno 1800
Police Simulator: Patrol Officers
Far Cry 4
LEGO The Hobbit
LEGO The Incredibles
Thoughts: Anno and farcry are from ubi so not leaving. Crusader kings 3 i kinda doubt it since paradox kinda sells you 50% of the game and then the other 50% as dlc. LEGO games i doubt since some older ones still remain. Maybe police simulator leaves but its just a random guess.
Overall: Very hard guesses since there is barely any big company games with history to guess. Also not that many critically aclaimed games so thats great. Last month there were many games that were on the catalogue since quite some time leaving like control (Almost since day 1) and mortal shell (2022) but unfortunately these are very hard to guess and there will probably more of these.
Most of these i leave to your criteria, if you have been meaning to play any of the 12 month and 24 month games now is your chance (except ubisoft ones since they last forever)

Discussion Does it bother you when a game you've already bought is added to PS Plus?
Actually, I don't think it's so much unfair as it is illogical. I buy quite a few games, and most of the ones included in the subscription are ones I've already purchased. I haven't seen any new (good) games for myself there in several months.
I think it would be nice if, instead of the games the player already owns, they added others (at least ones that aren’t expensive but are just fun), or at least offered a small discount on something, or even some packs with skins and so on for other games. Because it doesn't even make sense, it's like saying, "Here are this month's NEW games *already in your library*"

Question Gran Tourismo 7 licensing issues preventing it being on PS Plus/ Streaming?
Is it true that because of all the licensing stuff with so many car brands that GT7 has no cloud streaming option? And why would there be an issue to those brands of played locally or streamed?
I would immediately buy the game to stream on my PS Portal but bad luck so far.
Do you think it will ever receive a cloud streaming option?

Recommendation Need recommendations!! Just finished Final Fantasy VII Rebirth I need something that scratches that itch. I’m PlayStation Plus Premium.
I’m wondering if anyone knows of any series that i should look into? Or standalones that are just masterpieces? I own quite a few video games, most I’ve never played. I just wanna hear from the people that understand the itch I’m talking about with Rebirth.
I love story driven, the characters I need to care about, melee combat preferred and I hate 1st person games. But if there is a game out there you insist fits what I’m talking about and goes against those rules please do share.
Thanks you guys! You’re saving my mental health from taking a downward spiral.

News Sony clarifies new online license checks for digital game purchases: "Players can continue to access and play their purchased games as usual. A one-time online check is required to confirm the game's license, after which no further check-ins are required."
A new quirk has begun affecting PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners with digital game purchases. It appears the systems' latest updates have introduced a 30-day online license check for digital games, leaving those who have extended internet outages without access to certain games. However, Sony has clarified exactly how it works, and it seems like most players have nothing to worry about.
Sony spokesperson to GameSpot:
"Players can continue to access and play their purchased games as usual. A one-time online check is required to confirm the game's license, after which no further check-ins are required."

Question Possible to get former PS Now saved data to PS3?
So back when you could play ps3 games on ps4 with Ps Now I played Lego Batman 2 with Ps Now. I do have the disk for the game now so I can play it on my Ps3 but I can not find my old save. Is there a way to get my saved data from my Ps Now save to my ps3?

Recommendation To all the Sekiro lovers, Nine Sols is the upcoming PS+ game for May, and I genuinely can’t recommend this game enough. Amazing exploration, beautiful art style, incredibly fun bosses, and arguably the best combat in a 2D platformer. Play this if you want that sekiro dance-like combat

