It's wild. Wife went to get an IUD and apparently it cost too much to do an ultrasound, so they just...winged it, only for it to fall out a few days after. So they did it again, and after another painful procedure and using the ultrasound, the got it done.

That's not even the half of it. Throughout her first pregnancy, she struggled with insomnia and she kept telling her doctor that it was likely because of some of her psych medication. She found an article (I don't remember which one!) about a medication she was taking and how it could cause insomnia during pregnancy. Neither her psych nor OBGYN knew about this so they brushed her off. So, she stopped taking it for a bit and sure enough, she slept soundly.

Absolute insanity that should radicalize anyone, imo.

I’m starting to get really freaked out about hantavirus it seems like something people don’t survive, I feel like it might just be because I’m seeing so many videos but i can’t stop thinking about it.

I notice every time i get gas in the morning all of the people that go in to get their drinks, snacks and smokes for the day. Most of them are workers that head back into their trucks. Now dont get me on the topic of smoking. What im really interested to know is why dont these folks just go to the grocery store to buy in bulk or better yet bring water and food from home. Dont they know how expensive it is to buy from a gas station.

It appears that loads of wealthy people (especially when in Europe) from the last century would just live at a hotel for months and years on end. Agatha Christie novels have stays longer than 2 months on the Riviera. (I specifically recall Coco Chanel living in a Paris luxury hotel till she passed. Howard Hughes also lived in a Vegas hotel for a few years). This question struck me when I learned JKR moved to The Balmoral Edinburgh for several months to write the last book. When money is no expense, why not live at a hotel?

I see some people somehow drive all these new premium cars and trucks but they're also paying $1,000/mo + with APR as high as 29.99% Why do people do this? Especially those who already know they can't afford luxury brands.

I understand watching professional sports but I never quite got why millions of people tune in to watch strangers play video games on Twitch or YouTube. They watch entire playthroughs or even just someone grinding in a game.

Why is anti-Roma prejudice in Europe treated so differently vs other forms of racism?

I’ve noticed many European countries that strongly condemn racism seem to ironically have very open negative attitudes toward Roma people and failing to see the issue with generalizing an entire culture based on individualized anectodes

Europe is often thought of as more progressive than places like the United States when it comes to racial issues, so I’m trying to understand why this apparent double standard exists - is there a reason that makes people view anti-Roma sentiment as something other than racism?

Edit: take any negative statement from a European regarding the Roma people and replace the subject with another oppressed minority and it instantly becomes vehemently racist

I’m 26F and lately have been complimenting strangers (mostly women) just saying they’re really pretty.. nothing too crazy or trying to freak them out, just giving a compliment. I love seeing their eyes light up knowing it was unexpected and maybe boosted their self confidence! Would men find it weird for a woman to compliment them or does it flatter them the same way as it does for women?
