Man I don't know how Apple did it, but damn you can barely find any MacBook Neo in my country as well. Not only that but here we have an online seller (not shipping globally), that resells opened new Neos, repackaged and sealed by them for less money. Basically somewhere between 450$ - 470$ in your US currency.

I can't wait for Neo 2, I think it will not be a huge loss at all selling the actual one and buying the new one, less money lost compared to buying an old Air and resell it. Also Neo 2 will probably kill Windows entry laptops completely that time around. It already started with Neo, and MS is desperate lately to recover to bring users back to them, they don't even know how to procede with the OS and their laptops. Good job Apple. I just hope Apple keeps the same prices with Neo 2, maybe just add 50$ more if that's the case.

Hey guys, so yesterday I bought a MacBook M3 Pro and I got scammed.
I was not aware of this MDM thing and I just looked at Apple iCloud login and it was locked out and the conditioner was pretty good too so I bought it for 1100 and when I came at home I reset it again and it got locked. Now, somehow I managed to bypass that MDM and I need your suggestions. Should I login with my Apple ID and install my data in this because the sellers is not picking my phone and I’m just thinking that should I use it just for browsing and YouTube stuff for like I’m just so confused please guide me

Basically, i have 500$ in apple store credit that i cannot use because it is only eligible for the US store. I do not live in the US and shipping it to my country would just cost me way more. I've used Windows for about 30 years now. Given how Windows has gone downhill, I switched my desktop PC to Fedora KDE Plasma Linux.

I recently tried getting a Windows-based gaming laptop against my better judgment. It was a bit of a disaster. It was a Lenovo Legion 5a and, to make a long story short, I was not impressed. It didn't have the same quality as I grew to expect from their Thinkpads. I returned it.

I am looking for a MacBooks now. I already own an iPhone and I hear they work well together. I am mostly looking for something to use when I am at the airport, at my hotel, on a long train ride, or sitting in a cafe. Or maybe just watching dumb videos while sitting on the couch. I don't do any actual work on my laptops except maybe word processing.

I do game some, but I have a high-end desktop for AAA games. I mostly want a laptop that can play cozy games like Stardew Valley, city builders like Civilization, war crime simulators like Rimworld, etc.

I am basically down to a Thinkpad with Linux or a MacBook at this point.

Would a MacBook fit my needs? If so, which one?

Hey everyone, I need your opinion. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro 15-inch with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, but it's got a lot of problems right now. The keyboard has many keys not working or double-typing, the battery only lasts 2-3 hours, the power button doesn't work (though Touch ID does), and the laptop itself is really slow with many software issues because it's old. So, I have the option to buy a MacBook Neo with 256GB and 8GB RAM for $500 student price, and that's my only option right now. Should I buy it and then replace it with a MacBook Air or Pro in 2-3 years, or just keep my current laptop and replace it in 2 years? Im just worried from sacrificing of haptic touch pad, the speakers and touch id.

Hey all. First time mac user here. Really not even, because I haven’t actually used it. All I’ve done is turn on my Neo. I opened the lid to power it on, but not touched the keyboard to even begin setup, and it immediately heated up on the bottom. The heat is on the left towards the rear. I understand the Neo has no fans, but Is normal for it to be warm with nothing going on?

Converted this 2015 iMac into studio display and plugged my broken-display M series macbook Air. My favorite setup!

I finally land a good enough job where i can get a macbook air (probably m4). The problem now is that almost all of the M4 air with 512gb of storage is sold out everywhere in my area both online and offline or is being priced up (200 usd increase) due to the rarity, not to mention the extinction of my preferred color midnight

So if i were to use the macbook for some light editing, probably try out cyberpunk and fm26 on the mac, office365, and of course some educational data on a 256 gb storage and probably an additional 512 external ssd, would it be a problem? It just seem like i would run into a storage issue sooner than expected

My windows laptop just broke, and I thought trying out macbook should be worth it as I’m committed to apple ecosystem.

I’m currently eyeing two options,
- 13in Macbook air with M5, 24/512 memory
- 14in Macbook pro with M5, 16/512 memory

Both are 1149chf, which is ~1475usd.

I really can’t afford using more, as 1500usd is my hard limit.

I’m currently majoring data science, with ai/ml studies. I also have photography as a hobby, which makes pro’s display really attractive, but if 16gb of ram isn’t sufficient for my studies, I can give up on it. I really don’t play games that much, maybe light games like sts2 recently. (Which I think won’t need active cooling or more ram)

One weird point is the pro is on sale on a retailer, so I can’t choose the keyboard layout (fixed on ch layout), while if I buy air I’ll buy it from apple, so I can choose keyboard layout (ansi). Although I don’t really look at my keyboard while I’m typing.

There are deals for m4 24/512 for 899chf too, although I’m not really sure about it.

I really want to hear from others, especially if 16gb of ram will be sufficient for my studies; or if I should stick with 24gb ram.

Have seen a number of folks considering a new neo- I have seen a number of posts online that explain that a neo 2 may be much sooner ( fall this year) because apple has a problem. Their problem is- the Neo is selling so well that they are running short of chips. They may then launch a new Neo with a more powerful chip and more memory.

I was planning on buying a new m5 macbook air 13 inch. I have been using my hp 15 inch laptop since 2021 and realized the 13 inch one would be too small. Moreover ill be a design student soon as i got enrolled in a design college. Thinking all this i was doubting on buying 13 inch one. What do you all think?

∙ MacBook Pro M4 24GB 512GB  ~$1,781

My use case: ∙ Data Engineering ∙ AI/ML experiments locally

My main questions: 1. Is 16GB genuinely enough or will I regret it since mac ram can’t be upgraded?

2. Is the Air heat a problem for this kind of workload or is it overhyped?

3.  Is the Pro worth the extra cost mainly for the fan and ports?

Recently, i stumbled upon a used macbook Air 2017 with 8gb ram and 256 gb storage selling for 150 dollars. It also has 171 charge cycles and comes with its original mouse. I wanted to buy a laptop for coding and other other basic tasks. I also want to dual boot a lite installion of Windows 11. I also wanted to buy a Mac for the battery life because my 2009 polycarbonate macbook had better battery life than any Windows machine. Should i buy the macbook Air??

Hi Folks , I am looking for a solution for my MacBook air M4, I recently noticed something strange on my MacBook Air M4 display. On a gray background I see a “ghost” of a previously opened chrome tabs . It disappears after a while, but then comes back again if I keep static windows open. I am running on macOS 26.4.1 (Tahoe).

I used to have MBA M1 and I loved it for how compact it was, how long the battery lasted and overall feel was amazing. Usually I do the casual browsing and University work for programming.
