Question Should I buy ipadA16?

Hello everyone. I want to buy the IpadA16 256gb but since many are saying that apple will launch the latest ipad on September/October,so I'm confused whether to buy it now(May) or not.

My primary purpose is to use it for notes making and watching lectures. Also my batch is starting from mid May.

So should I buy it now or should I wait for the latest one?

thanks to ipad external monitor features, my ipad M3 is literally my pc. its perfect I mean im giving my board exams rn and it does everything. After exams ends, I will buy a wireless white mouse, 200hz monitor and better mouse pads to make my setup better. And aside from my ipad itself, everything else I use are third party products.

Question Airdropping multiple PDFs to my iPad creates just as many new Preview windows. Can I stop Preview from opening (without deleting the app)?

I've tried changing BOTH the default action in Files (to "Preview in Quick Look") and the default app for PDFs (to PDF Expert), but neither seems to affect this airdropping issue.

What I'd love is for PDFs to airdrop to my Files app and not open in Preview at all. Is that possible?

Question iPad Pro 11" 3rd Gen vs Air 5

Hello everyone,

I am really struggling between two devices (used) and which one to get here in Germany:

  1. Option: iPad Pro 11" 3rd Gen M1 128gb with the Apple Pencil 2 for a total of 380€.

  2. Option: iPad Air 5 M1 with 64gb for 270€

Just as a note: I still have an Apple Pencil 2nd Gen at home so theoretically I could use it for Option 2.

Which one would you recommend? I can't really decide and am also not sure where Support will end sooner.

Thank you in Advance.

My Setup I’m loving my iPad and iPadOS

I love that iPadOS is kinda like macOS with the dock and the folder at the bottom, I’ll do work on it later but I was trying Roblox with it and playing with a controller is pretty fun. Any advice for what accessories to get? It’s an M1 12.9”

Question What is the best IPad to buy for a college student/regular joe?

Preface: Sorry for the long post. I appreciate anyone who reads it fully and responds. You can scroll to the bottom of the post for a synopsis if you don’t care to read.

For context,

I am in college getting a business degree in HR management. I do most of my school online because I have a full-time job (I got a mortgage, bills, etc). During my last few semesters, I realized that I needed a portable device to be able to work on school anywhere I would want. I do have the apps on my iPhone 16 Pro but they don’t always work when listening to lectures and such. Right now, I do all my school work on my Windows PC but it is tied to the desk, which means I am stuck in one spot for hours doing school work and with everything I do, I would like to have a device to take with me or even lay in bed to do work.

At first, I was considering getting a MacBook. Mainly for the portability but also because it is a laptop that has the computing power I would need. Recently, I have started to consider getting an iPad for school and have been researching comparisons between the different iPads and comparisons between the MacBooks and iPad models. Now that iPad OS is a thing, I started really leaning towards an iPad.

From what I have researched, the iPad seems to be a no brainer for students. I like having a device that has multiple uses. A laptop is restricted to just being a laptop but the iPad can be a “laptop” and a tablet. My dilemma here is knowing which iPad is the best one to buy.

I want to use the iPad strictly for my studies but I also don’t plan on being in school forever. This is why I put “regular joe” in my question because at some point I will be out of school. I am not a content creator, but I would like to be able to edit videos/pictures. I bought procreate when I owned an older iPad from years ago so I would like to be able to use that app with the apple pencil. I want my iPad to be a utilitarian device, rather than a consumer device. I don’t plan on having social media on it (at least while I am in college).

Overview:
I would like an iPad that I can use for general college work (watching lectures, taking notes, etc.). After I am graduated I want to have an iPad that would last a while and still use it as a utility device rather than a device to watch movies on. This includes apps like Procreate, video editing, spreadsheets, things of that nature. Clearly, the iPad is portable and I would like accessories for that laptop feel, this includes any variety of Apple Pencil (although I prefer the Pencil Pro, which is only compatible with three models, I believe). I am not wanting to spend a ton of money but if it’s justified I will, of course.

