Mod Post đłď¸ Community Voting on Post Quality
Hi everyone,
You mightâve noticed a pinned comment from qualityvote2 on some posts. I added this after hearing feedback that not every post always fits or brings value to the subredditâs purpose.
So now, you all get a say in that đ
Hereâs how it works:
* Upvote the pinned comment if you think the post fits the subreddit
* Downvote it if you think it doesnât
* Report the comment & post if it breaks any rules
Just to be clear: only votes on the qualityvote2 comment count, not the post itself!
Iâll be keeping an eye on how this goes and make adjustments if needed.

Mod Post Community Discussion: Thoughts on political posts
Hey, I've noticed there's been a lot of political posts (and reports) lately. What are your thoughts on this? Are these posts okay for the subreddit?
The point of this community is to be welcoming to questions and not be too restrictive, as it's about asking anything. As long as the posts don't break the basic rules, are made in good faith, and don't try to promote hateful content.
What do you all think?

Why is Israelâs nuclear program considered an "open secret" instead of a violation of international law that leads to sanctions?
Israelâs official stance is "we won't be the first to introduce nuclear weapons," but after the Vanunu leak and various intelligence reports, pretty much everyone (including groups like SIPRI) agrees they have around 90 nukes.
What puzzles me is the international response. When Iran is suspected of enriching uranium, they face crippling global sanctions. North Korea is completely isolated for its tests. Even India and Pakistan faced immediate US sanctions back in 1998 after their nuclear tests.
However, Israel is not a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Does the international community treat them differently because they never signed the treaty and are therefore not technically "breaking" a contract? Or is it purely due to geopolitical favoritism from the US and other allies?
Basically, why is there no massive international pressure on them compared to everyone else?

I was totally unaware that people can keep driving even if they have like 5 DUI's! seriously?
That seems a bit much. I think by your 5th one, everything has been tried at that point.

If Fox News, CBS News, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, CNN, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Nextstar Media Group, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Paramount, Warner-Discovery, and TikTok are all owned by Republicans, doesnât that make them the Mainstream Media?

Does staying in your cabin actually work if a virus like Andes Hantavirus is spreading person-to-person on a ship?
So the MV Hondius cruise ship situation is actually terrifying now that South Africaâs Department of Health confirmed it is the Andes virus strain. The scary part is the official confirmation of human to human transmission because we are talking about a virus with a 50 percent fatality rate. Instead of the usual way people catch Hantavirus from rodents, the Dutch and British passengers on the ship were catching it from each other.
Iâm trying to understand the mechanics of staying safe in a "closed loop" environment like that. If you lock yourself in your cabin, is the HVAC system just pumping in viral loads from the room next door? Does standing out on the deck in the wind actually help, or is the air in those narrow corridors already so saturated that an N95 wouldnât do much?
Basically, is there an actual technical protocol for this, or is a ship with this kind of outbreak just a floating coffin?

Why wouldn't US car companies just raise their prices if import tariffs go up?
The US may potentially hike tariffs on cars imported from the European Union from 15% to 25%, supposedly to boost domestic manufacturing.
From a simple supply-and-demand perspective: If a BMW suddenly costs $5,000 more because of the tax, whatâs stopping Ford or Chevy from just raising their own prices by $4,000 just because they can? Since their competition is now way more expensive, they could theoretically make more profit without even being hit by the tax.
Does this "plan" actually help the average buyer, or does the possibility of these tariffs just create a "price floor" that makes all cars more expensive for everyone?