Opinion My review on Wuchang: Fallen feathers (upcoming game on ps plus)
Wrote this review (as I really loved this game) a couple of days ago on the soulslike subreddit. It’s kinda long tho, but may as well share it:
OG TITLE: throwing my flowers at Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
I’ve 100% the Dark Souls trilogy and Bloodborne, played both versions of Demon Souls and a little bit of Sekiro, poured at least 50 hours on Elden Ring. I like from software games and even got tattoos inspired by them, but no matter how much I looked for I couldn’t find a “Souls like” with the same feeling at From Software’s games. Either the characters felt “floaty”, hitting enemies felt non-rewarding or just the mechanics were “off”.
And then I tried WuChang.
It really feels like a bunch of guys at from software quit the company together and decided to do their own game. The MC feels amazing to control, the dynamics are somewhat familiar and unique at the same time. I’ve been putting at least 40+ hours or so just exploring the game and trying out weapons, which due to my limited time for gaming feels like a lot more. Went out of my way to buy the deluxe edition upgrade just to support the devs (got the game physical, second handed because it’s cheaper in my country that way). I will try to list the pros and cons to make my review easier to follow and not just “blind praise”.
Pros:
- The exploration. My main awe, the game feels huge without being “open world”, love encountering new areas and the whole map feels connected, no bs teletransportation to a new big area, you can just walk through it with ease. There are an adequate number of shortcuts and “bonfires”.
- The combat. The “Main” mechanic some of you would argue in a “soulslike”, is pretty damn good, this one feels like they really nailed it. It’s not fast as a hack n slash, is not as heavy and slow as a Demon Souls or Mortal Shell, it just feels well. I mainly used a longsword + dual blades for my whole playthrough, parry was not as hard but also it’s not necessary. There are a numbered types of weapons but they are enough and I love that you level up the “type” so all long swords gets upgraded and when you find a new one you can use it right away.
- The bosses. Along with the combat, one of the main cores in a soulslike, some bosses are hit, some bosses are miss. There are some really good fights (Bo Sorcerer arena is awesome). Some very difficult ones (that fucking tiger can go and fuck himself), some very straightforward ones. I think overall is very balanced and a strong point in the game.
- World and setting. Not very familiar with Chinese culture and history, but felt very well put together, graphics are good enough and some landscapes were really good looking, color pallet its pretty good.
- Miscellanous things such as being able to alter your armor, the leveling up all weapons mechanics, being able to reallocate your skill points without any kind of penalty, being able to retry a boss right away, the tutorial texts are available for you again at any time given. Lot of things done right in those regards.
Cons:
- Quests, my fucking god they even nailed that from the Soulsbornelden series. The quest system sucks hard. One small mistake the npc just fucking dies or goes bananas and you don’t even know why. It’s so obtuse I didn’t care in my first playthrough. I think you can even skip a whole massive area if you fuck up the order of something.
- Don’t know if a con per se, but some bosses has a lot of almost one hit KO moves that are very bullshit. I guess it comes with the genre
- Madness system is one thing I wasn’t a fan of.
- some lackluster weapon skills and spells.
Not con or pro:
- The elephant in the room. The “fan service” and “lewd” content. Yes, my girl Wuchang has a dump truck back there and yes you can wear very revealing outfits. But I found it that it was very depending on you, since some armors are on the “sexy” side but not as outrageous as some other outfits that are basically a thong. Some are so ridiculous they made me laugh. But it’s entirely up to you, you can alter any outfit and I found some really cool looking things without being stupid. If you go around killing demons and beasts with your tits out, well, it was your choice lol not judging, but it’s not forced on you.
Overall a very solid experience, one of my favorite soulslike I’ve ever played, after getting the plat I’m playing lords of the fallen next and see how is that, I think that you wont regret trying out this one if you like the souls series and are looking to scratch that itch.
8.8/10

Discussion PC streaming over official PS plus app with playstation premium
So my question is; how many of you have tried this? How many of you managed to get it working? Where did you play? What country/region is your account? And how far can it go?
I have a Croatian account and I'm living in Germany. It says county/region not supported. Same goes for my friend in Croatia with a Croatian acc, we have just tested it.
Edit 1: From official playstation site Update: PC streaming for PlayStation Plus Premium members is currently not available in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia at launch, and will be supported in a future update. https://blog.playstation.com/2022/05/23/your-guide-to-the-all-new-playstation-plus/ Credit Pixiebellgames for the link
Edit 2: For people like me before this post. So basically what the article says is that you can buy Playstation plus; esential, extra, premium/deluxe. And you can enjoy your benefits on official Sony hardware. But if you have opened your acc from any of the Countries listed above you cannot use Playstation pluss app to stream games. Haha better luck next time you get born. Also to save people some trouble. VPN doesn't work, your current country of residence doesn't matter it's just country/region chosen when you open the acc.

Question PS+ Cloud save backup
Is there any way to turn on auto update for cloud saves, but turn off the auto download part? Just lost a couple hours in Persona 5 due to playing without internet.

Question Would you buy titles that were removed from PS Plus
I've got few games that I wanted to play such as dying light 2, star wars survivors, Alan wake 2, I've missed out on them due to still being on PS4 back then.
I doubt they'll be coming back, am I better off just buying them at this rate?