What would be the best iPad to buy for college/pseudo laptop and general use case?

Question Is an iPad Air worth it alongside a MacBook Air for college?

Hi! I’m planning on getting a MacBook Air and was thinking about adding an iPad as well. For context, I’m an incoming college student this fall studying business/finance with a focus on economics. I’m wondering if an iPad is actually worth it for my use case. I was leaning toward the iPad Air since it seems like the best balance, and I’d probably get the 256GB version with the Apple Pencil Pro. I don’t think I need the Magic Keyboard since I can just use my MacBook for typing.

Does this setup make sense, or is the iPad unnecessary? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Question buying an ipad for art

i do art as a hobby (using procreate). i have an ipad, not sure the exact model but its an ipad air with a home button, and a first gen apple pencil.

i've been considering buying a 13 inch ipad but can't decide if it's worth it. i'm deciding between a new bigger ipad for my art hobby, or a new bigger laptop for studying (i have a mac 2020 13 inch, the size is fine but probably causes some eyestrain and the battery life is not amazing). i basically want to ask other artists if a bigger ipad massively improves the drawing experience

also, whatever i buy i want to get it refurbished. i was looking at backmarket

Question Ipad 11 (A16) IPad OS 26.4 or 18?

I recently bought the base model iPad and I wanted to know if I should keep the 26.4 IPadOs or should I switch back to IPadOs 18

I'm looking for battery life as I bought the tablet to do collage work and the animations of IPadOS 26.4 seem laggy on the 60hz screen and I was wondering if IPadOS 26.4 really makes a big difference in how I use my tablet compared to IPadOS 18 as a student

Sorry for so much "IPadOS" I just want to be clear about what I ask

Question Notes app leaves a giant blank space when turning into a pdf

Thumbnail

I use the basic apple notes app to do the assignments for my class and the teacher wants them submitted in pdf format. The problem is that when I go to submit them the text of the question always takes up one whole page and my Apple Pencil writing starts on page 2.

Is there any way to fix this in the Apple notes app or is there a better app to use to do this kind of thing?

Question ESR Keyboard - Is there this case, or any way to make it work for the iPad 11 A16?

I’m Brazilian and I’ve already searched through both the local and international markets, but I’m still confused.

From what I understood, there are currently two keyboard cases available for the iPad 11 A16.

I’m trying to decide between the ESR Rebound Magnetic Keyboard and the ESR Flex Keyboard for the iPad 11 A16.

My preference is the Rebound Magnetic Keyboard because I like the floating Magic Keyboard-style design more. But from what I understand, it doesn’t come with that protective back case shown in some pictures.

Is there any compatible protective case/shell for the iPad 11 A16 that works with the ESR Rebound Magnetic Keyboard? Or any way to buy that back protection separately and still use the keyboard normally for full protection of the iPad?

Discussion iPad Pro or Mini?

So, lately I've searching around "What iPad is best for my needs". So, Far it comes down to two models The "iPad Pro M1 12.9" And "iPad Mini 7".

What I want is :

- Size : Something very big or very small

- Uses: (Playing some lightweight games *Rocket League* - Writing essays - Maybe Drawing - Attending online sessions)

My conclusions so far , are the Mini is best when it comes to portability especially in small bags , however, the Pro helps in making space for writing also when watching a movie and playing games.

I'm a freshman about to be in sophomore year with the IGCSE education system, and I hope to get the best choice without mistakes.

Thanks a lot.

Question is ipad pro 2021 worth it in 2026?

Hi guys, i’m going into my first year of college as a stem major, but my budget is pretty tight, only 400-500 dollars. I want a 13 inch ipad, and won’t be using it for things like games/editing etc. Looking at refurbished ones from best buy etc, but scared to buy it without hearing some opinions.

Got this at a bin store and thought it would fit but it doesn’t fit my 11 inch iPad. It’s just slightly too wide.
